Meditation on a Motif

A short piece for violin and piano This started out as a simple variation exercise—I had a little motif I liked, and just kept playing around with it until it turned into a full piece. It’s basically me seeing how far I could take one idea without it getting boring. The second section flips the motif around (retrograde), but it’s all still connected to the original thought. Nothing dramatic here—just a quiet, reflective kind of vibe. Hope you enjoy it.
