Margo and Nina are excited about the upcoming release of their podcast, "Message from Home." They discuss the first episode and ask for feedback. They also talk about micro trends and then move on to discussing hot takes on the Glasgow music scene, including the idea that the best bands aren't even from Glasgow. They share their own thoughts on Scottish bands and reminisce about their music preferences when they were younger. hi this is Margo Nina from a message from home yeah yeah hello this is Margo and Nina from a message from home this is episode 2 and we're currently we're in a different nature setting this time, we're out by the clouds it might be a bit noisy and if it is it's just a bit of ambience yeah you're just like really this is like kind of one of those ones that you close your eyes to and you feel like you're in the place, in the bubble of everything yeah I mean you might not want to be here with us no maybe not yeah but we're here so yeah it's all good so the first ever episode of message from home is coming out on Sunday that's in two days and we are like so excited to see what everyone thinks of it yeah we'll probably leave like a if you want write us a review and we can see what we can change or make better you could put that on Instagram as well like a lot of questions box for feedback but yeah so message from home one's coming on the it's the 15th I think, some days in November and currently the 13th yes Friday, Friday the 13th spooky, spooky, but yeah so that episode we actually recorded that one quite a while ago now, it was like a month and a half, yeah it was July 26th and we're realising there was so many like we thought it was so rad by Charli XCX, there was so much in that episode but yeah and by now it's just funny that it's already like an outdated reference that people are like sick of I saw this really silly video and it was like when you're caught up in a micro trend and it was a picture of like the Brat cocktail but Brat was crossed out and it said the mirror, oh god yeah, I hate that more than the Brat stuff, oh the mirror stuff, I like I don't even get it like it's just a word you know yeah oh well we're not here to rant about micro trends but we may as well, we're here to do some hot soup, yeah so we asked on our Instagram I think it was a couple weeks ago now, maybe a week ago, yeah it wasn't too long ago, and we got some replies, we asked for all of your hot takes on the Glasgow music scene and here yeah we're gonna be chatting about them, do we disagree, do we agree, yeah, and getting some of our own, do we want to do our own first, or do people's first, then our own, we can do our people's first, some of these ones might cover our own exactly, okay, okay, so number one, should we just go right into it, yeah, all of these are anonymous but they're all from our Instagram followers, yeah we'll be gender neutral as well, yeah, you're not getting any information, and obviously there's a couple that are obviously, yeah, okay, go ahead, okay I'm just gonna go for the first one I'm seeing, it says a lot of the best bands from the Glasgow music scene aren't even from Glasgow, so you'd agree or disagree, I'm just gonna go for the first one I'm seeing, it says a lot of the best bands from the Glasgow, so you'd agree or disagree, I'm just gonna go for the first one I'm seeing, it says a lot of the best bands from the Glasgow music scene aren't even from Glasgow, so you'd agree or disagree, I'm just gonna go for the first one I'm seeing, it says a lot of the best bands from the Glasgow music scene are really cool, like, inspired by the early months. And Strawberry Slutchlade was the other one for me. Yeah, I don't know. I like him, who's even Scottish, there's so many Scottish bands. There's so many. What are you, Beat the Samaritans? Oh yeah, she really likes them. But I feel such a dad when I say that. They're such a dad band. No, but they're good, like, they are really good. I heard that in like, my English, and I was like, fuck me, that's the best thing I've ever heard in my life. I know. They're cool. Yeah. Personally, for me, it was Charlie Manson and Strawberry Slutchlade when I was younger, maybe like, 13. But yeah, that evolved, and when I was younger I also thought, I was like, oh my god, there's like, not even any good music from Scotland, and then you get older and you realise and you're like, oh my god, Scotland is so cool, like, I love being from Scotland. That must be part of like, you know how we all grew up watching like, Disney Channel? Yeah, and you're like, oh I wish I lived in America, and then you realise America's not that great. Yeah, it was interesting. I wanted to be like, Victoria Justice, or whoever, but no, not anymore. Yeah, Selena Gomez and Wizards of Waverly Plain. Awesome. Okay, so that was one hot take. I'll go to the next one. Okay, this one's juicy, right? Okay, okay. Have more friends, you get more shows, it's a fantasy popularity contest, and it'll ruin the scene. Ooh. Well... Agree, or do we like this hot take? Um, I think like, it is unfortunately true. Like, I do, I would agree with this. But, like, I feel like that's just kind of how these things work. What do you think? I agree, I think, if you're a promoter, you know, you're gonna naturally want to show people that you know. Yeah, yeah, they're your friends, that's because you want to support them. Yeah, so it's kind of shit, but like, you do have to just try and put yourself out there. Yeah, it's hard. Especially, you know, you don't really live in Glasgow, so you have to come out to go out. I know, yeah. It's a lot of effort, and also... It's tiring to, like, be trying to go to shows, like, every week or every couple of weeks or something, because you're trying to, like, meet people and remain, as I'm saying, like, but remain relevant. Like, so that people know who you are. If you don't, if you stop going to gigs, then, you know, you feel like people are gonna forget who you are. Yeah. That you don't matter. Yeah, I know. But, um... But, yeah. I think the issue here might be what they're getting at, is that sometimes it can feel impenetrable. Yeah. Yeah, because, like, you know, I've put on people that I've never met, and that's usually what I do. Yeah. I think, like, how do I word this? So, if you're a band and you're wanting to be put on, I think, as long as you're nice and you're approachable... Good social media. Good social media. We've been talking about this recently. I think, like, then it's the promoters, all the promoters... All right, no, I'm gonna start again. Like, um, the promoters maybe can sometimes feel unfriendly or they only want to speak to their friends. I don't think it's ever the artist's fault. Yeah. Unless you're actually a weirdo and, like, you're not a very nice person. Or you don't, like, advertise yourself really well. Yeah. And we've been saying that I think that social media is, like, the main way of, you know... Getting out there. Yeah, yeah. And definitely, like, when we've been putting on gigs, we use social media and we look to see if, like, fans have clips if we've never seen them before. Yeah. That is the most efficient way of, like, finding out about them. Like, finding out their vibe or whatever. Yeah. It's terrible. Sometimes I'll come across a page, I've never listened to the music, but I follow because I think they've got nice photos and things like that. Yeah. And that's just how it is now, I guess. Which can literally be down to anything. Yeah. Like, it might just be that they all dress really well but their music is shit, you know? Exactly. And to the person who wrote this in Instagram, just know that it's probably not your fault. No. Like, it depends who you're speaking to, it depends what scene you're trying to get into. Yeah. Because there's definitely some people who are rude. Yeah. But there's some people who are lovely as well. Just like anywhere. So just keep doing you. And... Keep being yourself. Yeah. Do your own thing. I know it's really scary and it's such an unhelpful thing to say because it can be really hard. But just talk to people you don't know. Yeah. Because you'll find that people actually... Because you end up... When you don't speak to people, you end up making assumptions. Yeah. And people... Even if you do go up and talk to someone, they might be really rude. When you know not to speak to them. Yeah, exactly. But no one's really going to be like, oh, shut up. Don't talk to me. And it would be really silly for... Say if you were speaking to a promoter and they were being rude. It would be really silly if they were being dismissive of you because we're all in it together. It's a tiny scene. I know. You really need to be a bit kinder. As much as the musicians... I know they are. As much as bands have to rely on promoters, promoters are relying on bands. If a band are not saying yes to doing gigs, the promoters are going to be out of a job as well. Yeah. And I think also if you have the money to, you should put on your own gig. Yeah. Because you can then... You have more control. Yeah, you have more control. You can do your own line-up of people that you know. And if you don't know anyone, just get to know people. That's really easy to say, but honestly, just send a DM or if you go to a gig, set up the vibe and introduce yourself. And go with a friend, even if the friend is not involved in music. Because I have been to so many small gigs on my own and I've not known anyone at them and sometimes you just stand in the corner wanting to cry. Yeah. Because it's one hell of a place. Yeah. Obviously, even different venues have different vibes. Sometimes if it's a smaller, more intimate venue and you're not with anyone else, it can feel like you really are the only person in the room who doesn't know anyone. That's why I like broadcasts. I used to like broadcast a gig. When is she ever going to open? Soon, hopefully. I don't know. Actually, venues are quite cute though. I'm going to say that. I feel like... I had a bad experience in broadcast. Aww. I'm not going to go into too much detail because it'll be extremely obvious. A girl, I was with someone else, and this girl who's affiliated with this scene of people, she came up to the person I was with and said, if you want to be invited to the Astros, you just have to go to all the gigs and be part of the clan. They said fine, but you just have to be part of the group to get invited to other stuff. Easier said than done, I guess. I just thought that was a really strange thing to say to someone, though. I know. Those kind of people who are ruining this scene, I would say. Because this person was not in with that group, but they were affiliated. I don't know. What authority do they have? Yeah, it's... I don't know. It's just one of these things. But then you know not to speak to these people, you know? Exactly. You can just do your own thing. Sure. Sure. It's all going to work out in the end. Or talk to us. We're really nice. We're really nice, yeah. And very approachable, may I say. Okay, this one is really silly. Let's go. Don't make me say it. It's a baby emoji with a thought emoji. So I'm only going to assume that that... In reference to... Saltbox. Saltbox. The gold baby, I guess. The gold baby. Saltbox. I mean... Well, if you know, you know. Yeah. I don't know. I don't want to be like... Mean. Mean. Yeah. Just leave that one out. Maybe. Yeah, just leave that out. It gets complicated. Yeah. Okay, this one says... Are we supposed to believe in you saying... What is it? It's like reading out. Yeah. And then just have us go, well. Okay. This one says... Not enough artists take inspiration from Glasgow itself or give the city its due artistically, which it needs. Yeah, so this is kind of what I was referring to about the other one. Yeah, Glasgow is like kind of... Like, sometimes it can feel really depressing, so it's kind of like... Why would I want to? For reference. Yeah. Unless you're like writing about, like, Rennie Malkinson. Yeah. But, like, it's... Sometimes the fact that it is so depressing is what makes it, like, you know... More interesting? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. But then you also want to get used to being, like... Like, you know, I have a flat, and, like, in the West End, kind of, and in Alaska... In the West End, you kind of... It's my whole world. It's my whole world. Stop doubting yourself. Yeah. Like, if I wrote a song being like, oh, it's so grey and depressing, that's just not true to my own experience about Glasgow, because I don't struggle here. Like, I'm a student. I've got my class. Like, I'm happy, you know. But obviously, that's just me, though. But it would... To me, it would... To me, it would come off as disingenuous as a band, too. I guess just writing, like, from your own experience. I don't think this person was specifically meaning, like, being inspired by Glasgow's misery. Yeah. Like, just general greyness. But just, like, anything, really, about the city. Like, it is quite... What can you say? So, like, is it not a bit on the nose to sing about, like, the cloud? I don't think they necessarily mean name-dropping of these places. Yeah. But in general, because how many, like, local artists or Glasgow-based artists do you know that have sung about, like, America, like, Hollywood? A few. I don't know any. I mean, who? Katharina. Oh. I like Glasgow-based. But, yeah, there is a bit of a, oh, I want to get out of Glasgow kind of, like, you know. I kind of agree, though. Like, I don't know. You want to get out of Glasgow? No, like... Fuck off back to Ember and Essex. Oh, my God. I just don't know. But, like, if you've, like, did a song about the Royal Gael, I think that's pretty nice. Yeah. Or... Into the valley. That's... That's just one of the songs they use on their posts, and it always reminds me of him. Who else is written about? I mean, like, Royal Gael, I guess, talking about Glasgow. Yeah. I like where it's just, like, folk-y kind of music. There's, uh, Peanut Sandwich. What does Peanut Sandwich say? It's got a train station and a place called Cheshire today. Oh, My Girl's Life, they say. And kind of trying to cross the road, and people nearly, everybody nearly dies all the time. There's something about, like, crossing the road in Glasgow. I love that song. It's a little bit more subtle. Yeah, yeah. But it's not, like, artistically taken into consideration. I don't know. I don't know. I think we're missing the point of this. Maybe we're not, like, we're not musicians. Although, I was thinking about this one, and I was thinking about how, like, New York is super trendy, and, like, a lot of bands, like, there's one called Being Stellar, and their new album is called, like, Screams From New York, I think. And then The Dare has one called What's Wrong With New York? Yeah. And it's all kind of harking back to, like, a romanticised time of Gotts City. And, like, I wonder if that, maybe that's what Glasgow needs. Romantic? Yeah. I think we're not romantic. No, no. I think it's, like, yeah. Glasgow's still rubbish. Once again, it's not. It's just, like, what can you say about it, you know, like, in a song? I don't know. Maybe we're taking this too literally. I don't think that they actually mean you have to be, like, oh, yeah, then I went to the Hug and Pipe, and then we went to— There's a song about the Hug and Pipe. What? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's in the Hug and Pipe. Yeah, that's, like— That's really, like— It's very niche. I mean, that's a bit taunty, like, isn't it? Yeah. Mundane art in the Hug and Pipe. Like, it's a wee bit, like, come on, guys. Like, we know you like your IPA, but I don't know. Although, if I was to meet her, I would definitely talk about Mono. Yeah, me too. We're going there after this. Or talk about, like, she's our IP. We're, like, single white girl heaven, according to Instagram. Yeah. Kelvingrove Park. Like, the— Kelvingrove Park. I just love Kelvingrove. Don't put that on me. I'm from the West. I understand what they're trying to say. Maybe, yeah, it's a bit virtual what we're discussing. We're, like, why would you want to sing about Buchanan Street? Sustra in a Grain. Oh, no, I would sing about it. I will say, I think a lot of bands use, like, kind of Glasgow-looking artwork. Yeah, true. The kind of tower—I don't know if it's even towers in Glasgow, but they've got this— Like high-rise? Yeah, they've got, like—I mean, that can come off a bit funny sometimes, but it looks good for them. Yeah. Even, yeah, in other ways, in, like, visual kind of ways. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think it's maybe more of a pre-COVID thing that bands used to do, because I was thinking about bands that were really popular in, like, 2019, and a lot of them would talk about, like, the lapels or, like, Baby Strange, like these kind of indie bands. I think maybe, yeah, COVID kind of turned everything, so everyone was in, like, their bedrooms. Yeah. And it became, like, such—like, way more personal and, like, home. You feel a home body. Yeah. Like, you weren't really experiencing anything. Yeah. I mean, there's—one of my favorite Glasgow references in a song is Beth, and they actually sing about Cathcart, which is where I'm from. Oh, yeah. Yeah, they go, um, love, in battlefield, Cathcart, and this is where I'm from. It's cool. It always makes me, like, oh. You're from Glasgow? I also live in Glasgow. Yeah. I was sick and tired of everything when you stole me away. Last episode, you were singing all the time, even though I was singing. Really? Yeah, you kept going, like, I don't know, what were you singing? You just kept going, like, I don't know. I don't know. But, yeah, so. So, I mean, if I would do it, I think we should all do it. Exactly. Um, no, it's actually pretty interesting. I guess other people think Glasgow Romantic, maybe. Maybe. It could be a romantic place. I saw a TikTok that was, like, um, he'll be your—in Stirling for the day, and it was someone, like, romanticizing Stirling, and it was so funny. I'm going to start doing that, like, for—you should do that in Cumbernauld. Yeah, I'm going to Cumbernauld later today, so I'll go down the high street shopping center, and I'll be like, oh, baby, you don't suppose to have a granny here. Maybe a black sheep. No, but actually, like, they used to have a really good roller skating rink at the Cumbernauld shopping center. I was, like, beside it, but it was so good, but it closed down over COVID. Oh, what? Yeah. I think, um, at least in Glasgow, I guess, you could always reference the Highlands, in a way. Exactly, yeah. I think it's more—I don't know, sometimes when people reference Glasgow, it can be kind of like, right, shut up. Yeah, like Monday night at the Huggins. Yeah. But, I mean, with the Highlands, it's more of, like— It'd be a folk artist. Yeah, yeah. Even everyone in Scotland, though, even if you're from, like, a city, everyone kind of goes, oh, the Highlands. Yeah. I don't know, I think—but then, because I'm from there, I find it a bit weird, you know, but maybe I should be more open. Be more appreciative of your country. I'm sure. Yeah, because, I mean, it's an interesting thing, there's a lot to discuss there. Yeah, definitely. Thanks for all these hot takes, guys. Yeah, we've still got a couple more. Yeah. So, there's one here that says—oh, where is it? I just know that one of them says, San Jose O'Shite. Oh, yeah, San Jose O'Shite. We know who wrote this, but I actually really like San Jose. Yeah, they were so good when we saw them at Houseguest. I actually enjoyed it. Yeah. It's not even really my kind of music, but— Not really, but— Brought some energy. I interviewed them as well at Houseguest. Yeah. I was not part of that interview. Yeah, we were supposed to. But they were all very nice. Pretty funny. Yeah. Yeah. So, to get a chance to see San Jose, I think— You should. I feel like everyone in Glasgow has seen San Jose. Yeah, true. But you should still see them more, I guess. True, true. But, yeah, I was weird at Houseguest. I felt like I was kind of—when they were performing, I almost felt like I was in a trance. Oh, yeah. We were really tired that day. I think we were really tired. Yeah. But, like, I just remember kind of just watching them, like, mouths, like, half open, just like, wow, this is really cool. Yeah. Yeah, no, it was really—it was actually a pretty good experience. Yeah. Yeah. So, the other—the next— Better than Filtbox. Agree. I mean, let's be honest. Someone says, all Glasgow venues are pretty shit and really awkward. I agree. Yeah. I agree with the awkward part. Yeah. I don't know, like, there are some good venues in Glasgow. Yeah. But, like, there are some really good ones. You know, some really bad ones. There are some really bad ones as well. But the really good ones are amazing. Yeah. I mean, it's a lot bigger, but the Bowers is just, like, the best venue in the world. I agree. St. Luke's is also lovely. It's good. Like, that's where I was seeing F—I don't know, did I say that? I don't know. I don't think so. So, I went to see Best for their 30th anniversary gig, and the line-up, like, let me just talk about that for a second. It was so good. It was Best, long legs, a yummy friend, Art Brut, and I went— I feel like you'll say that to these people. Everybody knows who they are, okay? I really do, though, so. Yeah. God. How jerk. It was so amazing. I literally went with my dad, and we had the most, like, fun, like, little wholesome evening, but, and it was, like, it was the day after my birthday, as well, so it was, like, a nice little— Retreat. Yeah, like, a little celebratory night, but, yeah, the venue, like, it's just absolutely stunning. I've been there a couple times before, but when they have, like, the, like, stained glass sets up that's, like, lit up from the hang— Yeah, it's really cool. Oh, my God, it's so nice. That's what you can do with, like, the lights. It's really dramatic being at church and everything, so it's, like— And it's so dark, and I like that. Yeah. Yeah. Other good venues in Glasgow? Mono, of course. You've never been to a gig at Mono, have you? No, we saw a bit of that record store deal, but it was— Yeah. The weird thing with Mono is, like, if we didn't, like, gig during the day, we'd still get importers coming in for the dinner and stuff, and I don't know, I think it— Yeah, because you have to close the, like, kitchen or something. Yeah. Yeah. And, but— Mono's lovely, though. It's really cute. I went to, like, a few gigs there. I went to see—I went to see Kim Udolphin there. Oh, really? Yeah. And that was really, like— That would have been so cool. It was in the summer, and I was sweating. That's such a disgusting, like, point. But everyone had to wear masks inside, and I was, like—I was also crying, because, like, I feel like Kim Udolphin's music is very, like, emotional. Like, it's very personal. And, yeah, I was crying, and all the tears and sweat were catching in my mask, and it was really gross. But I've also seen the Chels there. Very, very glad that I got to see them. Yeah. Leticia said earlier, most recently, and I've also seen Micky Berenu. And Thurston Moore. He wasn't playing, but he was. I saw his, like, Q&A thing. Yapping away. Yeah. Yapping away about New York. I mean, that's literally our job. Yeah. I mean, he—it was really funny. He was supposed to be just talking about his book, but he kept going on big, long side tantrums about, like, the lore of, like, the New York music scene, like, in the 70s and stuff. And I was, like, this is so mean. Like, so relatable. The thing is, I was talking about that, but I wasn't even there, you know? Yeah. I was on Facebook. I'm like, guys, I really need to tell you about Jerry Laffin. Yeah. There's another venue I like. I like him—I loved the first two. No. No. No more, though. No. But I actually—I mean, it was binging, wasn't it? Like, it was kind of cool. But that kind of adds character. Yeah. I think. And also, it was, like, iconic. I don't know why. I never went there before. I always have gigs there, so it was always, like— Maybe you didn't enjoy it as much because you thought you had to respond to the— Oh, no. I think I enjoyed it more because I'm an awkward, like, oh, hi. Like, I'm here for the gig. Oh, okay. So you, like, know everyone? No. I don't really know the door, and it's one that you maybe know, but you're not too sure. Yeah. I don't know. Fair. I like—I enjoyed the first—did you like the first musical? I never went. Oh, did you not? No. Shame. I really hope it does. I like Broadcast. I did. Again, we don't know if she's opening again. I know, but it was good. No, but— It was nice. Oh, right. I was—yeah, yeah. It must be very nice playing there, though. Really? You have a gig scheduled for Broadcast. She might have to be rescheduled. I know. She's going somewhere else. I know. It's not—maybe until the start of next year, but, yeah. I'm not the biggest fan of the massive pool that's in the middle of the floor. Yeah. True. They have that in the TV studio in SWDC as well. That is so annoying. Really annoying. But, like, I get it, guys. We don't actually know. The structural integrity of buildings. Yeah. So, what if you're right-handed? You know? But, I feel like—SWD—SWD—SWD, or Sledge. Some people call it Sledge. I don't like it that much. I like the dolls and ices. Yeah. And Poetry Club's quite nice. Is that the big room, or is that the outside bit? I don't—it's the inside. I could be totally wrong. I think it's the outside. Right. I was not outside, so it would be somewhere else. Yeah. It's like—I don't know what the big room is called. No. Because— Well, I think it stands for something in the— Yeah. Or—well, what does the S and the W stand for? I don't know. That's what I was talking about. It's a Wonder Horse in one of those big rooms. Yeah. And I really enjoyed it. I saw Arena Salama there. Oh, really? Yeah. That was really cool. That was my second-ever gig. Oh, wow. Yeah. My first gig was there as well. Peep-a-doo-dee. I love Peep-a-doo-dee. Do you want some awesome noises? I'm worried that it's going to be really noisy. It might be a wee bit. Yeah. But the microphone might help. We can find a— Yeah. I probably should have done that before we did this whole bit. Listen back to it as well. Okay. We'll listen back later. Yeah. What time are we on? Thirty-five minutes. What was your favourite venue in Glasgow then? My favourite venue in Glasgow is Skyland for like a bigger venue. And my favourite small venue is probably Mono or— Maccles. Yes. I sure love Maccles. Maccles. It's adorable. It's awesome. I really like getting there. I'm the same way. Violin's for a big gig and then Maccles for a weird gig. Yeah. Stereo's pretty nice as well. I've never been in stereo. But I like the old hairdressers. Oh, it's nice in there. Yeah. My least favourite is Room 2. Me too. I hate it. I think it's so weird. She's gone. She's dead and gone. I don't like Room 2 because it's meant to have college gigs and it makes me sad. It's so weird vibes. Like, actually, it's so awkward. Yeah. I feel like every time I've been in there, it's like, why am I going into a garage for a start? Yeah. It's like you're going into a car park. You are. Yeah. And then you just go in and you're like, oh, okay. I'm here now. Okay. Is this here? Like, you know, what's going on? Yeah. I was getting a drink at the bar and there was a girl there and I was talking about spoons to someone and I was like, oh, are we going to spoons after or something? And she was like, oh my god, don't go to spoons. Like, you want to go somewhere where people are treated like shit. Oh, wow. Oh, sorry. I didn't know we were in the midst of a social justice lawyer. I mean, she has a point, but she butted in. I know. Anyway, that's what matters. And it's not, like, her place. I mean, this is the only place that you can get a pint for, like, less than five cents. You know in Inverness, they do, like, a Guinness for free A2. That's so good. That's actually pretty good. Well, see, when we were at a rum shack, that, like, cider that I had, it was a Magners, and it was, like, a big, what was it, 500 milliliter bottle or something? Yeah, it was a big bottle. It was only four, four-fifthings? Is that normal? Like, is that okay? I don't know. I think that's quite good. Yeah, for, yeah, because you know, like, you know those nice ciders, the recorder-like ones? Yeah. They're, like, a fiver. Yeah, I know. Or six pounds. Yeah, so I agree. Venues are pretty awkward and pretty shit. Yeah. Also, I think it's noticeable to say that a lot of them are quite inaccessible. Yeah. For, you know, disabled people or, you know, so. So how do you even go about trying to fix that? Yeah, yeah, because a lot of them are, like, old. Yeah, or, like, pubs. Tiny. Downstairs. Yeah, basement venues. Trying to put in, like, a list into it. Yeah. That's just impossible. I mean, speaking of basement venues. Yeah. Oh, there's the new, um, jazz bar. It just opened last night. Oh, really? In Garnet Hill, yeah. Yeah, so I think that's part of Single Ends. Yeah. The grunchy place. Yeah. So it actually looks really nice. It does. Like, the inside looks very, very nice. But, I mean, I just go there for, like, a drink or something. I think it's open from 6 until, like, late, or. Oh, and is it once a week, the jazz night? Um, no. It's Thursday to Sunday, I think. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, my God. I really want to go, actually. I know. No, I can't do that. Sounds good. Looks good. Because there's also the Corset Club, which is a bit of a weird one because you wouldn't think of it. No, yeah. But the. Oh, look at that. Look at that dog bone. It looks like Churchill. Oh. It's dribbling. No. Um, the cocktails are nice in the Corset Club. Yeah, they are. They actually are. Um, but I never really see, like, any gigs there that I'm like, oh, like, I want to go to that. Yeah. Is this a worm? Oh, my God. Where did it come from? I don't know. It looks like a worm. I don't know. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. It looks like a worm. Yeah, should I move on to the next one? Yeah. Let's talk about that one for a while. So this one says, being part of it is the only way to get any traction as a band and it's intimidating. Not necessarily intimidating in a bad way. So this is kind of similar to the other one, I guess. Yeah. The popularity contest one. Yeah, kind of just like the same thing we said for that. Like, yeah, I mean, it's true. The only way to be part of it is to be involved. Yeah. That's like true for anything, I think. I don't think so. And it's still even intimidating, maybe, but I also think that... If you don't know anyone, it's very intimidating. Yeah, but you just have to get into it then, of course. Yeah. But that's also quite scary. You won't know anyone unless you introduce yourself to anyone. Yeah. But then, that is really like... I guess, especially in a time that we're so used to seeing other people on social media and knowing people through social media before meeting them in real life, maybe it's harder because of that, but yeah. I understand people are getting at the kind of quickiness of it because I remember I went to... Like, there's definitely a bit of a snobbery around certain genres and certain different scenes, and I think... Certain scenes? Oh, no. Like, are you referring to me? No, no, no. But I do feel like there's definitely... Some people have a superiority complex. Yeah. Like, not like... Just the overall vibe. I'm not thinking of anyone in general. Yeah. But yeah, it can feel quite intimidating. And intimidating is a funny word because it's usually a reflection on yourself. I'm not saying this about the person who wrote it, but just in general. If you're ever described as intimidating, it's usually someone else just being a wuss. Yeah. And me as well. People used to call me intimidating because I'm quite quiet. Yeah. But I don't know. It's because you're quiet. It's like, oh my gosh, you're so scary. No, I just want to talk. No, no. I just want you to talk to me. So it's intimidating. I guess it's intimidating until you try. And then you just have to try and get into it. Just try. Honestly, it kind of sucks, but you just have to try. And it also depends on the sound of your music. You might want to go find fans who have a similar vibe to you. And if they're not vibing with you, that's not a problem. Yeah. You'll always find your kind of roots in the end and your vibe. When we were like 10, we got a notebook from our aunties from the Zoella collection. And every 10 pages was a quote. And one of the quotes was, your vibe attracts your tribe. Thank you, Zoella. Amen. I don't know. I feel for people. It's really hard. Yeah. I know what it was like. And I know what it sounds like. I still know it. Yeah. I think what I don't like is people pretending to be something they're not. Yeah. I think that's the bigger issue. Because if you're intimidated by people, it's so much easier for people to act like they actually are better than you. Yeah. But they're not. If they were better, they wouldn't be here. They'd be in London or somewhere. They'd be performing at the VMAs. Yeah. Or Chappel. Sorry, that's just topical. I know. Very topical. It probably won't be topical when this comes out. So yeah. This could even come out next Sunday. Oh, OK. Yeah. Ambitious. I know. You can do it though. Yeah. Again, it's like the last one. If you're nice, you'll be fine. You'll find your tribe. Your tribe. And your family. Yeah. They'll be fine. Don't worry. Not that we've really done that. No, not at all. At least I've found you. So cute. At least I'm not completely on my own. Yeah. We do. I appreciate all the people that we're friends with. The people that we know. Even though that we're not really all in the same kind of scene necessarily. No. I mean, it's different because usually I'm so... I'm not being like, well, I don't know. But I do the music business course. So you know people through that and you're doing journalism. So it's a wee bit different. Yeah. The people that I like, you know, my friends from college, they're not necessarily go to gags. They're not interested in music. But yeah, all of your classmates are interested in music because they're doing like a music course. Yeah. Yeah, I get it. So it's just like that. But when I say you'll find your kind of scene, I'm talking more about bands. Yeah, I know. I feel like bands do end up kind of coming together. Yeah. One way or another. Yeah. And even like being in a band, I guess, you have each other. Like you don't have to have all these other friends. I think maybe because I was writing a theme, like it was so isolating. Like I was literally just doing it completely on my own. Yeah. So I went into like going to gags, like just not knowing anybody. So maybe, you know, it's very different like that. Yeah, it's scary. Yeah. Yeah, but if you have a band, you know, you put your shield. Yeah. Also, if you're in a group of people, I feel like other people are intimidated of you. Yeah, exactly. So other people might be looking at you and thinking, oh, my God, they're so cool. I don't want to talk to them. And so, you know. I'm going to see if there's any other points. Yeah, just like. Be part of it. Yeah, but being part of it, you know, that's kind of like. It's just something you have to do. Yeah. And it's difficult, but oh, no, you'll be fine. You will. And the last one we have says, Fake Jiddler and Gig Brother are both better than actually DC. Oh, do they? Yeah, I have. Oh, yeah. I don't know. I guess I keep recording if I. Oh, yeah, it's still recording. Do you want to just like take a picture of it on your phone? Take a picture of what? Like if I show you this, just take a picture of it on your phone so I can go back to the. Okay, I'm focusing. So. I'll just do the fake Jiddler one. Yeah. Okay, so the next one we have says, Fake Jiddler and Gig Brother are both better than BBC Introducing. I wonder who sent that. Yeah, I think some. I mean, a lot of. I don't know. Go ahead. I'm going to be totally honest. I don't really listen to the radio. I've listened to the radio before, but I don't actively listen out. The thing is with Gig Brother, they interviewed some bands that we were working with in college. Yeah. I don't listen to those. Maybe I should have. I didn't. But I'm sure it was pretty interesting. The thing about BBC Introducing, that I have a slight bones pick, they have like their. They do the best bands of the year. There's like the BBC Introducing at 2024. I hadn't heard. I guess it was a meeting maybe. It's all really. It was, yeah. Well, the Bottle Rockers one. Oh, yeah, yeah. I saw that. When the other people play in, there's one called Biasha. I've never heard of her. I don't mean it. That sounds really mean. I don't mean it like never, but I'll just. Who the fuck is that? Irrelevant. So there's one called Biasha from Edinburgh. There was also, I can't remember. I think there was, there was a dude who, I just don't know him, maybe it's because they were from Edinburgh or somewhere else. Yeah. Yeah, I think so as well. I've seen him in Edinburgh, seen him quite different. Yeah, very. Yeah. Sometimes I find with like the BBC Introducing, I think it's cool what they do, and it gives bands really good opportunities, but it seems to be, I don't know why. I think it's good. I think it's really good. Yeah, because anyone can, any artist, they don't become a manager, they can email and ask for their stuff to be played. I think that's how it works. Yeah. So they definitely give a good opportunity to young bands. So, yeah, I like them. And Avanti West Coast. Fake Dribbler just ended recently. Yeah. They can't have been doing. That's so mean. Fake Dribbler just ended, sadly. So, but supposedly more things are to come, so maybe he's going to take over BBC, who knows? Who knows? I follow Fake Brother on Instagram, they seem pretty cool. I'd love to play radio, but like, I don't know. It's so complicated. Yeah. I've listened to like, have you ever listened to like six music or one of these? Yeah. Yeah. That's, yeah. That's like fun to do. But I mean, I only really listen to like specific radio shows if they're doing an interview with a band that I'm interested in, or, you know, sometimes I listen to old radio shows that are like on YouTube and stuff like that. That's kind of cute. I like that. Yeah. It's sometimes like more interesting because, I mean, obviously like, I do media. I'm a media student. But I like to talk a lot about radio and like podcasting and stuff in my classes. And radio, like, we were making a point in class the other day, like, you don't find the same kind of music on Spotify as you find on the radio because the radio is curated by the host's taste and it's just so much more personal and human than you could ever get from the algorithm of Spotify or Apple Music. It's pretty special, isn't it? So, yeah. I wish I listened to the radio more. Yeah. But it is quite inconvenient. I guess that's why they're trying to do apps and archiving broadcasts and stuff like that. Oh, one day, you know the Sub-City Radio with Glasgow Uni? Yeah. I listened to it once and I found some music that I'd never... Yeah. I found some new music and it's music that I still listen to. Exactly. This was like a year and a half ago and it's music that I actually really like. I always take it to a radio show because I'd love to play music I like on the radio. Yeah. But it's really difficult without the copyright. Yeah. You know. It's probably easier than a podcast though. Really? Yeah, I think it is. But you can upload podcasts to Spotify and stuff yourself. Of course. You can just make... It's pretty easy to do, actually. Yeah. Radio, you have to have a good set-up. You have to do the radio... The idea. All that stuff. Yeah. Yeah, no, I like... One time I listened to Radio 1, the first Laudel Rae's album, which has come out and Annie Mack was taking in phone calls from fans and it was actually really cute. Yeah. You know, people from Italy or wherever have been like, she is my favourite artist. I don't know what I would do without her. No, I'm just joking. I'm just joking. She is my favourite artist. She is my favourite artist. I thought that was nice when they do stuff like that. Yeah. Yeah. And also about radio, I suppose. Yeah. We've got one more. We've got one more. We can talk about ours if we haven't forwarded anymore. We've actually been going for almost an hour. I mean, remember, we went for two hours last time and I cut it down to 58 minutes. So, yeah. So the last one that we have is... Some bands play too many gigs with the same band over and over. Lol. Yeah. There's a reason, I guess, for that. There's a reason, I guess, because a lot of the time these bands are under the same management or part of the same friend groups or in other ways associated with each other. Yeah. But on the same labels or just logistical things like that. But I do think that there should be more variety because that's how... If you go to a band because... Go to a gig because you really like a band and then you see the opening act who you've never heard of and you really like them as well and then that's a whole... Anyway, sorry, go on. And that's a whole other band that you've heard of. Sorry, guys. There's police chasing a man. He's running away. That's just why you should... The police should be more affluent. Like, oh, okay. There's a third police officer who's just like, fuck this, I'm not running. Anyway, so that's... Inspiring. That's what Glasgow Band should be about. Yeah, police chasing. Yeah, what was I even saying? You were talking about the bands being all part of the same kind of friend group and scene and all that. Which is true. It's true. But yeah, so I was saying if you go see a band because you really like them and then you like the opening act and then that's like two more bands that you've never heard of before that now you know and you really like because they're not playing with the same people. But sometimes those lineups are just too good and they have to be done again. Or maybe they don't because it's more exclusive that way. I suppose, but I don't know. Yeah, I think that's true. I've seen that so many times, but I've had very similar lineups. Well, I think the gig we were talking about before that we put on at McCool, oh my god, a piece of tree just flew into my face. Our lineup was really random. It was really diverse because we enjoy all of the bands that we put on and so we decided why not just put them all on even though they didn't go together. There was initially, we were going to have a different band because smell is a bit nicer but they couldn't do it in the end so we had to improvise. We still love all the bands that we put on. We did. We had David Moore, BBC and Ona. It was a really fun gig. It was all just different from each other but good. It was all so good. That's what football do. Oh yeah, that was a nightmare. If you're ever thinking of putting on a gig and you want to put it on in a football pub, please look at the match dates. I actually did talk about asking her to do that. Don't do it during the World Cup. Is that what it was? No, it's the Euros. Oh yeah, don't do it during the Euros. Silly girl. Sorry, I don't know anything about football. No, it's fine. I kind of agree with this hot take. Although I also think it's nice to have similar line-ups. Sometimes. Yeah, sometimes. Then it maybe harks back to the point of the person saying it's like a popularity contest and you need to know people. Yeah. But it's never like that for me. Sometimes the other bands get a chance. Yeah, that's true. And sometimes there's a band who you think oh my god, I'm not really into that. But then you see them live and you think oh my god, that person's really good. True. There are a lot of bands that I think are better live. Yeah, for sure. And it's hard to pick bands. And sometimes you just end up having similar line-ups because it's people that you know you can rely on. True. Which is nice. Yeah. Because some people, like musicians are... Sometimes they're really random. Because they're the only people who agree to do it. Yeah. Yeah, that was an interesting one though. I like that. Yeah. So, what are our hot takes? Hot takes. I don't really have any that I could say that wouldn't get me like... That haven't been covered. Or wouldn't get you in trouble. Excel. No, I'm just kidding. It's more just like... In my opinion, some of the popular bands in Glasgow right now are not as good as people make out. Yeah, I mean that's a fair point. Like, I just... I wouldn't listen to them in my spare time. But does anyone? I do. I mean, I do listen to... Do you not listen to like... I do. Yeah. I love like... Tuna Sandwich, Big Girls Live. Love the new Big Girls Live EP. It just came out last night. Yeah. And, yeah, so good. I'm actually going to write a little review on it for Margot's little... Exactly. It's a little one I've been on to keep everything going and not just dying out. Yeah. You're better than me. I haven't been for the past year. But yeah, I think... I guess my hot take is like it's hard to try and stay relevant, I suppose. True. But I think you'll find that everywhere. Yeah. You really have to work for it. Yeah. But, yeah. And there's a lot of... I find this in my course that I do. There's a lot of empty promises of like, oh, you're going to get this job. It's going to be great. You have to choose one thing that you want to hone in on and do that for the rest of your career. But most creative people that you speak to or anyone in the music industry will tell you that they have so many upper skills. Yeah. You can't just rely on just one thing. Yeah. Yeah. What was I going to say? I'm sorry. No, it's fine. I was going to say something else. I can't remember. Oh, yeah. One thing that I think is really obvious is a lot of it, even still, is so laddy. Yeah. Like, it's so, like, boy band. Like, oh, my God, you're so cool. You're wearing sunglasses on stage. Like... And I just can't stand that part of it. Like, I don't know. It's always the work we've done sometimes. Yeah. I'm not even... I'm thinking of small bands who are totally not popular. Yeah, and they have the attitude that they are. Yeah. Like, there's bigger, you can argue, laddy bands that are, you know, still decent people. Yeah. But there's smaller bands. There's one in particular that I'm thinking of. I could, yeah. And there's, you know, they do drugs and... They just, like, think that they're rock stars. Yeah, like, you know, again, like, there's nothing wrong with doing drugs, but, you know, like, you're making a deal out of it and you're talking about it and you're trying to give people drugs. Yeah, no, no. Without their consent. I think that's something else. That's illegal. That is very illegal. And there's one person in particular in the music scene who I think should be... No, in the music scene. I'm not going to say, obviously, but... Just a sleazy person. Yeah. I think there's probably more than one. Yeah, no, definitely. From who I know, there's only one rap in the group. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know, like, Yoshi there. Like, look. I can't say I don't know what Yoshi... I can't say that I know what Yoshi sounds like. I want to remain. Yeah. So I think for, like, every episode we're going to try and do, like, a little section maybe at the start or the end of, like, gigs that we've been to recently. Yeah. Like, new releases that we're enjoying or, like, just songs in general or, like, you know, whatever. So do you want to go ahead and let us know your recent faves? Well, I've not really been to many gigs recently. I really wanted to go to the normal Mean City one but I waited until it sold out. Classic. Have I been... Oh, we saw Slater Kenny. You did! That was cool. And I only know, like, five songs but that's OK. I am a recovering Slater Kenny superfan. Yeah. That was really a moment for me. We are the fans, though. Yeah. Juno Burch opened. Yeah. I'm a pretty girl. I'm a warrior. A pretty girl. That was really silly. That was really silly. I... Oh, my God. Where did I... I saw something. Oh, you're not giving me a second. I was thinking about... I think... Oh, my parents have seen Nick Cave. Oh, yeah. And I... I feel like he's someone I'll be into when I'm, like, older. Yeah, yeah. But, like, I actually kind of wish I was going because, you know, he might die. I mean, he's not even that old, but, like, by the time I like him, he might be dead. So I feel like I need to go and experience his music. No, I feel that way about, like, a lot of musicians. Like, I used to, like, get really anxious about that kind of thing. Yeah, I don't know why. Stevie Nicks. No, actually, yeah. Like, when Christy McVie died, I was, like, way out of my Slater's Mac phase but it was still, like, kind of sad and I never saw Flea and Mac. Yeah. And they were my favourite band for, like, a few years. Not anymore, but... When Sinead O'Connor died, right? No, yeah. That's when I was actually upset. Yeah. Because I haven't seen her, like... There are more, like, relevant ones than Christy McVie. Yeah. Like, recently, Martin Feltz from The Chills passed away. He was the frontman from The Chills. They're from New Zealand. And I really like them. They're, like, one of my top five bands ever. And I just feel really lucky that I got to see them last year. Yeah. Because he was pretty young and it's just, like, it's one of those bands that I have in common with my dad that he introduced me to. Aww. And we got to see them together and it was just really nice, so... Yeah. Yeah, a few years ago, there's two people in Maltings Bar and one of them passed away a couple years ago and I was sad because I'll never get to see them. I mean, they were... I guess because they're not playing together anymore. Yeah, they never really played live anyway. Did they, uh... Does Hope Sandoval still do the warm extensions or whatever? I don't know. She doesn't like to play live. Yeah. She doesn't do interviews. Yeah. She's very mysterious. But she's collabed with, like, Massive Attack. Yeah. It's a bit like Liz Fraser from Stockton. Yeah. Both exceptional. I love them so much. So, yeah, I'll never see Maltings Bar, which makes me a bit sad. I'll never see Broadcast. But Trish Keenan died, like, quite a while ago. It was 2013 or 2012. Yeah. Yeah, really, really, really sad. But there's people who are still alive, who are still playing, like John Cale from The Velvet Underground. Yeah. I think that's really cool. I should probably go see it because, like... Gina Burch from The Raincoats. Exactly. The Raincoats actually still play together, like, but only really in, like, London. Oh, okay, yeah. You have to travel. Yeah, yeah. I love them. Yeah, there are lots of bands that I've seen that, like, I thought maybe I wouldn't get the chance to see, not because they would have died, but, like, I thought they would never, like, do a reunion, but I've seen one, like, three times now since they reunited, and every single time I'm like, oh, my God, I'm seeing that again. Yeah. Like, Stereolabs, yeah, they obviously are without Mary Hansen, but they're still... Is she dead? Yes, she died in 2002, so... But I've seen them twice as well, and, yeah, they're all just, like, so amazing. Yeah, that's cool. But, yeah... I guess you still have people around. I've just got... I've just got Gabin, one of my... It's not a while ago. It doesn't mean, like, please. He's, like, he's sexy. Okay. My mum is... My dad is, like, six years old. My dad's... Turning 57 next month. Oh, wow. Yeah. Oh! I know, old parents. I wish they were younger, but... I know. Don't get me started. But, yeah... But music I've been listening to... Yeah. Can we go back? Can we just start talking and move on back? I know. I don't know what to keep saying, though. Yeah, no, yeah, that's fine. Well, obviously I've been listening to Wonder Horse. I was seeing them early October, so... I'm really excited. At a bar? Yes. Oh! I'm so excited! And I've been listening... It's a bit controversial, but... At the moment, I really like the Red House Painters, but... Basically, the singer is, like, a sexist. But their music is amazing. Oh, God. Okay. It's so good. But he's not a good person. I wouldn't recommend him. Would you go and see them? Um, I don't know. That's the kind of, like... That's the dilemma. Yeah. I probably would, to be honest. Because it's, like, would you get some money? Because, technically, then that's supporting them as a person, rather than just as, like, an artist. Although I would say they probably don't make that much money from, like... Yeah. True, true. I mean, I can listen to them on Spotify, because, like... They get nothing from that. They get nothing. Yeah. I would maybe go see them. I don't know. Yeah. I'd have to think about... It depends what he's done. Because I've only heard... And then, like, the sexist arrogant. Yeah. So, I've heard he, like, exposed himself to a girl. Oh! That's just really weird. Yeah, no. Um... Anyway, moving on from them... No. I probably don't even need to mention them, to be honest. Because... Yeah. But... Listening to Blonde shout... Heinz are good. Do you know Heinz? No, I don't. They're from Madrid. Madrid? I'm wondering... Yeah. Let's not listen to what you're listening to. Um... I'm listening to... Honestly, like, a lot of the same stuff right now. I think. I think a lot of my music taste has kind of stagnated recently. Yes. Especially in the past year, it's very similar. I was actually doing a thing in college that we were, like, talking... Like, predicting what our Spotify raps would be like this year. Mm-hmm. And I feel like it's going to be really similar to what it was last year. I've been listening to a lot of Art Brut. I saw them at St. Luke's, as I mentioned earlier. They're an English band. And they're really silly. But I really like them. And they have all this, like, just... I don't know. I like their first album. It's... Yeah. It's just... I don't know. I don't want to say silly again, but it is kind of silly. But it's really fun. And I don't know. I just like the vibe. For them, I've been listening to a lot of Broadcast, as always. Stereolab. Like, I think it's because I watched a few interviews, Broadcast interviews with, like, Trish Keenan and stuff, that I was like, I want to listen to them more. And actually, I think I'm going to, after we record this, go to Monoreal and buy Broadcast Records, because I have almost all of them. But there are a couple that I don't have. But, yeah. But, yeah. And then, also, like, just the usual. The Cat's Meow. Love them. This, again, Pavement. Pavement always comes back into my rotation. Yeah. Well, they're always in my rotation. But they always, like... I also listen to them more. And Awesome. Yeah. Oh, yeah. It's, like, this unconscious kind of thing. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I saw them in Awesome when I saw them in concert. The Chills. People have got a Glaswegian band called Ganger from the 90s. They're kind of like Torches, if people know who that is. But, yeah. My dad was talking about them, because after we saw Best, I was asking them... Asking them. I didn't say them. My dad. I was asking him. So, after we saw Best, I was asking my dad if he, like, had seen Best before. And, like, he... I think he's seen them. He saw them at Spring Garbage. Yeah. So, he's also... I was asking him about Other Rans. So, he was talking about this Tassels gig at King Tut. And he was talking about how he was talking to Manda Rans from Best. But, like, it was, like, a very brief conversation. And he realised that it was the day before their first Peel session came out. Best's first Peel session. And also on the line-up for that night were this band called Ganger. And I... Yeah. So, yeah. They're good. They're from Glasgow. Fun. If you want to ever know about Glasgow music, just ask me now. Yeah. Just ask me. Oh, yeah. That's true. I'm sure there are people more qualified than me. But, you know, I'm always here. So, yeah. So, a lot of our fireworks are ringing by the Tassels. I don't know why, but I've been listening to that, like, every single day. Like, I don't know. Maybe I don't know. But, yeah. Lots of... Not much variety, actually. Well, it sounds like a lot of variety. I was just going to say, like, my very not-undergone point. Yeah. Rachel has many discs on YouTube. Oh! Like, just demos of their songs. Yeah. Or, like, I listen to them. I found that I actually really like watching live performances. Yeah, I do that a lot. See, if I get into a band, I'll always, like, watch their live videos. Yeah. Because I think it, like... You can, like, get their vibe from watching it. I don't know. And how they, like, enchant. Yeah. It's more entrancing. It's really, like, nice to see that sometimes. There's, like, so much Stereolab live videos on YouTube. And I love watching them. Yeah. And then, also, there's not too much broadcast. But that's what I've been watching recently. Yeah. And there's that pastel thing. Oh, no, the police are back! Oh! Are you wearing gloves? Why's he got gloves on? Oh, God. He's got his hand up his arse. No, of course not. Oh, my God. What am I going to say? No. That's not funny, you guys. My grandpa was a police officer. But he was a... I don't know. I don't know. There's no need for me to say that. No. Okay. So. We should probably wrap up, then. Yeah. Oh, well, I don't say my recent gags. Well, fuck sake. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. I haven't really been to that many gags recently. There's the Perfect Kenny one, the best one. And... Hmm. Hell. I really like to go to the Bad Girls Boys EP one. He's a secret. He's a private investigator. He's not a private investigator. Undercover police. Undercover. Yeah. That's not funny. Um. Oh, my God. Hell. I also didn't go to the No One Means That to You one because it was the same night as the best one. You have to make your choices. Yeah. And I already had tickets to the best one, so, sorry. Um. Is there any gags coming up that you want to talk about? Oh! Leticia Serrier! Again? No. No, no, no. That was just a recent one. I saw her at Mono and Pink Shabab opened. I felt really bad for him because everybody was just, like, so not enthused. I was like, come on, guys. I wasn't really. I was also probably looking very unenthused. But, yeah, so she was absolutely incredible. She was with her source ensemble. Like, it was actually just, wow. I didn't expect them to be so loud. Like, that sounds so weird. But it was just really, like, all-consuming kind of music. Like, it was very good. I always thought so. Oh, yeah. That was fun. But, yeah. And then I met her afterwards and I was really, really awkward. And she was really, really chill and tall. She's really tall. Yeah. Tall and not thin. Or I'm really short. I don't know. Super tall. But, yeah, so she signed my record and I almost, like, cried. No, I'm just kidding. I didn't cry. For me, no. I was just super, like, awkward. And I don't know. What would I have said? I was thinking the whole time, like, before I went up. I was like, okay, I'm going to, like, tell her I really like her new album. Like, it's totally my favorite of her solo albums. And then I got up there and I was like, oh, hi. And, like, I didn't even say anything. And she was like, what's your name? She said she liked my earrings. Nina. She liked my earrings. Nina. Yeah, so I will never wear other earrings again. No. I'm wearing other earrings. Yeah, so that was very fun. And, like, kind of, like, life-affirming. That was a big exaggeration. But, yeah, no, no, yeah. So, we're an hour and 21 hours. I think that's right. It's probably been cut down a lot. Yeah. Yeah. So. There's a ton of gigs coming up that you're looking forward to. Um. I think I'm doing really well, actually. Just honestly, none that I can think of because I've not looked into it. Memorials are playing in October. Oh, okay. And I'm really looking forward to that. Are you going to go? Maybe. You should. Okay. Yeah, I do. You've got to come to Los Angeles. What day is it? I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember. I can't remember.
