The walking meditation encourages us to settle into a gentle rhythm as we take one step at a time. We are asked to pay attention to how our body feels, the way our feet connect with the ground, the movement of our arms, and the rhythm of our breath. We are also prompted to notice our physical surroundings, the sounds we hear, and the sights we see. By deepening our awareness of our senses, we can have a more profound experience of the world around us. The meditation ends with a reminder to keep going, keep moving, and trust the path ahead of us. Welcome to this walking meditation. Let's start by putting our body in motion. Setting ourselves down a walking path or maybe wandering through our yards. Letting that beautiful rhythm settle into our body. Simply taking one step at a time, one foot in front of the other. As we settle into this rhythm, let us take a moment to tend to our body. Maybe rolling the shoulders, wiggling the hips, maybe lengthening our strides for just a moment. As we settle into our bones and we settle into our muscles, we settle into this nice walking rhythm. Taking a moment to just appreciate the movement and the support of the body. As we move into this nice gentle rhythm of walking, let us first bring our attention to the way that our body feels with this movement. Noticing the way that our feet are connecting with ground. Noticing the way that our arms are swinging with movement. Noticing the rhythm of our breath. And bringing your attention into the way your skin feels. Do you feel the sunshine? Do you feel wind? Do you feel hot or cold? Allowing yourself a moment to take inventory of the physical experience of this movement. Noticing how the body feels. And allowing that awareness to move into the sense of sound. What do you hear? What's happening around you based on what your ears are receiving? Based on what your ears are receiving. Spending the next several steps letting your ears lead. Trying to isolate specific sounds. And then once again allowing the awareness to evolve into the sense of sight. Opening your eyes wide and taking in the world from your current position on earth. Letting your eyes move across the landscape in front of you. Taking in all that you see. Very gently and slowly allowing your neck to rotate in various directions. As you take in all around you. Making sure to look up. As well as looking down. Keeping the body moving with a gentle rhythm of walking. Trusting this process of movement. One that has been a part of you for a very long time. One foot in front of the other. Keep going. As you continue down this path. Check in with your senses. Deepen your experience of the world around you. By noticing the way things feel. The way things sound. And by what you see. And by what you see. Allow yourself to be captivated by this path. Taking a deep breath in. And as you exhale make a commitment to yourself to keep going. To keep moving. And to trust the path ahead of you. Thank you.
