These recommendations are influenced by what we watch, look at or search up. This means there will be many products and advertisements trying to catch you and make you buy the product. This means you'll end up spending most of your time on devices and buying things you do not need for an expensive price. There are many platforms that get us addicted to our devices. These include platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and much more. These programs track what you search or watch and may play lots of videos or show lots of information about those things that you watch. For example, if I watch lots of videos about cars or see lots of related car videos on my home page, car products popping up in ads and information about cars. Personalised recommendations online are not necessarily a bad invention. They keep us interested in what we watch and they give us insights about what we watch. They only become wasteful when we become addicted to them. This will keep us addicted to our devices which will mean we are not keeping up our fitness which is not healthy for us. You must not get addicted to our personalised recommendations although they are still perfectly fine to watch every now and then.
