The transcription tells the story of a little girl who used books as a way to escape from the difficulties in her life, such as her parents' divorce and her mother's constant trips to the hospital. She found solace in books, using them to distract herself from the harsh realities she faced. As she grew older, she faced negative experiences and thoughts from her father, but books continued to be a source of comfort for her. Reading and writing became her lifeline, giving her a sense of peace and purpose. The little girl, who is now the narrator, found her worth and believes in the power of books to inspire and uplift. Books, with their stories and characters, provide a constant reminder of the person she was meant to be. There once was a little girl who grew up too quick from the divorce of her parents by the age of six. To escape the mess, she would quickly find a picture book, a way to escape again by flying with Peter Pan and sword fighting with Captain Hook. The constant hospitals the little girl grew to know was the place that her mother would constantly go. So, she'd bring a book, one with fun adventures, to help distract the reality that she'd have to face after. And whilst she'd grown, she would face the constant words that one would call lies, that shaming and narcissism from her father and negative thoughts that persistently cloud her mind. So, once again, she'd escape into books of romance that'd whisper her sweet nothings. At least then, she knew that the words written would never hurt her. These books were a blanket, a band-aid perhaps, to all the past traumas that made her lose track. Lose track of all the worth that she had left. Only a few words on a page that a mere stranger had wrote. A quote about faith and love. A quote about hope. That little girl was me, but now I found my truth. Truth about my worthiness that I can now follow through. Writing my thoughts down into words that don't have to make sense. Brought me a type of peace within my world that I had made from the simplicity of paper and pen. Reading and writing saved my life. A type of hug that wouldn't let go, even when I'd cry. The words I write and read mean so much more to me. It gives me hope and purpose to the little girl that was able to believe. Believing in the fairy tales and the dreams do come true. My distractions from reality were these made-up characters that I had fallen in love with, too. A book will always be there. The story will never leave. Always there to remind you of the things you were always meant to be.
