Freedom37: What I Remember, What I Don't

Remembering another bunker complex, the one I didn’t see. I was in it before I knew it; Thank you God that no one died, that time, because of me. Horrific sounds of a firefight- the deafening crack of rifles, screams swallowed by chaos, and that choking smell of cordite hanging in the air. The colors of smoke grenades in the sky and my feelings of utter despair. I remember the faces of all my squad but I can’t recall their names.
