Long ago, in a distant place, there lived a cheerful and wise people called the viytsy. They were small but brave creatures with sharp minds and kind hearts. They lived quietly, avoiding attention and adventures, but adventures always found them. They lived in a village on the outskirts of a dense forest, covered in thick fog. Every winter, six brave villagers would journey to the heart of the forest to meet the forest spirits and offer them generous gifts in exchange for the magical fireflies, called luxi, which provided warmth and light in the freezing winter nights. The journey through the enchanted forest was unpredictable, with paths leading in circles, animals and birds getting in the way, and trees showering the travelers with snow. The spirits enjoyed playing tricks, but the viytsy persisted, fueled by warm kisel and endless chatter. After hours of wandering, they would reach a magical clearing basking in the enchanting sunset rays.
