Hello everyone, and welcome back to this week's episode of Film Fanatic, where I dissect movies in ways most people would never want to. If you're new here, hello, welcome, I'm Molly Burns, and I have a weird obsession for movies. I majored in film in college, so I have an insight on movies that most people would find odd, but you all seem to really enjoy it. I'm not sure if many people know this, but I've always been a really big Elvis fan, and I've always been very interested in his life. My dad was always a huge fan of him, and almost named me Elvis, which thank god he didn't. That being said, I just recently watched a new Priscilla movie, which was recommended to me by a friend of many years, who's also a big Elvis fan. This movie is basically about Priscilla, who is married to Elvis Presley, it's all about her take on the marriage, just her point of view in general. Though this movie was good, and I mean really, really good, it took a whole different perspective on the life of such a rockstar, who everyone loved, it showed Elvis in a light that most people didn't see him in, and definitely one that many people probably wouldn't want to see him in. Funny enough, I won't be talking about that movie today. Instead, I will be discussing the actual Elvis movie that came out last year, because the Priscilla movie was great and all, but it made me realize I never discussed the first one when I felt like, as an avid fan, I needed to do the Elvis movie first. These movies have similarities in the way that Elvis acted, but the Elvis movie had it on such a smaller scale than the Priscilla movie, because it's from a different point of view. There's absolutely no doubt that Elvis was a greedy guy. You really realize it just by the way he's presented throughout the whole movie. And if you're a person who's never really known much about the life of Elvis beyond fame and glory, you may not know how much he put his greediness over absolutely everything in his life. He let it consume him, which is never a good quality of a person. Nobody wants that. What sucks is he wasn't like this until he met his boss, the Colonel, and it's crazy how you can have some sort of mentor, and he can change an entire person's personality just by forcing things on them. Shiny cars, crazy outfits, constant exhaustion just to get rich and have a larger-than-life persona sounds like too much if you ask me. I'm happy where my life is, happy sitting in my basement studio and using my film degree for things others can enjoy. As always, I hope these analyses don't make me sound insane.
