A Köbes in Cologne is a waiter in a traditionell brewing house. Köbes means in Cologne dialect Jakob. In the past, the "Way of Jacob" pilgrims, make stop in Cologne to visite the reliques of the "Three holy Kings" in the Cathedral. To earn money, the pilgrims worked as waiters. So the Cologners called them Köbes/Jakob. A "Köbes" is a special kind of waiter... ...very special! Furthermore our tomcat is called Köbes! A lazy, stupid and lovely contemporary...
