AI has had a significant impact on education, but it also has negative effects on workplaces. The use of AI robots in server roles contributes to unemployment. AI lacks human abilities like intuition and creativity, which are important in marketing and customer interactions. AI can be biased and limited by the data it is fed. People are becoming lazy due to AI, and workers are concerned about losing their value and creativity. AI in healthcare raises privacy and ethical issues. Patient data must be safeguarded and protected. Thanks, Shane. It is clear that AI has made a huge impact on today's education system, but its use has had negative impacts on workplaces as well. Have you ever come across AI robot server videos and think about the dystopian movies involving robots taking over the world? Each time I notice how artificial intelligence plays an integral part in the lack of civilization. It's kind of scary to think about. In the United States, there are over 2 million individuals working as servers. These people work to support themselves and their families. The use of AI adds to the unemployment crisis. According to CBS News, AI accounted for 3,900 job losses in May, or almost 5% of total job losses. According to employers, it is the seventh highest cause of employment losses. While AI is capable of producing and automating a wide range of marketing tasks as well as data-driven insights, it falls short when it comes to creativity. It is missing human abilities like intuition, strong emotional connections, and critical thinking. When dealing with consumers, emotion plays a huge part to ensure there are happy customers. AI algorithms only use data and predetermined patterns they can lose out of novel or unconventional marketing strategies that call for human intuition and creativity. It cannot develop new concepts or ideas on its own. AI can only be as intelligent as the data it is fed. Its creativity will be biased and limited if the data is prejudiced or restricted. Human creativity is limitless. AI also has trouble with ideas that depend on context and culture, like comedy or sarcasm. But because AI exists, people are becoming more lazy. According to the article, Does Using AI Make Me Lazy? by the website WIRED, 29% of the UK's workforce and 46% of US workers use generative AI and traditional AI on a weekly basis. And workers are becoming increasingly concerned that ultralizing AI would diminish their value and reduce their capacity for creativity. When ultralizing AI, we tend to engage our brains less because there is no need for recollection of information or problem solving. Future generations may experience issues as a result of this AI addiction. Not only is creativity and the value of working going to diminish, but there are also concerns of privacy. AI in the healthcare has the potential to raise privacy and ethical issues. Patient data and medical information is crucial in the healthcare industry. According to the article, Privacy and Artificial Intelligence, Challenges for Protecting Health Information in a New Era by the website BMC Medical Ethics, The use of AI through public-private partnerships has led to poor privacy protection. There are more data breaches in hospitals every day. More systematic supervision of big data health research has thus been demanded. It is critical to take into account safeguarding patient privacy, upholding data confidentiality, and avoiding unwanted access to private medical records. With that, my bit on the implementation of AI and its effect on the workplace comes to an end. Hopefully you found this insightful and informative. And now I pass it on to Jacqueline to talk about the implementation of AI in the entertainment industry. Thank you for listening.
