What if the Christian does not confess his sins

Thank you for your precious time. My name is Guy Vermeulen, Servant of God, Servant of Jesus Christ. I am wondering, what do you think about the fact that the Christian doesn't have to repent after receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord? We have heard a lot of testimonies from some Christians who support the idea that once God's grace is received, repentance is no longer necessary. They support their point by the fact that the blood of Jesus is powerful and covers past, present and future sins. They add that Jesus accomplished all, then it is finished. What do you think of this testimony? Right from the start, I would point out that this message concerns the confession of sins of Christians and not that of potential Christians. That's the first thing to note. Now, regarding this topic, I just want to say that we cannot truly understand the love of God if we do not understand the legal aspect of spiritual life. We all know that God has sent his own Son to die for man. Jesus had to bear the guilt of human sin. God had to send his Son to be crucified to satisfy justice and enforce God's judgment against us. Remember our previous podcast on how to fulfill our righteousness. We talk about what Jesus told the John the Baptist when they first met. Let it be so now, it is proper for us to do this to fulfill our righteousness. Matthew chapter 3 verse 15. We know that, in general, God cannot save man without taking into account their sins. In other words, we have come to Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins because we have recognized and confessed them. These apply to any believer who comes for the first time to God to faith in the Lord Jesus. Now, if we are already Christian, if we are already in the kingdom of God, we are still going to confess our subsequent sins. The danger is that our unconfessed sins are not covered by the blood of Jesus Christ. You see, if God is to save us, forgiveness is necessary. If forgiveness is necessary, then the confession of sin is also necessary since there is no forgiveness for a sinner who refuses to recognize his sins. Yes, it is true. The blood of Jesus is powerful and scares certain kingdoms. It is also true that Jesus has accomplished all at the cross of Calvary. However, God cannot forgive us our sins just by snapping His fingers. Why not? Well, because He cannot deny Himself according to 2 Timothy chapter 2 verse 13. He cannot put Himself in contradiction with the person He is, that is, a person who is just and holy. It is a person who seeks forgiveness that must confess his sins. We all know that God is perfectly loving. He is also perfectly just and upright. By virtue of justice, He is obliged to do so, I mean, to grant forgiveness to those who recognize their wrong, not to those who do not. God has no choice but to do otherwise. Let's remember this. The wonderful gesture of love demonstrated by God in allowing the crucifixion of His Son must be understood in the context of God's legal obligations. It is only in the light of His justice that God's love takes on its full meaning. We then understand why God had to pay such a high price to guarantee our redemption. But it also means that Satan can use this same righteousness against us whenever we sin. For any unconfessed sin, it is as if we were handed certain ammunition to attack us at the heavenly court of justice. It is as if we were handed Satan's stick to beat us with. If this is the case, then what should you do? Would you continue saying that you received Jesus already and therefore your repentance is no longer necessary? Friend, you can be sure that Satan will take every opportunity to complain to God about our behavior, and God has an obligation to respond to Satan favorably. He must respond fairly and equitably. He cannot ignore Satan's demands when they are based on true facts. The fact that we have committed sin and we fail to confess them, it is this same righteousness that sent Jesus to the cross. Understand this very well. It will be very difficult for our Lawyer, that is Jesus Christ, to defend us if we do not declare the evil we have done. Our refusal to confess our sins as Christians can make the Lawyer's work impossible. Yes, Satan will use everything he knows about divine justice to have you in his possession. However, it is possible to bind the wrist of our Defender, Jesus Christ, through behavior that nullifies any possibility of defending us. He may be powerless to do anything for us. Evil is omnipotent, yes, but that does not mean that he can act without justice. In Matthew, we read that Jesus did not perform many miracles in Nazareth, not because his power to heal was somehow reduced, but because of the people's unbelief. Jesus' hands were somehow tied by their lack of faith. In the same way, his hand may be tied by disobedient conduct on our part. Praise the Lord! How then should our conduct be so that Jesus can defend us? Well, let's read 1 John 2 verse 1 to 2. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not, and if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. Hallelujah! Yes, Jesus is our Advocate, our Defender. Now why is Jesus our Defender? Well, because he is the propitiation of our sins. The verse 2 says this, and he is the propitiation of our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. You know, Jesus' death was enough to cover all the sins of the entire world, but does this mean that all the sins of the entire world are automatically forgiven? No way! What else is needed then? Let's go back two verses earlier to 1 John 1 verse 9. There it is written, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Here then is the condition, brother, a confession is necessary. We must confess our sins even if we are in the Kingdom of God. To give the healing in grace our hearts always hunger for. Hallelujah! To conclude, I would say that becoming a Christian is a very important step, but being Christian is not the end, it is only the beginning of a very long process. To say that Jesus has accomplished everything, that the confession of sin or repentance is no longer necessary, is to ignore the righteousness of God. So it is absolutely essential to confess our sins to God daily, if we are experiencing a situation of sin, and if we want to rectify it, we must confess it. Hallelujah! Without recognizing our wrongs, we are preventing Jesus from defending us. How could he do his job as a lawyer? Anyone who knows what Satan is capable of doing in matters of righteousness cannot help but take sin very seriously. Friend, eternal life is knowing Christ. Is it safe to enter into a relationship of affinity with Christ if we refuse to repent? Point of correction, when Jesus said it is finished, it was in relation to himself. He was saying that he has done all the will of God. This is just an example he has given us. Now it is your turn to do his will. What if the Christian does not confess his sin then? Well, he would not be forgiven, even if he is already in the kingdom of God. He has nothing left but to cry over spilt milk. Well, we have come to the end of today's dissertation. If I have anything to contribute to your reflections, I would say there is a need to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. However, it is even better to know the will of the Savior.
