The teacher, Miss Sessions, welcomes the families to the online class and emphasizes the importance of family engagement in students' success. She plans to create a positive and engaging learning environment with well-organized schedules, interactive lessons, and hands-on projects. Themed virtual field trips, science experiments, creative writing, art projects, book club discussions, and a virtual talent show are some of the activities planned for the year. Miss Sessions encourages parents to actively participate in their child's education through open communication, participating in activities, supporting homework, and encouraging reading and exploration. The newsletters will provide volunteer opportunities and surveys to involve parents further. The goal is to create a thriving learning environment for students. Welcome to our online class. This is to the families. I hope this message finds you all well. My name is Maisie Sessions, or I go by Miss Sessions for the kids, and I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year in our online classroom. I am super passionate about creating a positive and engaging learning environment, and I'm really excited to start this educational journey with you and your child. To foster a really strong connection between our home and our school environment, we are launching these newsletters that will help involve you in our classroom activities and keep you updated on all of our things. I believe that when families are engaged, it helps the students thrive. In our class, students can expect a well-organized schedule that promotes both learning and creativity. We will explore various subjects through interactive lessons, group discussions, and hands-on projects. My goal is just to inspire them to have a love for learning and help every student reach their full potential. I hope that they feel okay to come to me with questions, and I hope that you feel okay and comfortable to come to me with questions. Just to give a little outline of the school year and give you an idea of what activities your students may be a part of, we'll be doing a few themed virtual field trips with the students. These will be done online, but students will be able to look at museums and national parks and different historical sites that we can connect to our history lesson and other lessons as well. It will be a fun experience for us all to do together. Other activities we'll be doing is every month we'll be able to conduct science experiments that students are able to do at home. I will make sure to share any supplies you may need and how long those will take, and then we'll be able to share results and have class discussions about these activities. Another activity is we'll be doing a lot of creative writing, especially students will have the chance to participate in themed writing prompts and share these stories with their friends and classmates and get feedback on their writing. Other fun activities will be some art and craft projects, because I feel that art integration is a large part of children's education in elementary school. And so we will have these monthly art sessions where students can create art based projects about the overall theme of what we're learning in class. And then this artwork will be shared in newsletters and different things to promote better learning. Other things we will be completing, we will be doing book club discussions. Each quarter will be assigned a different book to read and hold class discussions where students can share their thoughts about the books and answer discussion questions. We will also be doing a classroom talent show, which will be done virtually. But towards the end of the year, students will be able to show all of their unique talents, whether that be singing, dancing or any other special skill they want to share with the class. These activities are designed to keep students engaged, help them with their creativity and build a strong classroom community. And I'm looking forward to have an exciting year with all these activities with them. Now, for parent involvement, I feel that parent involvement is a huge component of student success and a key element in our online classroom. I just want you to know that you can play an active role in your child's education in a few ways are open communication. I encourage you to reach out any time with questions or concerns and any feedback you may have. I take it in and it's very valuable to me. And I feel that our communication helps us work together effectively. Another thing I would invite you to participate in activities such as virtual field trips and art projects. Your involvement can really help your child's learning anything to support you and the student at home. You can help by discussing school topics with your child, helping with homework and encouraging reading and exploration of anything they're interested in. And then on these newsletters, we will also be putting out volunteer opportunities, surveys. And of course, you'll get the newsletter every month when parents are involved and families are involved. Students feel more supported and motivated to succeed together. We can create a thriving learning environment for you and your child. So thank you for being a vital part of our classroom community. Thank you for your support. And I look forward to working together for a wonderful school year. Thank you.
