In 2004, I obtained my first traditional kora from Cote d'Ivoire. In 2011, I purchased a kora from Keur Moussa in Senegal and in 2021, I purchased a kora from Burkina Faso. It was only in 2021, during the pandemic, that I started to seriously learn the kora, first through YouTube and later through videos from Josh Doughty and now through the Jaliya app.
