Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to KBT High School for our K Senior Night. Let's get our festivities started with our first senior of the night, number one, Aniyah Lewis. Aniyah is being supported by her mom and dad, Natasha and Anthony Lewis. Aniyah says that the biggest influences in her life are her parents, and they push her to be great, especially when she's down on herself. Aniyah plans after high school to go on to college and play volleyball. Her biggest achievement she's most proud of is being able to play after her ACL injury. Her most memorable moment is when the spike ball fell hard and hit a player in the neck. Some words of positive advice for the younger teammates, she says, to all my rural girls, handle it, make sure, have as much fun as you can, because I'm going by fast. To all the rest of my younger teammates, just know that you will have bad days, but that doesn't mean you give up. And if she could do anything differently, she would work on her mindset, and wish that she could have had a chance to lighten her position. Ladies and gentlemen, one more time for Aniyah Lewis. Our next senior is a little arrow number three, Brianna LeMay. Brianna is being supported by her dad, Joshua LeMay, and her sister, Haley LeMay. Some influences on her while she was in high school is her mom, and they push her every day to be the best version of herself on and off the court. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year college and major in psychology. Some achievements that she's proud of, academic off-stage, along with her only three school records in volleyball. Our most memorable moment, she says, when we had a situation with Marleesha Nichelle and Coach Bob Walsh eating at the Capitol. If she could do one thing differently this year, she says, I want to say, Amy, you're great. I thought I had all the time in the world, but when I blink, it's almost already over. Some words of advice for the younger teammates, she says, be pushy. You can't expect results in a day, and it takes time and effort. To develop, you have to be pushy no matter what anyone says. You have to believe in yourself and always give 100%. Don't be shy to run the back row and take control. To Nichelle, thank you for always making me laugh when you ripped up the ties. You always keep a smile on my face. To Cookie, thank you for always patting my back no matter what, even when I'm wrong. And to Ty, thank you for always having a nice thing to say and always being kind and patient. Ladies and gentlemen, one more time for Rihanna Lameed! Our next speaker, the captain, number four, Nakaira Coates! Nakaira is being supported by her mother, Nakaya Jones. Some big influences in her life. Her friends, Dr. Walters, Mrs. Mountain, Coach Pompier, Coach Love, her mom and family, along with many more adults and athletes. Her plans after high school is to attend college and continue her athletic career. To a teacher that she's most proud of is having a 4.2 GPA and winning the state game track. Some of her most memorable moments were being outside there and to tell a story with, by borrowing Coach Pompier's picture off the team. And if you can do anything differently this year, she says more team bonding and not dwelling on the past. And take more risks when she turns 18. Some words of advice for her younger teammates? To the young, I don't know where I'd be without you. But you're going to be great at whatever you decide to do in the future. Your attitude has changed tremendously and I'm proud of you. To Bree, you are so strong. Continue to be a strong, confident person you are. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you. To Makaya, you're one of the most positive people that I've ever met. I'm so proud of you. And you can see me that after you've left the firm that you are, don't change for anyone. To Naya, I wish you the best in everything you do. To Nature and Kendall, I have more confidence in yourselves. You're only as good as you believe you are. To Sophie, continue to communicate. You've grown so much in that and trust yourself. To Liz, it's all on you now. Continue your lovely personality and get it better each day. To Karma, you've come a long way and we're all very proud of you. And to the fresh, to the fresh Lolita aka V-Mon, stop getting down on yourself when you mess up. Believe in yourself. I'm going to miss all of you and I'm proud of every single one of you. Ladies and gentlemen, one more time for the Makaya Rose Club! Our next senior inductional winner, number 11, Nakelle Johnson! Nakelle is being supported by her mom, Kelly White, dad, Joe Johnson, brothers, sisters, grandma, and grandma. The biggest influences in her life, her mother has been influencing for her throughout her high school career. But not just in sports, also as a mother. I want to thank her for being there and for taking a chance. Thank you for being an outstanding mother. Words cannot describe how thankful I am and how much I love you. I don't think I'll ever be able to repay you for all the things you've done for me. I love you more than life itself. I'm so proud of you. Our senior inductor, Heidi Kluge, who attended college and majored in sports medicine while playing in sports. Something she thinks she's most proud of is being a part of the team and always making them smile, laugh, and really good at anything they do. Her most memorable moment was when they took a trip down to Missouri. One thing she did differently this year is start the season over and start with a better attitude and higher energy. Some words of advice to her younger teammates is, she says, to the underclassmen, don't ever waste away your senior year. Lose your voice in the volleyball game, laugh a little more during display, take in all the special times, and be fully present. Because we want all of those members and billions of people cheering you as you grow throughout your career. May you be a key volleyballer for all the laughter and memories of the moment. Your favorite middle-aged men and women signing out. Ladies and gentlemen, one more time, please. And our final senior for tonight is each setter, number 12, LaKyla Lawrence. LaKyla is being escorted by her mother and father, Mamie and Rico Lawrence. Her biggest influence is in high school. She says, my biggest thank you goes to Coach Daniel. Without you, I wouldn't be the player that I am today. Thank you for devoting so much of your time to us. You played a major role in my life for many years. There aren't many coaches that care like you do. We are so lucky to be able to follow you, Coach. Her plans after high school is she plans on attending Arizona State University and appendicitis on her knee. Some of her biggest achievements are having a 4.0 GPA, being all-area and all-conference. Her most memorable moment was the roller coaster. If she could do anything differently this year, it's that she would enjoy every moment and not take anything for granted, no matter what the pressures are. Some of the words of advice to her younger teammates? To Nicarra, thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for always being there for me, making me laugh when I needed it the most, and supporting me through everything. To Brina, thank you for always having the way you are. To all of my juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, always believe in yourselves and you can achieve anything you put your mind to. To my mom and dad, thank you for always being my number one fan, waking up early for every tournament, coming to all of my games, and so much more. I love you guys so much.
