My name is Marisol Mendoza from the Fight for a Healthy Breast, a campaign raising awareness for breast cancer in women between the age of 20 and over 65 years old. Today I will be talking about how cancer detects early can save lives. There is a one in eight chance that a woman develops breast cancer. The good news is that we can prevent the disease. Breast cancer is increasingly being detected in younger women. We must get more involved and help prevent breast cancer. You may be wondering how we can do this. You can start asking yourself and your loved ones, your mother, your sister, your aunt, your niece, have you had a mammogram? Have you done a cell examination? Did you go to the doctor? Did you know that cancer detects early has a 99% chance of healing? The key is how we detect it in time. We know the story of Rosie, a breast cancer survivor. She was 42 years old when through cell examination she detected an aggressive cancer in time. But she did not have medical insurance. Despite this, she obtained the necessary help to come out triumphant. In her experience, she recommends that you always do checkups on yourself to know your body. Go to the doctor regularly and ask questions about programs or resources that you could use at some point in your life. Either for yourself or someone you care about and that your loved ones can get more involved in the issue of breast cancer. The recommendation to reduce risk factors of possibilities of developing cancer are, the lifestyle we have can alter the course of developing cancer or not. You must continually examine and monitor yourself. For younger women, it is advisable to take an ultrasound and be reviewed by an oncologist. Every five years from the age of 25 and before the age of 40. For age 40 and over, take your ultrasound to the oncologist once a year. We must take care of our diet and eat as healthily as possible. A study shows that drinking alcohol increases breast cancer in women. Staying healthy reduces the risk of developing breast cancer, letting us stay as healthy as possible to have a longer and happier life. We must change our mentality. Visit the doctor when we are well and not when we start to feel sick or too late to help. You can be a victim of breast cancer or a survivor. The decision is yours. Schedule a breast exam today.
