The second-grade class at Eduardo González-Gallarda School in Ardero, a town near Logroño, introduces themselves and explains why they have chosen to make a book about the universe. They want to share their fascination with the universe and what they have learned about it, including how it is created, what stars and planets are, why planets collide, and what a black hole is. They hope readers enjoy their book as much as they enjoyed making it. Queridos lectores, somos la clase de 2º de primaria A del Colegio Eduardo González-Gallarda del Ardero. Tenemos 7 años, bueno, algunos han cumplido 8 años y otros ya los cumplieron el curso pasado. Nuestro colegio está dentro del pueblo del Ardero, un pueblo que tiene unos 10.000 habitantes aproximadamente y está al lado de Logroño. Es un pueblo que ha crecido mucho en años anteriores y por eso tuvieron que hacer otro colegio de lo grande que nos hicimos. Nuestro colegio nos gusta mucho. Somos muchos niños y niñas. En clase estamos 24 niños y niñas. Somos 14 chicos y 10 chicas. Somos muy diferentes unos de otros. Pero nos gusta hacer cosas juntos, aprender mucho, jugar juntos, descubrir cosas juntos. Os contamos todo esto, lectores, para que nos conozcáis un poco más y sepáis por qué hemos elegido hacer un libro sobre el universo. Una de tantas cosas que nos enseñan aquí y aprendemos es conocer el mundo que nos rodea, cómo funciona, cómo está hecho, cómo cuidarlo. Nos parece algo alucinante. Hemos empezado a conocer el universo y nos parece tan grande, tan intenso, tan maravilloso, tan, tan, tan, que nos hemos lanzado a hacer este libro. Hay tanto en el universo que hemos intentado meter un poco de todo ello en estas páginas, como por ejemplo, cómo se crea el universo, que son las estrellas y los planetas. ¿Por qué nos chocan unos planetas con otros? ¿Cuál es el planeta más grande y el más pequeño? ¿Qué es un agujero negro? Y mucho más. Esperemos que os guste tanto como a nosotros nos ha gustado hacerlo. ¡Ahí va el libro!
