In the future, people might be able to live on the moon to escape the stress of Earth. Fashion will reflect this by using fabrics that create fluid movement and ripples, like plissé. Tassels will also be popular, with Prada using them on belts and Baccarat band incorporating them into hemlines. The fashion will be inspired by the Olympics and feature shiny metallic colors, like those of the medals. This futuristic scene will be dazzling and reflective, like the sun at festivals. How about removing yourself from the planet altogether? Lunar escape allows the consumers to run away from the stresses of planet Earth and move to a different galaxy. With the announcement of building homes on the moon by 2040, we're going to need to fashion to match the dazzling galaxy, right? This trend emphasises the lack of gravity, capturing fluid form and movement through dress with the use of plissé, a fabric causing ripples with movement. Tassels were also seen on the runway this year, with Prada creating belts of long silver tassels, as well as hanging from hemlines in Baccarat band's collection. Again, inspired by the Olympics too, this futuristic scene will be characterised by shiny metallic colours of the Olympic medals, producing a star-like shine. Expect to be blinded by the sun reflecting off of these shining colours of festivals.
