Due to the pandemic, funding for vaccine research increased and the first mRNA vaccine was developed. Now, researchers are using mRNA technology to create vaccines for other diseases like the flu and HIV. Because of the need for preventative measures during the pandemic, funding for vaccine research increased significantly and the first ever mRNA vaccine became a commonplace preventative initiative across the globe. Due to this scientific breakthrough, researchers are already developing mRNA vaccines to protect against other common diseases like the flu and HIV.
