Nothing to say, yet
Ethan is back as a cop in Granton and enjoys his new role. He films cop-related content for the scavengers and gains more followers. He considers leaving Granton for a job at Do Some Rope in Orlando. Perry hangs out with a guy named Gabriel and wishes she had a fake boyfriend to avoid awkward situations. Gabriel offers to be her fake boyfriend, and she offers to be his fake girlfriend. They laugh and agree to play along. This is chapter 17 of the semicolon case. New jobs, new friends. Ethan was back. He was a cop and already on the team in Granton. Both his biological family and internet family congratulated his success, and he couldn't be prouder than wearing his uniform. He especially liked it when he was assigned a parole on the street where many college kids fed up, so he got to pull over a lot of his old friends. And he still was able to film for the scavengers, and the viewers loved the new content that was now cop-related. You wouldn't believe how many cats get stuck up in trees until you were a cop, he said on the Instagram story, but it has made me an excellent tree climber. Oh officer, someone shot it off camera. He then turned the camera around to show Maverick in a blonde wig. He turned the camera back to him and shook his head. And this happens a lot too. What seems to be a problem, ma'am? My cat is stuck in a tree, he said his southern girl's voice. Can you help? Sure can. As he did this, Maverick fake giggled. Oh, look at those muscles. So masculine. Ethan got back down out of the tree and handed the cat to Maverick, then walked off. This is just a message to every girl out there following me. Please only call if there is a real emergency. Does this actually happen to you? Here's the question when they stop at the donut shop for a late breakfast. All the time, Ethan answered. I once had this girl say she was choking just so I could give her CBR. And the amount of requests people have to have me to go through to save them. Jeez. Hey, it's a great for the camera here, I'm reminded. We've gained about 20,000 more followers ever since you went to the blue uniform and you are serving your country. Yeah, serving it by giving out tickets and putting boots on people's cars. Now I know how Judy Hopps felt. You are comparing yourself to an animated bunny here. He shook his head. I guess I just expected more action. This is Granton, Alabama. The only interesting thing that happened here ever was the, um, was the case you solved. There's nothing left. Are you saying I should leave Granton? No, I was just saying, where on earth could I go where I could still live the dream of being a good cop and making the world a better place? He then looked down at his phone when he got an alert. I was just saying that, Harrison continued to say. Just because there isn't excitement doesn't mean you can't make something from it. Maybe you could be the start of something new here. Did I just quote a musical? Problem solved, Ethan said as he raised his phone. I know where I want to go. Ethan Davenport, you can't just hop from one place to another because you had a dull moment. You need to live your life in one place. One day your excitement will run out and you will have nothing else to do. But he was ignoring him. Do some rope, Ethan exclaimed. I should work to be a cop at Do Some Rope. Wouldn't that be great? Harrison raised an eyebrow. I don't know, that's a little extreme. Exactly, I'm going to sign up right now. And because Ethan Davenport never quit until his mission was accomplished, he was determined to succeed in his next role and would end up getting the job that would start in the fall. My only worry is, he said one afternoon after they had just finished filming a video, I don't want to play the scavenger again. We're almost out of draft videos. We thought about that, Harrison said. Not that, Maverick. And we have it covered. Really? How? We will just move down to Orlando for a little bit. Wait, really? We have already talked it over with our parents, Harrison explained. And of course Maverick wants to attend us down there. And I'll be in... me out of school. I could just find a part time job there. It all works out. That's great. We will be staying down there for a year and then come back up. But if you want to stay there longer, we can make room for a new draft video that you make. This will be the year no one will forget. The only thing that is missing is Perry, Harrison reminded. She'll be fine, Ethan said. Want a break? Hey, Parley, Maverick said once he picked up the phone. You need me to pick you up on the way to the creek? But the scavenger is leaving for Orlando in a month. Perry leaving for college around the same time. They got as many activities as they could in the grant. Actually, I'm not going to make it. Maverick raised an eyebrow while tugging the phone on his shoulder. What do you mean? Didn't you get the group chat message yesterday? I saw. I just have something else planned. Oh, uh, yeah, okay. He smiled when trying to lighten the mood. So, what do you have planned that is more important than the creek? Gabriel and I are going to bully it after. Gabriel and I are going to bully it after the match. Gabriel? Do you know him? Do I know him? Yes, he's in my creative writing class. Really nice guy. Cool, cool, cool. So, um, I guess have fun. She laughed while ending the conversation. Thanks. Don't have too much fun without me at the creek. And with that, she hung up. So, are you going to pick her up? Harrison asked while packing up the camera equipment. She said you can't make it. She is hanging out with some chum called Gabriel. Oh, Gabe, yeah, he's a nice guy. So, I've heard. He mumbled. Oh, but someone is jealous. Ethan sings songs. I have a glare. No, just a thing that I have yet to hear of this great Gabe. That is to be said, a very nice guy. And we are not nice enough for her. Says the man that literally caused her to go to the ER. Oy, we said we would never talk about that incident again. Sorry, I forgot. Really, man. Ethan chuckled. It's not just that she is hanging out with a friend her age who may seem attractive to some people alone, right? Maverick bit down on his lip and tried not to show his every expression. All he could think about was Perry, what Perry might be doing. Don't have too much fun at the creek, Perry said. She just hung up and smiled up at Gabriel. Sorry about that. He shrugged. Understandable. Do you want me to get you anything at the cafe before we go? Just water will be fine. Not even a second after he left, Perry was greeted by a guy her age with the creepiest smile. Uh, hello? Hi, I don't know if you recognize me, but we're actually in chemistry together. She stared at him blankly for a moment, then remembered his face. Oh, right, yeah. Weren't you the guy who caught on fire? Huh. Uh, yeah, he says he'd help himself to the seat next to her. But I'm going to say, besides us just being the same class, we do share a lot of chemistry. Perry's inside voice was screaming. She tried to keep a straight face, but a smile broke out on her face. Uh, okay? That's all she could think of to say. What was this guy trying to do? Well, saying that, do you think you'd want to go out sometime? Henson blessed her as Gabriel returned shortly. She stood up and collected her things while saying, Oh, sorry, I have a busy weekend ahead, but she then kindly said goodbye then walked off with Gabriel. Friend of yours? No, she scoffed. But he was in my chemistry class, so he just used a pickup line to try to get me on a date with him. No way, he laughed while slipping his ginger hair back under his cap. Sorry you had to go through that, she shrugged. Not the first time it's happened. But you know what I wish? I wish I had a fake boyfriend so that this doesn't happen to me again. It's awkward for both sides, and college is going to be a nightmare. I'll volunteer to play the part, he joked, once he reached the car. Just call me up and put me on speakerphone and be like, yeah, this is him, and I can play it off. She stopped and looked at him over the roof of the car. Her eyes widened. Wait, really? You would do that? You would be okay doing that? I mean, he said, tossing his backpack to the backseat. I figured we were joking, but he actually wanted to. I'd be down. It didn't get you out of an awkward situation, Perry grunted in reply. A flood of relief went over her. Dude, I know it doesn't mean a lot to you, but it does to me. Thank you so much. And I can be your fake girlfriend, too. I bet you need it as much as I need it. You would think, he laughed, while getting into the car. The only time girls come up to me is to tell me I look like Ron from Harry Potter. She grabs the car and cackles a laugh. Oh, dude, I know. There are some girls that would go beyond to be with you. You're such a nice guy. Likewise to you. But don't think my niceness is going to keep me from being that boy. Oh, it's on. And that was the end of that chapter. I forgot how short it was. But I hope you enjoyed it.
