Karol Franciszek Pollak (1859–1928) is listed among the most outstanding Polish inventors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His achievements include nearly one hundred patents, and the solutions he developed in the fields of electrical engineering, batteries, and rectifiers were used in many European countries. Pollak was not only an inventor but also an entrepreneur, a visionary, and one of the first Polish engineers to achieve international success.
