The speaker is running late because they forgot most of their pirate costume near the Bay Bridge. They have to go back two hours to retrieve it, which will make them late. Despite considering skipping the costume, they decide to go back for their tailored velvet vest and suede coat with gold bullion buttons. They hope their friend Kathy will forgive them for being late. It's 730 and I was halfway at the Bay Bridge and I realized I forgot most of my pirate costume so I have to go back and it takes two hours to get there so I'm gonna be late and you know I thought should I just forget the costume but you know my coat buttons on the coat anyway I'm going back and getting the tailored velvet vest on the suede coat with gold bullion buttons and God hope that Kathy forgives me and that she's setting up with her helpers
