The podcast "Confessions of a Quiet Woman" hosted by Lena aims to provide a safe space for women to share their struggles without judgment. Lena shares her own experiences of resilience through difficult seasons, including being a young mother in an abusive relationship, loss of loved ones, and living with a chronic illness. She emphasizes the importance of acknowledging and honoring feelings of weakness, loss, and brokenness, while also highlighting the quiet strength found in simply surviving each day. The podcast's focus is on being present with questions, grief, and the challenges of living faithfully in a complex world, while offering a sense of connection and understanding to listeners. Lena's message is one of validation, reminding listeners that their struggles do not diminish their worth and that they are not alone in their journey. Hi, everyone, and welcome to the very first episode of Confessions of a Quiet Woman. I'm Lena, and I've been thinking for a long time about starting this space, a place where we can be real about life, faith, grief, and all the messy, beautiful parts in between. I'm just a normal person trying to live a meaningful life. But I've had my share of hard seasons. Some of them have shaken me to my core. And some of them have reminded me that even when life doesn't make sense, there's still a thread of hope if we're willing to look for it. I started this podcast because I realized there aren't enough spaces for women to feel safe admitting weakness without judgment. So often we're told to just be strong or just have faith. But what if we're exhausted, broken, or just human? I want this to be a place where it's okay to say, I don't have it all together. I'm scared. I'm grieving. I'm in pain. And I want to show that even in those moments, there's a kind of quiet strength. And sometimes just surviving the day is the victory. This podcast won't just be about my story. I'll also be exploring other women's journeys, reacting to Reddit stories, sharing experiences from listeners, and interviewing women from all walks of life. Everyone has a story. And I want to create a space where those stories can be heard, honored, and reflected on. I've lived through a lot of seasons that tested me. I was an 18-year-old mother in an abusive relationship. And then I had to figure out how to survive living on my own. Those experiences taught me resilience in ways that are hard to explain. But they left marks I carry to this day. I've lost people I love in ways that left me asking big, raw questions. My seven-year-old sister passed away, and that shook my faith in ways I never expected. It wasn't a neat, tidy grief. It was messy, heartbreaking, and sometimes made me feel like God was silent, that he stayed. That's what I came to hold on to, the presence, even if the pain didn't go away. This year, my dad passed away, and I've been diagnosed and living with a chronic illness. There have been days when life felt unbearable, and I doubted if I could keep going. But here I am. And I want anyone listening who feels like that to know, you can still keep going, even when your heart or your body feels like it can't. My message to you is that if you're listening and feeling weak, lost, or broken, I want you to know that your feelings are valid. Your struggle doesn't make you less. Your pain doesn't make you invisible. And you are not alone. This podcast isn't about giving answers or fixing everything. It's about being present with the questions, the grief, and the everyday reality of trying to live faithfully in a complicated, sometimes cruel world. And along the way, we'll hear from other women, sometimes sharing, sometimes struggling, sometimes triumphing, so we can all feel a little more connected. Thank you for being here with me. I hope Confessions of a Quiet Woman can be a little refuge for you, a place where you can hear someone else's story, and maybe feel a little less alone in your own. I'll be sharing more of my journey, stories of early motherhood, survival, grief, chronic illness, and faith, while also bringing in other voices, conversations, and reactions to stories from the wider world. My hope is that these episodes will remind us all that even when life is hard, staying present, staying real, and staying connected matters. Until next time, take a deep breath, be gentle with yourself, and know that being human is enough.
