The TRAPPIST-1 system is a red dwarf star located 39 light years away in the Aquarius constellation. It was discovered in 2017 and has planets orbiting it, some of which may be habitable. The planets in this system are closer to each other than in our solar system. The habitable zone of TRAPPIST-1 is where water can exist, and there are potentially 3 habitable planets in this system. However, it is not possible to travel to TRAPPIST-1 due to the distance. Scientists are now studying the planets and their atmospheres to learn more, including the possibility of finding signs of life. Hello guys, welcome to my YouTube channel, today we're going to talk about the TRAPPIST-1 system. So what is the TRAPPIST-1? It's a red star called a red dwarf and it's 39 light years away in the constellation Aquarius. But what was interesting is that there are planets orbiting this star just like our own system solar. So now let's talk about the researcher who discovered the TRAPPIST-1, it's a team of astronomers lead by Michael Gillon in 2016. But what makes their discovery incredible is that the planet orbiting this star is maybe habitable. So the TRAPPIST-1 was discovered in February 2017 and everyone was intrigued because maybe the planet can be habitable. So the difference between TRAPPIST-1 and our sun is TRAPPIST-1 is a red star, it's smaller and less bright than the sun. So now the difference of the TRAPPIST-1 system and the solar system is the planets around the TRAPPIST-1 are very close to each other, unlike our planet which are not all close to each other. So the habitable zone for TRAPPIST-1 is a zone where it's neither too hot nor too cold so just right for water to exist. So the life can be possible with water. Only 3 planets of TRAPPIST-1 and 7 planets are in this habitable zone. So it's very insane to think we can have life in TRAPPIST-1. So can we travel to TRAPPIST-1? No, it's impossible to travel in TRAPPIST-1 because we have 39 light years away. So it will be a longer time, we need a longer time to travel this. So what is the next step in the study of the TRAPPIST-1 system? Scientists are working to find out more about this planet and the atmosphere and maybe any sign of life.
