Speaker 4 was in multiple bands and loved everything about it. They needed a manager to reach the next level of success. Speaker 5 played music in public and met talented people who may not be on TV due to luck or management. Unit 3 test. Track 1. Speaker 1. I used to make music with a friend named Ron, who used to like writing songs. We just did it for fun, really, not for money. We only got paid for one job. That was to help make an advertisement that was used on television. Speaker 2. Four of us used to get together several times a week and play music, but I don't know what it was. Maybe it was the people or the choice of music, but it just felt like work. I left when I stopped enjoying it. I still buy a lot of music, but I'm happier listening to it than playing it these days. Speaker 3. I didn't used to be in a band or anything like that, but I learned to play the guitar, which was good fun. I used to write songs, only for myself, you understand. Nobody else heard them. I thought they were quite good, though. Speaker 4. I was in a band for years. Several bands, actually. I used to love everything about it, practicing, performing live, but to get to the next level, we needed a manager, someone with context to help us develop. These days, you can only be successful if you have a video filmed on the streets of London or New York. Speaker 5. I used to play in public a lot, in the streets and squares of our city. I met a few people who really had talent. Just because we see people on television, it doesn't mean they're the best there is. It might just mean they have a good manager, or they were lucky.
