The Unemployment Law podcast discusses the trend of people sharing their personal lives on social media without monetizing it. They mention a TikTok user named Risa Tisa who gained fame by sharing her story about being married to a pathological liar. She has received benefits such as interviews, trips, and hotel stays from her social media presence. The podcast advises others to find the right platform to monetize their stories and not to delete their social media accounts. They also briefly discuss the negative feedback Risa Tisa received. And I'm like, oh, y'all get this gold out of there? Yeah. And I'm like, oh, y'all get this gold out of there? Yeah. And I'm like, oh, y'all get this gold out of there? Yeah. And I'm like, oh, y'all get this gold out of there? Yeah. And I'm like, oh, y'all get this gold out of there? Yeah. And I'm like, oh, y'all get this gold out of there? Yeah. And I'm like, oh, y'all get this gold out of there? Yeah. Oh, OK. Never knew. Speaking of never knowing, what are we talking about this week on Unemployment Life? This week, we're talking about Risa Tisa. I think her name's actually Teresa. But her, is her TikTok name Risa Tisa? Her TikTok handle is Risa Tisa. So, but, yeah. So we talk about Risa Tisa, but we're really not talking about Risa Tisa. We are doubling back on a conversation that Doc and I had probably three, four years ago. A very important conversation. And I don't think, I don't think anybody really paid attention to the conversation that we had. What we have in this conversation, I think we had this conversation on live. I don't even know if we had this conversation on the show. No, we did on the show. We did on the show, but we were, that's when we were recording remotely. Yeah. Yeah. OK. Yeah. And we were talking about needing us to manage these people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were helping them to manage their social media account. Because I think, I think the mistake your girl made here is she gave them too much too fast. She could have drawn this out for at least a year. Yeah, she could have drawn it out for a year. I mean, but still, she's still getting some type of benefit from it, though. But essentially what the conversation that me and Doc had years ago was that a lot of y'all out here selling y'all self short. You know, y'all telling us everything about y'all life on social media and y'all not monetizing that. Now, here come Risa Tisa telling the story about her love life and her being married to a habitual liar or pathological liar, whichever one they want to call it. But, um, and now everybody coming up off the situation. Yeah, you know, because he's getting booked for interviews now. Yeah. Like, you know, she she got she got paid from TikTok. She got she got trips from Delta. She got stage hotel stays from the Hilton. She got interviews on Good Morning America. I'm just saying, man, listen. And who she's that? Who's Good Morning America? Is that Robin or Gail? I have no idea. That's probably it's probably Gail. I think. No, it's right. Whoever it is. Ain't had no business talking to this lady. All I'm saying is a lot of y'all have been telling y'all story and telling y'all entire lives on social media, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram. And y'all ain't making a dime off of this. And there's two and there's two parts to that. One, we can talk about the monetization in a second. But the other thing is, you know, like when y'all are doing these attention seeking behaviors, don't make the misstep of. I'm tired of y'all being in my business. I'm going to delete my social media. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. That is not the answer. You just got to get the right social media platform. You got to get the one that allows you to monetize. Because what Risa Tisa would let you know is even though she was out there and a lot of people were into this story, there was also some negative things that came. People was like, yeah, girl, you too big to have a man, a vice president of a company. Well, let's break down the story for the people who didn't. People like me who refuse to sit here and watch all 50 parts. I watch the highlights. Well, we're going to break it down. I've had to break this story down many times because it is 50 parts, 50 parts, I believe, 10 minutes, 10 minutes a piece. Recorded what appears across like several days. Yeah. Like in several different locations. Like this time, this lady sitting here talking in the car. This time, this lady, I don't know if she at work or she at home, but it's a very plain. She recorded it and she recorded it at work in the car and at home. She's in Atlanta, Georgia. So the car does make sense because that that Atlanta traffic usually be about 45, 50 minutes. And she recorded it the way. And I think what makes this compelling is. I don't mean to sound offensive when I say this, but I'm going to say it. She tells the story the way that women tell stories. And it's what I don't know if you've ever tried to tell a woman a story in a man version. But what they'll do is they will stop you several times and ask for more details. If you tell if you tell a story as a man to a woman, sometimes you forget the point of your story because they. They need details. That's why that's why I like me. Like so you telling me, wait, wait, wait, wait. So you telling me Rashad and Shelby went into the break room together and they left Melvin out there. But what was Melvin doing out there? And all you really trying to tell her is how how how Sharonda got in a fight with Jessica. Because they will ask. And you could tell like the way she told her story on TikTok. You could tell like that's the way that she's used to telling stories. So it's like like in the situation you're saying like women will ask questions like you try to talk about the fight and you'll be like, yeah. So then Rashad, you know, he went into the room. Wait, how long Rashad been working there? Why is that relevant? But they need to know. What does he do? Was it Rashad cheating on his girlfriend last week? Yeah. Now his girlfriend. Like is she still over there at the call center? OK, now what about her? Now, who's the manager over there? I think I know her. And then by the time you get to the fight, the fight anticlimactic now. But hours have gone by. And that's how when people are like, oh, I didn't watch a 50 part story. That's just what they do. They just sit and watch these things in the background. And y'all could be profiting from this instead of just sitting there telling your friends. Tell the world. I'm going to let you know right now. It's some people. Some people. And I'm not going to say any names. But some of y'all, if y'all listening. And I mean, it may be you. It may not be you. But some of y'all, I literally come to Facebook just to see whatever is going on in your life. Because it's just that entertaining. I'm going to call one situation out. We talked about this on the show. I know what you're about to call out. But the whole thing about this man owes me money. Oh, that was a 50 part TikTok story. You could have done a 50 part TikTok series. And people would have been tuned in. Let me tell y'all about how I met this man. And, you know, I thought we was cool. And so, you know, me trying to be a good person. You know, I lent him the money. And then he disappeared. Like, that's it. That's the story. That's the story right there. And you can tell it as detailed as you want. Take your time. Set that camera up. Get you a ring light. Yeah. Now, a lot of y'all. Y'all have. Y'all have. And, Jesus. But the story. The devil. The devil is busy, y'all. The devil is alive. You know, I used to hate when the pastor used to say that in church. He'd be on the mic talking about, well, you know, the devil is alive here, y'all. I'm like, no, brother. You need a cough drop. That is not the devil. You don't need Jesus. You need a damn cough drop. Stop blaming everything on the devil. The devil out there catching straight. He out there just chilling. The devil got me. He out there blaming me, man. Somebody give that man a mythol. Leave me alone. What did I do, man? God, leave. I got things to do down here. The devil is busy. I am busy. You think I got time to make you cough? I got time to do that, man. Get out of here, man. It's ridiculous. That weak sermon you preaching. See, I forgot what I was about to say. Book of Matthew again, huh? Yeah. Boring. We back here again, huh? Stop blaming me. You've been preaching this for four weeks. No. Okay. Talking about revival. You need to revive some of these sermons. Come with me. Warren, didn't you preach about this last year? Last year? Let me go to the next church. The devil is busy, y'all. The devil is distracting you from whatever you were talking about. I forgot what I was about to say, man, for real. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I done lost my whole train of thought. Well, let me say this. It'll come back to you, but let me say this. I feel like we first must start with what makes a story interesting, right? And so there's basic elements of storytelling. You've got to have an introduction. You've got to have your background information and character establishment. Then you've got to have your rising action and your conflict. I think where this story lost me was I feel like she ignored all the red flags. Now, she said during her story, well, that should have been a red flag. That should have been a red flag. But I realized some people were like, what, she's writing all this down? No, that's just how women remember stuff. Like, this is all off the dome. She didn't have to. And when you understand it that way, you realize any of y'all could be doing this. Right, and that's what I was going to say. The time frame that this happened to this girl probably was a year or less. Yeah, that 50-part series was like less than a year, 12 months or less. And what I'm saying is some of y'all got stories for years. Y'all could be profiting just like old girl been doing. You know what I mean? Like, I think in the next segment, what we going to do. You see, I took it. Oh, I see. High five. This is good. He about to throw it to Frank. In the next segment, what we going to do is we going to take you through the Larry P. and Doc's school of storytelling. It's time to put them out. Y'all make sure you punch it at the end, man. Let them know what they listening to. Oh, shit.
