The SNP's coalition with the Green Party has ended, making Humza Yousaf's administration a minority government. The Scottish Government abandoned its climate change target. Labour plans to re-nationalise the railway, but the Conservatives call it pointless and unfunded. Ofsted's one-word judgements on schools will stay. Barclays reported a decrease in profits. Taylor Swift's album became Spotify's most streamed in a week. With the latest, I'm Kyle Fraser. The SNP's coalition with the Green Party has ended. It means Humza Yousaf's administration will now run as a minority government. The First Minister called an emergency cabinet meeting this morning. There had been speculation over the future of the party's cooperation after a key climate change target was ditched. Last week, the Scottish Government abandoned its commitment to cut emissions by 75% by 2030. The coalition had been in place since the last election in May 2021. The Conservatives have described Labour's plans to re-nationalise the railway as if they win the next general election as pointless and unfunded. Sir Keir Starmer's party say they'll bring routes back into public ownership within five years. Shadow Transport Secretary Louise Hague claims it'll be the biggest change to the network in a generation. It's an incredibly wasteful system at the moment with dividends and performance fees being leaked out to the private sector, and enormous duplication and waste across the system because it is so fragmented and complex. It looks like Ofsted's one-word judgements on schools such as outstanding or inadequate are staying for now. The government insists there are significant benefits for parents. There have been concerns since a head teacher took her own life after her primary school was downgraded. Barclays has reported group pre-tax profits of £2.3 billion for the first three months of the year, down 12% on the same time last year. It says mortgage lending and deposits have dipped. The bank says income from its UK operations fell 7% year on year. And in showbiz, Taylor Swift's Tortured Poets department has become Spotify's most streamed album in a single week. It's been played more than one billion times. It has already racked up 300 million streams in a single day. There's more news online at gado.co.uk
