Grief can vary in every child and it's difficult to measure their reactions. The National Childhood Traumatic Stress Network says that each child grieves in their own way and there is no correct way or duration for grieving. However, you can make some general assumptions about a child's grief based on their age or developmental level. So, clearly based on what Dr. Kaplow just mentioned, grief can be different in every child and their reactions can be very hard to gauge. According to the National Childhood Traumatic Stress Network, each child grieves differently and there is no right or wrong way or length of time to grieve. Although all children grieve differently, you can make some general assumptions based on a child's developmental level or age.
