Then we can point out your mistakes And say maybe you should have done this method, it should have been better It should have been this way, that way But not to the point that you mumandai, but to the point that you practice what you have done Take note of what's going within you, take note of what you're speaking, what you're seeing How are you taking care of your responsibilities? Tariqah is accountability, that's the main thing It is accountability We must gather up our senses Away from the darkness of dunya And be accountable for ourselves, especially for our hearts It's not for people who are sleeping And that's why the training in tariqah is supposed to be what? To wake us up If we're always constantly caught up with the darkness of dunya Then you say, I joined tariqah, hopefully I'll wake up Okay, good But if you say, I joined tariqah, hopefully things will become better No, then it's not going to be better I'll read to you one hadith that talks about this Ibn al-Mubarak narrates with his chain of transmission and authority of Men who heard from Mu'adh bin Jabal, he says Oh Mu'adh, tell me a hadith you've heard from al-Nabi s.a.w The man said, Mu'adh, Sayyidina Mu'adh wept until I thought he would not stop And then became quiet He then said, I heard the Messenger of Allah I forgot the words, I heard the Messenger of Allah I'm still forgetting the words, I heard the Messenger of Allah S.a.w said, Oh Mu'adh, see this is what I mean, initiative There's no himmah to make slawat on Prophet, how are you going to get shafa'ah I heard the Messenger of Allah Exactly, that's how you recall, you call out to the Prophet s.a.w The man said, Oh Mu'adh, wept and I thought he would not stop And then he became quiet He then said, I heard the Messenger of Allah Oh Mu'adh, I will tell you a hadith That if you uphold it, it will benefit you But if you neglect it, you will have no excuse before Allah s.w.t On the day of judgement This is the Prophet s.a.w speaking He says, Oh Mu'adh, verily Allah created seven angels Allah created seven angels before creating the heavens and the earth Then he created the heavens And he ordained one angel to be the gatekeeper for each of the seven heavens So before the heavens and all were created, Allah created the mala'ika The mala'ika, each every one of them to be a guardian To be taking care of the seven heavens The recording angels ascend to the heavens with a servant's deed That has been recorded for the day From the time he wakes up in the morning until the time he sleeps in the evening And these good deeds possess a light, a nur Like that of the sun When the angels reach the lowest heaven They anoint and magnify the deeds The gatekeeper angel responds Strike with this axe the face of the one who did them That means throw it back at their faces For I am the overseer of backbiting My Lord has ordained me not to allow the deeds of anyone guilty of backbiting To get past my gates to the above That means first heaven, amal going up Right, then what happens? They get thrown back at our faces, may Allah protect us Why? Because of namimah, backbiting So there are angels that are looking out If there are deeds that has backbiting, they will throw it away They will not even reach past the first jannah It continues, salallahu alayhi wa sallam Then the recording angels ascend with another slave's good deeds Anointing and magnifying them This time making it to the second level of heaven The gatekeeper of the second level of heaven said Stop, strike with this work the face of the one who did it I am the angel who checks for pride Those who have arrogance and pride Verily he sought by his works a transient aspect of the world My Lord has ordained, ordered me not to let his deeds pass by me For verily he used to have pride towards those in whose company he sat So this is the arrogance of a person when he do ibadah He will not pass by the second heaven So first heaven is what? Backbiting Second heaven is the pride Then he, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, continued The recording angels bring another slave's deeds Glowing with light from charity, fasting and prayer Deeds that truly impress the recording angels They succeed in passing the first two levels of heaven Carrying the deeds to the third The gatekeeper says to them Stop, strike with this work the face of the one who did it I am the angel that monitors arrogance My Lord has commanded me not to allow his deeds to get past me For verily he used to be arrogant towards others in their gathering Many levels, right? Where are we at? He, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, continued The recording angels take the deeds of another slave Glowing like the shining star Resounding with the glorification of Allah's prayers Fasting, the hajj and umrah The angels carry them until they reach the fourth level The gatekeeper tells them Stop, strike these deeds with the face Back and the belly of the one who did them I am the watcher over conceit My Lord has ordered me not to allow his deeds to get past me For he used to do any deed Conceit would enter into it May Allah protect us He, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, said The recording angels ascend with the deeds of another Escorting them like the bride to her groom Until they reach the fifth level of the heaven The gatekeepers tell them Stop, strike with these deeds The face and back of the one who did them And place them on his shoulder I am the monitor of envy Indeed, he used to envy people Who would study and do deeds similar to his As well as every person who would excel in acts of worship He would envy and speak ill of them That's the problem It's not just envy, jealous There's a difference between being jealous and envy So he would not only just have that sifat of envy But he has that No, speaking ill of them So you can have envy and you want to be good Your heart is good, okay But it's envy because there's conceit, there's pride There's other things in it It becomes a bad concoction of illness in the heart He, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, said The recording, angels take the deed of another person Consisting of prayer, fasting, almsgiving and hajj and umrah They make it to the sixth level where the gatekeepers say Stop, strike the deeds of this face On the face of the one who did them He would never show mercy to a single one of Allah's servants There's no rahmah in this person Who were afflicted by misfortune or calamity Rather, he would gloat over their hardships Oh, the Palestinians deserve it That's what they say Maybe because they do sins Oh, people deserve natural disasters Because they do sins That's why they get it Who are we to judge, right? Because there's no rahmah in our hearts So Allah throws back our amal back to our faces Wallahi azabillah, may Allah protect us And it is, I am the angel of rahmah Allah has ordered me not to allow His deed to get past me He continued that according to angels Take the deeds of another slave Consisting of prayer, fasting Spending his wealth, jihad and scrupulousness The deed hum like a bee And shine with brightness of the sun Escorting the deeds of three thousand angels And they reach the gates of the seventh heaven The gatekeepers say Stop, strike with these deeds At the face of the one who did them Strike his limbs with them and lock his heart Verily, I keep from my Lord All those deeds that were not done for His sake Indeed, He sought by His actions Other than Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala He desired esteem among His religious jurists To be mentioned by the scholars And to be famous in the cities My Lord has ordered me Not to allow His deeds to pass me For any act not done purely for the sake of Allah alone Is just done for show Allah does not accept The deed of people who show off He, s.a.w. said The recording angels take the deeds of another person Prayers, almsgiving, fasting, hajj and umrah Good character, observance of silence And remembrance of Allah s.w.t The angels of the heavens Escorted forward it until it breaks through all the barriers And veils to Allah Almighty They stand in front of Him And bear witness to the righteous deeds Done sincerely for His sake Allah s.w.t says You record the deed of my servant And I observe what is in his heart Verily, He did not seek me by this deed He desired other than me So my curse is upon Him The angels say Upon Him is your curse and ours And the seventh heaven And those who are in them curse Him Muaz bin Jabal says O Ya Rasulullah s.a.w You are the messenger of Allah s.a.w And I am Muaz How can I find escape and salvation from this? This is the important part We all know of the sins that we are doing But the Sahaba Muaz has a very important question How can I escape from all of this? With which way, Ya Rasulullah? That my deeds will be accepted Despite my shortcomings in my heart Right? And Sayyidina Muhammad s.a.w replied He says, follow me The first thing he said is what? Which means Throw your ego, follow him Simple That's what it is Follow me Sayyidina Muhammad s.a.w said Tariqah is about what? Following Simple But When there is the ego It is difficult to follow An-Nabi s.a.w It is difficult to follow the Sahaba That's why we recite the Silsila To show that the Sheikh Had followed the Sheikh before Had followed the Sheikh before Had followed An-Nabi It is The way to overcome this Is to have that connection in our hearts Instead of making our hearts full of conceits Making it busy with conceits Making it busy with envy Making it busy with anger Making it busy with anxiety Make it busy with connection instead If you are at the Kaaba Misal Now we will start back Arkan of Islam What are the five Arkans of Islam? Shahada and then Salah and then Zakat some more Sawm for Ramadan and then Hajj So how do we usually learn from where? What is Shahada? What is Salat? But what if we start from Hajj? Instead of learning from Shahada first We learn from Hajj first My friend Where is our focus of prayer when we pray? Which direction do we head towards? Simple Which means we all need a focus Before you even know your Shahada Before you even know your prayer Before you even know everything You need to know there is a what? And here the focus is to do what? To follow If you have a focus and you don't follow Then there is a problem When you have a focus And here being the Kaaba Right? Kaabatullah which means There is the presence of Allah We are not seeing his Zat The Kaaba represents what? The presence of Allah on this dunya It was built by Adam Rebuilt after that by Ibrahim Built by Sayyidina Muhammad Built by many people Which means there must be a way We should turn back into our focal point Again to follow Did he say anything else? Which means drop your ego and follow And then what must you do at the Kaaba? You must? Secumambulate How many times? That is to cleanse us Of our seven Nafs Nafsul Amara Nafsul Nawama Nafsul Mulhimma Nafs Mutmainna Nafs Radhia Nafs Mardhia Nafs Kamil These are the seven So the first thing we must do is to be able to Follow To have the direction to have a focus So where is your focus now? The Kaaba here is in your heart Allah had built that Kaaba within you And the key to the heart Allah you know What made the Kaaba divine is Allah put Hajar Aswad That is from Jannah Now what made the Kaaba in the heart divine is Nur Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam So if we have the Kaaba in the heart We must then look for the Nur in the heart as well And follow the Nur in the heart Then you can overcome conceit Overcome backbiting Overcome all of this Now every time you go Umrah You have a Mutawwif One who brings you to Umrah and all this kind of thing That is your Murshid The Murshid will bring you to the Mataf And say this is Hajar Aswad Go and kiss it This is Rukun Yamani Recite this Dua This is the Multazam Do this Do that Your Murshid is to always bring you back to the Focus But if you don't understand him as a focus You are not focused on him and how he is teaching you What he is guiding you You are not connecting Focus here is not just My eyes are focused But the heart is not there That means there must be connection in the heart So that then we can overcome Nafsul Ammarah Nafsul Lawamah But as long as there is the ego So we have to example Tawaf anticlockwise But you go and do clockwise Then life is going to be problematic If you have a Murshid that goes clockwise Then don't follow him Tawaf is anticlockwise, follow Why must we be creating that So everything in our Dunia We should all focus here If this is not having that You are not focusing on the work in the heart Then you are going to destroy your mind You are going to destroy your eyes You are going to destroy your nose You are going to destroy your mouth Your ears, your hands, your limbs, your skin Everything Because it is not surrendering to Allah As Allah says I am looking at your heart So you can be praying But then you can be backbiting You can be praying But then you can be doing things which are wrong Hurting others etc And Nabi SAW followed He is the biggest focus there Because when you say Taslim Bismillahirrahmanirrahim Hajar Aswad which is actually an angel Will write down your name And bring your name to Jannah This is the Shafa'ah from Sayyidina Muhammad So as long as you are making your Tawaf You are purifying yourself When you have purified yourself All your limbs Right Your eyes, your nose, your mouth, your ears 1, 2, 3, 4 Your belly, your heart And all of the other, your mind These all aspects have been cleared Then you go and fast You go and pray your Zakat When you do your Zakat How is it when you have been purified Zakat which is what Ikhlas Zakat which is Ikhlas Why? Because you have done your purification Allah has purified you Because you are now focused When you are doing your Zakat Your focus is on the Kaaba In the heart Your focus is on the Kaaba In the heart There is the presence of Allah When you do Zakat It is not me giving It is all from Allah SWT It is not my money It is nothing I am nothing, I give back It is about the ego And then when you are able to Understand the presence Then you do Sawm You have the focus in the heart now When you go and do your fasting Then it becomes Inna anzalnahu fi laylatul qadr Everyday is Laylatul Qadr Because your focus is in the heart The presence of Allah Isn't this the way The way the Prophet SAW Did his Zakat Wasn't this the way the Prophet SAW Fasted Now when you have this Reality and purity Imagine you go and pray Your heart is facing The Kaaba You are facing the Kaaba in the heart That is where the presence of Allah is Right? Where Allah says The Heaven and the Earth Cannot contain me Except for the heart of a believer So Then you do Takbir This is the way When you understand this Then you go back to You have a focus already The Kaaba is the focus That is why the Prophet SAW said Follow me Because when you follow him You cannot go wrong When you love him You cannot go wrong You cannot go and Tawaf anticlockwise You see how beautiful The Deen is If you reverse it You look from it The reality Of all of this Ibadah The rest you can read The Prophet SAW Given a lot of advice here He says You know follow me Even if there is a deficiency In your deeds Restrain your tongue From speaking ill Of your brothers Who have memorised the Quran Take responsibility For your sins This is what Tariqa is about Taking responsibility For your sins The initiative So it cannot be It is ok to sin It is ok to sin No It is not ok to sin Because then You will be complaining Why my deeds are not accepted There is no shame in sinning But the biggest shame Is when we sin But there is no repentance We are not focused Of the Kaaba in the heart But we are focused About other focuses Then who to blame You see Allah made it Very easy for us La ilaha Illa Allah Where do our hearts Our minds go To the heart Our mouth goes To the heart Allah Allah Heart Everything is here Because why You are making That focus In the heart And then The Prophet SAW Says Do not blame your sins On them Do not deem yourself Innocent By finding fault In them Do not elevate yourself Above them Do not introduce work Done for the sake Of this life Into your work Done for the next life Do not be arrogant When you sit with others So that they avoid you Because of your bad character Do not whisper To someone While someone else Is present Do not be haughty To people For this can cut Off good deeds Cut you off From good of this life And the next Do not tear people Into pieces With your tongue And so that On the day Of resurrection The dogs of hell Will tear you To pieces In the fire Allah SWT Says By Allah Who draws forth Do you Do you know What are these I said May my father And mother be your ransom Ya Rasulullah What are they He SAW Said They are the dogs In hell That draw The flesh from the bones I said May my father And mother be your ransom Ya Rasulullah He SAW Who is capable Of overcoming These vile characters And being saved From them He SAW Says O Mu'ath Truly It is easy For the one Whom Allah Most high Makes it easy The narrator said I never saw anyone Who used to recite More Al-Quran Than Mu'ath On the accounts Of this hadith Very famous book So this is This is the way Last week We spoke about The three people The three levels Of murid khut But what makes The final person The sheikh Of the right The proper murid Is that he uprooted All of this He uprooted The illnesses In his heart And that's our job In tariqah is that Nothing else Anything else in the job In the tariqah Is khidmah Service These two things Khidmah to Your family Khidmah to Your community Khidmah to The jamaah Khidmah to your parents Khidmah to your teachers Khidmah to your neighbours Khidmah khidmah khidmah And to make Your heart better Through what? Through the suluk of tariqah Through the zikr And especially Through the connection In the heart Not just physical Not just physical But in the In the heart So this is what we call Da'irahu Mahabba Love The circle of love When you enter That first level Of tariqah Is that connection With your sheikh He You must feel That warmth And love From your sheikh Not in the physical sense But in your heart And that's what Tasawwur is for That's what you Being connected for That's what All of this is for If that warmth That love That mahabbah Is not there Then How are we going To achieve Mahabbatul Rasul Because that In essence Is the mahabbah Of the Prophet S.A.W Upon all of us Upon all of us But we must Make ourselves better We must do the work The sun Is always giving light But if you're Going to sit inside And close All of your blinds Then what light Are you going to get You get what I'm trying to say You have block out curtains You switch on your aircon You close everything You won't even get The heat of the sun The same is for the heart If you're going to have Block out Going to block out The sun from entering The heart Then it won't be any use So when the people Are sitting at the sun They feel hot Right And then after that They understand They can use this heat Like what we're seeing On Friday The different type of rays That comes from the sun You don't see the different Grades of rays Nor do you But you feel the effect Of the heat of the sun And the light of the sun And you change The same thing You might not see How your sheikh Does the work But if you see change Within yourself Then it's working But the ego will say No It's not working I have higher dimension I can go higher Then go to the moon The moon gets its light From whom? The sun Then go to Jupiter Go to Mars Go to Saturn Go to Pluto Go to wherever But you're still going to Get it from the sun Same Where else can you tawaf? Except for the Kaabah of Allah In fake Can you go and tawaf At You know Orchard Road Where there's a fountain In front of that shopping centre You tawaf At that shopping centre Why you tawaf here? Got water Cooler I can wear my sports shoes And now I can make tawaf Nothing You'll get nothing You will get dunya That's what you get But if you do that At Kaabah of Allah Every tawaf You make zikr The angels Are above you Baytul Aqiq Is above you There are so many Levels of Jannah Right above Right below The Arash So many Looking at the Kaabah itself Is an ibadah Even if you don't Recite anything Looking at it Is an ibadah And that's why they say Looking at the face Of one who's close to Allah In itself Is also an ibadah What more If you have that connection With your heart So the work of tariqah Is the work in the heart So that our limbs Will produce better work For our dunya In sha Allah So this is what We must think about From this week To next week In sha Allah Why are we here?
