Aloha mai kākou. O Briela ka'ula i poi, ko'u ino apiha. My garment is a visual representation of the beauty of the ocean. It is crucial to bring awareness to littering and how it impacts our oceans. Many sea mammals are affected and killed from ingesting plastic debris. In order to protect the sea animals and the beauty of the ocean, we must collectively work together by taking care of our oceans. I made the flare jeans to represent whitewash from waves and the tranquility of the ocean. My shirt represents the sun and warmth, which sheds light on the importance of ocean preservation. Next, my hair accessory is blue and gold, which draws connection between the sun and the sea. Lastly, my bracelets are made out of recycled plastic bottles found on the beach.
