The speaker, who is Hawaiian and attends KES, created a garment that incorporates Hawaiian values and culture. They used mixed media on denim and painted "Imua" and "trust" in the colors of their school. They also printed a vinyl of an iwa bird pointing towards the word "trust." The speaker practiced the values of faith and trust throughout the process of creating their final look. Aloha mai kakou, oaimara ko'u inoa. When I was creating my garment, it was important for me to incorporate themes of Hawaiian values and culture. Being Hawaiian and attending KES has allowed me to ground myself in who I am and what my purpose is. Living in a world with no guarantees, the iwa bird is a reminder and symbol to have faith, patience, and trust that God is guiding us in the right path. I printed a vinyl of an iwa bird pointing and flying towards the word trust. Throughout this entire process, I practiced the values of faith and trust, which guided me to create my final look.
