She shares her experience birthing five children naturally, including twins unexpectedly at home. Maya emphasizes the importance of natural healing methods over medication, highlighting the need for individualized care based on cultural and physiological differences. She advocates for self-care through yoga and meditation to maintain balance and recharge as a healer. Maya's spiritual beliefs and personal experiences shape her approach to childbirth and overall well-being, emphasizing the uniqueness of each person's journey. But with Evolution Project, you've got Evolution Project here, we have Evo Profile, and we're going to be talking today with Maya Stout, and I'm allowed to introduce myself, we've got some of the new students on the podcast today. And what title do you call yourself when you're focusing on, this is going to be a podcast for meditation too? I don't know, you call yourself a yoga guru? I'm not too familiar with what title you would give yourself, but speak on who you are, and then I'll ask you a few questions and we'll dive into it. Okay, so my name is Maya Stout. I don't label myself as a guru of any such, especially not yoga, because I've only been doing it for about two months, meditation about three years now. But I do label myself as a natural hair stylist, as well as a loctician. I'm also a doula and an herbalist. I focus on nutrition and health, mostly the holistic way, so that means like no medication, whole births without medication, things like that. I basically got into the... How many babies have you birthed? I've birthed five. Yeah, I've birthed five babies naturally. Three in a hospital, and then I birthed twins at home in 2023 in May, to be exact, the day before Mother's Day. And I didn't even know that I was having twins. It was actually a surprise, because I didn't want to know the gender, as well as I didn't go to any appointments. I didn't go to any appointments. Well, I did go to one appointment, and that was to confirm the baby heartbeat and things like that. But I didn't do the ultrasound and stuff like that. So when the time came to give birth, I was just getting prepared, and it ended up being two babies. And they both came out breathing, which means they both came out feet first. And usually when you go to the hospital, they would have tried to schedule an emergency section and told me there was no other way that the babies could come because they were breached or whatever. Right. So being that I did it at home, I was able to let God be the doctor and just kind of say so and things like that. That's deep. Yeah. Never heard that before. That is deep. Yeah. There's people that I've heard that have died if the baby was breached. And this happened to you two times. No, that happened, well, basically, yeah, two times and one in basically 30 minutes. In 30 minutes, right. Yeah, because they're 26 minutes apart. And the only reason those people probably ended up unalive or deceased is because of something that the doctor made them do, like lay on their back while giving birth. Women are not supposed to lay on their back while giving birth. We're supposed to stand up, squat, you know, shit like that. So you stood and squatted? Yeah. I was eating and everything. You said you was what? I was eating watermelons. You know, when you're at the hospital, they tell you you're not supposed to eat or drink anything because you have to do a surgery and all that. Yeah, I was comfortable in my own home. In the living room. That's beautiful. That's beautiful. Yep. I did it on live, Facebook live. Yep. Yep. Wow. You know, I started doing some podcasts previously on like Facebook live. And one thing I regret about doing that is like I should have done it on like YouTube because live, I want to say in like, in delete, like after a couple of months, it's not permanent and you're there. That's a start. And I know you're really special there. I hope that someone else recording sees what you have. You can keep that. Well, I actually ended up after, after we did the live, I actually ended up downloading it to my phone. So when I downloaded it to my, yeah. But you just reminded me, I'm going to go put that up on YouTube. I'm going to put it up on YouTube. Yeah, definitely. Definitely. That's, that's, that's powerful. Yeah. Because it's too many of us dying. Too many. And when I say of us, I mean, copper color being not black people, not African American. I mean, the original people, um, the beginning and the end, you know what I'm saying? Right. Yeah. So it's too many women dying. They actually think that when we complain about pain, they think we're exaggerating. They believe that so-called African American and black people, we don't have pain. You know what I'm saying? Like, I have one baby boy. He's 11 now. He just learned how to swim, just going through school, learning how to swim. He's doing classes at like the YMCA, learning how to swim. It's beautiful watching him grow up. It's amazing. But, you know, when I remember when he came into this world, I remember watching him come out the hoo-ha. And I was holding the leg while she was getting the epidural. So she had all these pincers on her legs. So when my baby mama, I just held it. And my mother, she always was stressing that she shouldn't get an epidural. She was like, we real women. We old school. We went through the pain. We ain't do no epidural. Don't you do it. Don't you do it. And it really messes you up after. It messes you up after. Yeah. And she cared for it, too. She got back pain, too, darling. Well, most people do. Most people do. But you said, you just said something that made me think of that was when you said that most of the time when we're going through the pain, people take it for granted. Yeah. When you go through pain, you're looking at it the wrong way. You're like, oh, shit, it hurts. But you should be thinking more like, oh, shit, I'm alive. Like, I'm alive. I can feel this pain. Thank God that I can feel this pain. I know that I can feel this pain. So I know after the pain, I know it's something better that I'm going to feel. See, a lot of times we look at like Dr. Yaki said. Shout out to Dr. Yaki. He always say like, we look at everything the wrong way, like when we so-called sick or we have a cold. We look at it so negative instead of saying, oh, shit, my body's working. My body is working and my body is telling me early that something is wrong. Or whenever it tells you. It's notifying you that something is wrong. So that means take action. But instead, we look at it like, oh, I'm sick. Let me take the medicine. When the medicine ain't doing nothing but slowing down the healing process. Because it's coaching you. You know what I'm saying? Instead of treating it and healing it, they're telling you that it's treating you, but it's really slowing down the process instead of you fasting and, you know, drinking herbs to heal it naturally. Things like that. So like, yeah. So when I was giving birth, like I was saying, I was eating. I was drinking. I had a tea from the Goddess Collection. Shout out Crystal Akalai Dula at the Goddess Collection. She has a labor package. She's a Bodajian Dula. That's actually who I got certified to. Well, I'll say ordained through. Yeah, amazing woman. Amazing teacher. She actually has a package. Like I said, it's called the labor package, which contains a certain key for pain, to ease the pain in delivery, as well as something that can help boost the baby's heart rate just in case, right? Because we always know that whether we're in the hospital or at home, sometimes we lose souls. Souls come back. Sometimes they don't want to stay in this realm, and they decide to, you know, come through, teach a lesson, and go about their business sometimes. But she has a key that you can, you know, put into the baby's mouth if you feel that it needs to be. And I actually ended up using one on the second twin, because we had a little time getting her out. Because like I said, she came out feet first. She was bigger. Her arm was stuck, so that caused her to, like, take longer to get out or whatever. So she was kind of discolored when she came out. She also has a key in that package for the heart of the woman to keep your heart stable and beating the way it's supposed to beat so that, you know, you won't have a heart attack in labor and shit like that. So she has that. What else do we got? She's got a couple of different keys in there. Like, I mean, she got you right. We have people out here that we can go to other than somebody that wear a white coat. That's basically what I'm saying. You know, somebody that actually just get paid just to, like, they don't even really do the proper test on us. Like, when they treat us at the hospital, they comparing our people, like copper color people, they comparing us to a 64-year-old white man, Caucasian, someone from the Caucus Mountains, something that we don't even have the same stomach acid percentage. You know what I'm saying? So it's like if they comparing us to that person, that means they treating us as we're that person. So, of course, none of their medicines even work for us. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's deep. It's deep. It's deep. Like, we aren't the same. Like, they're not like us. They're not like us. Like, I'm so serious. Okay. That's one side of the sexual movement, what I do and the lifestyle that I live. And the meditation come more into the balance of recharging myself. So I'm a healer. Most of us are. We heal in different ways. Like, your podcast is a healer. You feel what I'm saying? Right. We still have to, as healers, we still have to have a place where we can go recharge. We have to find things to recharge ourselves because if we don't and we keep draining ourselves, then we'll be unbalanced. And then you can't be right. You can't help nobody if you're not right. Right. So that's where yoga and meditation come into play. I'm a Gemini, so I have nine that roll. The twins, they are Taurus. So they were born May the 12th, but they were supposed to be born May the 22nd, which is my birthday. But they decided to come a week before. May 22nd. Okay. Here we go. Okay. Yeah. Okay. My dad is doing it too. That's crazy. Yeah. Okay. Good energy. Good energy. Yeah. I was really trying to get to it, but you were so deep in it. I was like, man, I can't talk right now. I did a meditation podcast, but you got so deep. This isn't going to be a meditation podcast. I don't know how deep you're going to do it in a meditation. We're going to let it keep going and see where it develops. I'm like, man, do the Maya. If you want to change the title of this podcast, you can, because you got a lot of information. Well, the meditation will go into that work as well, because we have to find a way to get the mommy grounded and keep her mind stable and stuff throughout the situation. You know what I mean? Because, once again, she's not going to be medicated. So, I mean, even though most of the women that's medicated in the hospital, they still be on edge. But we have to keep her mind at ease the whole time. It should be never a time throughout labor that she's worrying about anything. So meditation will come and do it. You know what I'm saying? Shoot, sometimes yoga, because you have moms that do yoga the whole time they're pregnant. You know what I'm saying? So, yeah, all of that play a role in it. It's like working with the sacral chakra. Do you, I wanted to ask you about, are you familiar with any Pilates? Is that a part of yoga or is that something separate? You said, is what part of yoga? Pilates. Pilates is more like a higher type of workout. So you can put Pilates in Pilates. You can't even put nothing with Pilates. But you do do some type of yoga poses, I believe, in Pilates. But them Pilates girls, they just different. Like, they different. They different. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I haven't heard of some Pilates girls. Mm-hmm. They the OGs. The Pilates girls are the OGs. Okay. Yeah, they the OGs. Okay. And I don't even really know too much about Pilates, but what I've seen and the bodies that I've seen, they next level. Yeah. Okay. Okay, well, I'm going to go ahead and ask the question for an introduction. Go ahead and tell me where you're originally from. Share that information with the people. Okay. Well, I'm originally from Richmond, Virginia. I was born and raised in Richmond. I just recently moved out of Richmond to Chester, so I'm kind of getting my feet wet just getting out of the city and what I'm used to. I'm looking to actually move out of the country if possible. That's my ultimate goal, to have land in a different country, probably have some land here too in the United States, but get more throughout of Richmond, Virginia. Okay. It's 1111. Okay, gotcha. Well, do you feel like anything else you want to share right now? Because you gave quite a bit of information. I just don't know what the title you're going to go with for this podcast. You went very in-depth. And two breached babies, I felt like that was the highlight of the podcast. It was a shocker. I knew he was doing a doula, and I was like, man, I really would like to get the information on that and share that. And then you spoke on delivering a baby standing and how well it was and that's the proper way it should be done. I was like, that's great for the podcast. There's certain themes and topics that have been discussed, but it hadn't been brought to a podcast, and you just brought it cohesively without even knowing that that was, like, something that I had on, like, one of my gold boards, you know, like, I need to get this done, this done. You definitely hit some great topics. Okay. I appreciate that. I'm glad that I could. There's definitely so much to talk about that the people need to know. So whenever you, you know, have a topic and you think of me, shoot, I'm here. Definitely, definitely. So we're going to talk offline. We can figure out this topic. And I wanted to do meditation, too. Wow. I don't know what to put it as. I was like, Calbert, but, like, no, you're a doula, doula Maya. I don't know what we're going to do with this podcast. But the information you shared was definitely life-changing and powerful that needed to be put onto the podcast because that could definitely educate people. A lot of people, there's a lot of pregnant people, they're always searching for stuff, getting a bunch of books. And then, you know, they get their first child and they treat it like it's something fragile. And then you get your second and your third and you see videos where people are like, look at that baby. You know, it's a different mindset over the time. Yep. Because now when it's twins pride, I just be like, Gotcha. Gotcha. So let me make sure I got the board up here. Great podcast. Wow, we almost did 20 minutes. I'm going to make sure we're going to end this one here right now. Evolution Project is here to educate and each one, reach one, each one, teach one. And we're going to talk about how to do that. We're going to talk about how to do that. We're going to talk about how to do that. And each one, reach one, each one, teach one. And we've got a great podcast today. First group podcast I've done with Maya Jeweller. Yeah. You're legendary. That was special. And I hope the people enjoyed it and definitely take something from it because I had never heard the story that you just shared with me. And I'm sure there's many others that haven't, so that's definitely going to be beautiful for people to get educated on. And Evolution Project will be out. All right. I'm going to call you back, okay? Okay.
