Rainy and the tattoo story...

The old man is hosting a short show and talks about meeting a young lady who does doodling and cartoon drawing at a festival. He asks her about her tattoo and she tells a story about getting it late at night. She goes to a walk-in tattoo shop that is locked, calls the number on the door, and a man with a popsicle comes to open it. She gets a simple tattoo and is unsure how much money she has to pay, so she gives the artist all the money in her wallet, which turns out to be a $50 tip. The old man finds the story amusing and wonders if the artist used the tip money to buy drugs. He advises people to be cautious when getting tattoos. Welcome everybody, I'm the old man, writing from the kitchen. What a hot day it is today, but we'll just look away because we are so happy to see blue skies even though it's 94 degrees. Well, no, we're not that happy. I guess I could rant and rave about the weather all day too, come to think about it, but I've got an exciting show today, it's going to be a short show, but I think you'll really enjoy it. Just recently we went out to Cosby Days, which is a big festival at Seaport, Washington, and we ran into a very interesting young lady who does doodling and cartoon drawing. She sat down in the booth with us and talked about some of her experiences and we looked at some of the artwork and we were really impressed. One of the experiences that she's had is what I call just so interesting. Now, a lot of people know that I've kind of got this thing of, well, I like to talk to people that have tattoos, especially women. So I had noticed that on her arm she had a tattoo. So I kind of asked her, how'd you get that tattoo? And she came back with a story that I think you'll really enjoy. You go right ahead, Rainey, and explain to us in detail, mind you, how this whole thing occurred. I've got to get up and go look for ice cream. Now, we'll start at the beginning. It was your birthday. It was my birthday and I was itching for a tattoo. And you wanted a tattoo. And I wanted a tattoo and I wanted it that day. That day. That day. No other day. That's the day. Right. So I found the nearest walk-in tattoo shop. Walk-in. And you'll notice at this point, she's actually, at that time of night, that's 8 o'clock at night, looking for the nearest walk-in tattoo shop. That should have really drawn some attention to what was about to happen next. But did it? Oh, no. Here's how the story continues. It was 8 p.m. at night and I tried the door. This place was supposed to close at 10, so I knew it was open. Yeah. And the door's locked. I didn't give you a clue that something might have gone wrong. I should have turned around right then and there. Yeah. Okay. So I call the number on the door and the person that picks up says, huh, there should be somebody in there. So he gives another guy a call and out comes this man with a Popsicle in an apartment building right next to it. Kind of a big guy, I imagine. No, he was pretty nice. He was a nice guy. There's five girls in here waiting for tattoos, and my tattoo artist is like, okay, I'm about ready to finish up with the detailing, and it's a very simple tattoo, just a couple inches. And the five girls walk in, and I'm done with my tattoo, and I'm getting ready to pay. It's considered a minimum tattoo, so it was a hundred bucks, and in my wallet, I didn't know how much money I had, so I thought I was giving them no tip, and I was kind of scared, so I just gave them all the money in my wallet, and he was looking down at it with a puzzled look on his face, and I was like, okay, I've got to get out of here, because I didn't give him a tip, but it happens I gave him $50, and he made me ring a bell because I was a big tipper. And you got to ring the bell. I got to ring the bell. And then you figured out how to get out of there. Yes. And I got out of there as quickly as possible. Absolutely amazing. I really appreciate your taking a moment to tell us how to get a tattoo at 8 o'clock at night on your birthday. That's the way to do it. Thank you. It's really hard to put into words how exciting you would be just knowing that you gave a tattoo artist who didn't know how to do the job properly because he was under the influence a $50 tip. I often wonder after he counted a tip if he had to close his store just long enough to get to his local pot shop. You know, the state of Washington needs those tax dollars, and I'm sure after a hair-raising experience of being able to misplace your girlfriend, be locked out of your own store, and on top of all that, have all those customers waiting, you'd have to have something to calm you down for sure. So remember, folks, the next time that you get the yearning to get a tattoo, do me a favor, will you? Check things out first.
