Steve Recording 1 with Long E words and sentences
Mrs. Kett instructs Steve to complete a worksheet by listening to her recording. The worksheet focuses on words with the long E sound, using different patterns such as E consonant E, double E, and single E. Mrs. Kett also includes sentence practice with varying word counts. She encourages Steve to go at his own pace and listen to the recording as many times as needed. The recording ends with Mrs. Kett wishing Steve good luck. Hello Steve, this is your teacher Mrs. Kett. I want you to get your paper that I sent you. It's a lot of pages. Look at page number one where it says Steve's worksheet number one and number two. This is work for the next two weeks and covers the next two recording sessions. The directions do not start this worksheet until you're actually listening to me doing the recording. Okay so you're going to do it as I'm talking. So you must fill out the worksheet as you listen to my voice. Okay are you ready? I'm giving you lots of hints Steve. So the first group of words that we are going to do are words that have E consonant E to make the long E sound. For example your name Steve. S-T-E-V-E. V is a consonant so it's E-V-E. Okay here comes your first word. Number one. Concede. Concede. Number two. Complete. Complete. Number three. Precede. Precede. Number four. Severe. Severe. Number five. These. These. Number six. Gene. Gene. Number seven. Sincere. Sincere. Number eight. Delete. Delete. Now Steve you can stop the recording anytime you need to and you can go back if you need to listen to it again. So please you can go at your own pace. Okay I'm going to say all of those words the E consonant E words one more time. So take a look and check. I'm going to say them one more time. Number one. Concede. Number two. Complete. Number three. Precede. Number four. Severe. Number five. These. Number six. Gene. Number seven. Sincere. Number eight. Delete. Okay now we're going to do a long E sound again but with double E. For example the word green. The color green. It's G-R-E-E-N. Double E means it has two E's. Okay so each of the words in this group will have two E's to make the long E sound. Okay here we go. Number one. Seed. Seed. Number two. Eat. Eat. Number three. Street. Street. Number four. Sheep. Sheep. Number five. Sweet. Sweet. Number six. Bee. Bee. This is like the animal bee. Okay I'll say them each one more time. Number one. Seed. Number two. Feet. Number three. Street. Number four. Sheep. Number five. Sweet. And number six. Bee. Okay please go to page three. Okay Miss Cat made a mistake on page three. The long E with E-A pattern with example heat. I forgot to erase some of the letters so there's nothing to do here. I'll just read them to you. You can practice writing them but there's nothing to do on this part. We've got number one. Read. Number two. Lead. Number three. Meet. Number four. Beat. And number five. Treat. You could just ignore that part. Okay let's go on to the next part which says long E with single E by itself. That means it's just one letter E. Okay for example we which is W-E. Okay The first one is knee. Knee. The second one is bee. Bee. The next one is she. She. And the last one is he. He. Okay let me read those to you again. Number one. Knee. Number two. Bee. Number three. She. Number four. He. Okay now we are going to go on to sentence practice. In this part you're going to write the sentence that you hear. Miss Cat has written a number of words that are in each sentence as a helpful hint. So try listening a few times and then writing the sentence. Count to see if you have the correct number of words. Okay so in other words I will say the sentence but you also know how many words will be in the sentence. Okay so here we go. Sentence number one. Sentence number one has five words.
