The person is being guided to relax and focus on their eyes. They are instructed to look up and take deep breaths. They are then told to close their eyes while keeping them strained upwards. The person's eyes become heavy and they are encouraged to focus on the sound of the speaker's voice. Their eyelids become locked and they are unable to open them. They are then guided to imagine being in an elevator going deeper into relaxation. The elevator doors close and they descend to a deeper state of relaxation. Rich, lying back, please make yourself comfortable. Make sure that your hands and feet are not quite touching and using just your eyes, please look up as high as you possibly can as if you're trying to look into your own eyebrows. Keep your eyes glued to that spot overhead. Take a deep breath in. Hold that breath for three, two, one, breathe out. Straining your eyeballs up, take another deep breath in. Hold that breath for three, two, one, breathe out. And one more time. Take another deep breath in. Hold that breath. Strain your eyes up. This time, as you breathe out, keep your eyeballs up, but simultaneously close your eyelids right down. The nerves in and around your eyes are becoming heavy, droopy, drowsy, and you can forget all about your eyeballs and just allow a drifting, floating feeling to develop in your body as you focus in on the sound of my voice and try to memorize every word I say as you feel your eyes becoming more and more locked, tighter and tighter now, more and more locked, like your eyelids were made of lead, were glued shut.
