The transcript is a conversation between Chris, Kevin, and Damari. They are discussing their hidden talents and skills, as well as their experiences in basketball and academics. Chris reveals that he is bilingual in Spanish and English, while Kevin talks about his job in the emergency room at a hospital. They also talk about their majors and the classes they are taking. They briefly mention their free time activities, such as lifting weights and playing video games. Alrighty. So today, my name is Chris. I'm a freshman. We are in our FYS class right now and we're doing a podcast. Do you guys want to introduce yourselves? Yep. Freshman Kevin Overton. Freshman as well, Damari Mendoza. Okay. Nice. Nice. So we were given like a topic that we want to like talk about, I guess, and it says discuss a hidden talent or skill that you have that not many people know about. Use your interview skills to draw a specific detail of your partner's skills such as blah, blah, blah. Do you guys have any talents? Because like I don't really have any like... I mean we can talk to the star, you know, basketball. Talk about that, yeah. How do you feel about the previous games? We've been alright. Describe alright. I mean from the outside looking in, I feel like people think it's whatever it is. It's easy, it's hard, but you're just trying to focus on certain stuff within all of that. Like even when you win, it's supposed to feel like a loss. We're always trying to improve and I think that's the main focus right now. We got the Cayman Islands on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. So we leave tomorrow morning at like 4 a.m. Aren't you exhausted? Yes. Damn. How do you like balance academics and like that's a talent in itself. Study all. Like we gotta study all Monday, Tuesday, Thursday I believe. But just knowing that you have to get it done. Like some classes are easier than others. Like the stuff that you know you can just knock out, you have to knock it out as quick as you can. How do you feel about this class? This is probably one of my more complicated classes. Like it's a lot going on. Like history, I'm sure one of y'all has history or had history. Yeah. So in that class it's just like inquisitive or like something you do and you know exactly what you're doing each week. With her you never know. Are you going to listen to this? I'm not even going to edit this out. No, no. No, this is real. We love you, man. We love you. We swear. Nothing again. But Damari, what's your hidden talent? Um, damn. I don't know. Well, I really don't know. Anything though. Like what, like it doesn't have to be cool. Like it can be anything. Like Professor Wilson said just now, can you hop on like one foot. That's crazy. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah. Um, oh my God. I don't know. I don't know. I'm bilingual maybe. Oh yeah, that's a good one. That's a talent. So like I can speak two languages. Oh, okay. Yeah, it's crazy. I speak, first of all, my first language is Spanish and then my second language is English. But I suck at Spanish and English. So it sucks. Okay. Wow. Okay. Being bilingual is like a really good skill though. Yeah. Just because it's just good being like, like exposed to different things. Yeah. True. When people ask you or say something in Spanish, you can understand them like fluently. I can understand them. I mean, yeah. Well, yeah, I speak the language. Oh, okay. I didn't catch that. That's crazy. Yeah. Yeah. I'm also bilingual. Yeah, I thought so too. I was like, hmm. What do you speak? English and Vietnamese. Damn, can you say something? Yeah, say something to me. Say something. Sing happy birthday. Sing happy birthday. I'm not going to sing happy birthday. Please, please. No, what do you want me to say? What do you want me to say? What do you want me to say? Say hi, how are you? I'm nice. I'm so. Okay. That's the simplest way I can put it. Yeah. Yeah. He just called us something bad. In fact, he just cussed us out. That's crazy. Yeah. Bilingual is cool. Basketball is cool. Yeah. Cool. Yes. Do you want to talk about how you have a job? Like your job. My job? Yeah. Oh, my job. That's so cool. But his job, like you're like a freshman and you're already doing this stuff. Yeah. So I work in the emergency room at a hospital, which I probably won't say. He doesn't want us to visit there. We'll see. We'll see. In fact, it's super cool. Like I get, like I'm pre-med, so like having that job is pretty nice. But I get to do pretty cool things. I get to work with like doctors and nurses. And I guess there's like so many things I could say about it, like because there's so much stuff. But I think like the coolest thing that I can do is probably like draw blood or like do like something called like a blood culture. You like test for different things and like infections and stuff like that. So that's like the coolest thing I can do, I feel like. But there's like so much to the job where you can't just like narrow it down to one thing. Yeah. So question, you, I'm sure you probably told me, but what's your major? I'm double major. Double? Damn. I got to take a breath before I say anything. Oh God, okay. Health Sciences, but in the Health Sciences, it's Clinical and Medical Sciences, but I also major in Neuroscience. So I'm in the College of Pharmacy Health Sciences and the Colleges of Arts and Sciences. Oh God. There's a lot of sciences. It's not as bad as you think, because like the classes that I have to take for like Health Sciences, it corresponds with Neuroscience. I only got to take like a couple extra that don't match up. So how many classes do you have? Right now, I only got, I'm only taking 15 credits right now. Okay. That's not bad at all. What about next semester? 16 credits. 16? Yeah, I take 16 right now. Yeah. It's not, it's honestly not that bad. It's not bad, yeah. But it also depends on how your schedule is set up though. Yeah. Yeah. Like what's the latest you're getting out of school? Man, boot camp for success, 430. I get out at like 420. Oh, 420? That's not too bad. Yeah, it's not too bad. Ask me. Like what? Sociology, 9 p.m. Oh my God. That's crazy. That's terrible. That's brutal. That's not. That's crazy. Yeah. It's ridiculous. Oh my gosh. No, because like since the time is changing, like it feels so depressing. Coming in class, it's all bright and sunny and then you're out and you're like damn. You know, it's also like depressing coming out of chem test and it's dark, bro. Oh my God. Like it's 6 p.m. One hour. Yes. Oh my God. Like you come out and you're like sad about the chem test. It's dark as hell outside. Thanks. No, that's crazy. Yeah. Let me see. All right, Professor Wilson. Now we know. Like we went away from like the topic question, but hey, like we're getting. It's flowing. It's flowing. We're using our skills. It's tough. Free flowing. I actually see it right now. And natural. It's the keys. But let me think. Like what are y'all doing y'alls free time? Like not necessarily a talent or a hidden skill, but like what's something that you do in your free time? Like video game wise or something that you know, like this is going to take my mind off of school or whatever. Yeah. Yeah. I think my biggest thing probably is like, I mean, I low key like, like lifting nuts or something. How much you lift? Yeah. I lifted yesterday actually. What are you? Upper body? Huh? Are you an upper body person, lower body or everything? Everything. I used to be. I used to be. I mean, right now, honestly, more upper body than lower body, but I used to be lower body over upper body. But now it's just whatever. Yeah. I feel that. Yeah. Because I mean, legs is cool and all, but shit. You're going to feel it. Yeah. You're going to feel it for sure. Do you lift at all? Yeah. We lift every day actually. Oh yeah. Every day besides game days really. Like if we had no games, we're lifting six, seven days a week. If possible. Damari. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift. I don't lift.
