The speaker and their friend discuss different fragrances from their childhood and teen years. They mention Love's Baby Soft, Gina Tay, Rosemilk, Joy, White Linen, and Crabtree and Evelyn. They reminisce about their mother's perfumes and the memories associated with them. They also mention Jovan Musk and knock-off perfumes they used as teenagers. The speaker's daughters enjoy her perfumes, Estee Lauder Pleasures and Michael Kors One. They briefly mention Jo Malone perfumes. about, I just wanted to have a quick chat with my sissy. Hello. Shelly's in the his house. A sissy poo. With fragrances that are somewhat nostalgic. I saw a headline where people were talking about, you know, smell is the most, the longest, I think it's the longest memory you have. Yes. And I thought, okay, what are some fragrances from your childhood, teen years, from either mom or yourself or anything, really? Yeah. Well, thinking back to my earliest childhood, I remember going into my sister Julie's room and this vision of baby soft perfume that that that egg-shaped, egg-shaped pink bottle. Yep. It was forbidden. To touch? Forbidden fruit to touch. That was probably my first experience with scent. Love's Baby Soft. Love's Baby Soft. Yeah. I love Love's Baby Soft. I still would wear it if it wasn't so sweet and people wouldn't think I was. But I might still, you know what, I'm gonna do that from now on. 2024 is gonna be the Love's Baby Soft year. Oh my gosh. I mean, I think you could start a new movement. I think so. Let's bring back the Baby Soft. How about Gina Tay? Gina Tay, wow. I actually ended up buying a, I saw a Gina Tay powder, one of those big round flat powder boxes of Gina Tay's. I think it was at CVS. Of course. And I think I bought it just for, just for nostalgic purposes. Yeah. I would, and you can still buy that now, you know. Gina Tay you can still get. Oh yes. And just, just the packaging alone, that yellow, and of course her cursive, her signature immediately transported me back to my childhood. The smell immediately transports right back to Edgecombe Road. Yeah, I agree. Another one I thought of too was, I love Gina Tay, but is Rosemilk. Remember Rosemilk? I don't remember Rosemilk. So that must have been something that, that was a big, it was in a pink bottle. It said Rosemilk and it was pink. It sounds very old lady-ish. It was. I bought it on eBay like five years ago and it, again, brings you right back. It does. It's amazing how smells can just transport you back to that moment. I remember when mom and dad would go out on a Saturday night and, you know, she would come in to hug me, kiss me goodnight, and she just had this rich aroma of like, the smell of like adults. Yeah. Night out on the town with dad. Yeah. You know, I had that like with Gina Tay. It wasn't love, baby stuff. It was joy. It was joy. Was it? It was joy, I believe. Yes. I believe it was named Joy. And I don't even know if you can still buy that, but I do remember loving that smell. That was mom's smell. Yes, it's joy. Yeah. And I know she, she would let me come in her room, in her bedroom, and I would sneak in there sometimes in, in that boudoir she'd have. Yeah. I don't remember her displaying her perfumes, but she, I think you'd have to open a drawer. You did. To find them. You did. And I would pull out a bottle of white linen, Estee Lauder white linen, and I would sneak a little spray. Yeah. And I'd feel so, wow, this is like, I feel like, you know, a grown up. And so. Because mom would hide her perfume, and also hid her cookies. She did? They were the ideal cookies that no one could eat. They were the long cookies. Oh, those, the chocolate? Yeah, the chocolate. The Keeblers? Yes. Do you know that I actually think I went on eBay at one point? Yeah. Trying to find those, those cookies. So mom had a habit of hiding. She did. She'd find something really precious. Pretty. And, yes, and that, but that white linen that, I found it when we were going through mom's things. Yep. After she passed, and I thought, oh my gosh, this is a little bottle of white linen perfume. And I sprayed it, for the first time I sprayed it, and again, immediately transported me back to that time when I would go in her bedroom and try on her perfumes. And I thought, oh, I need to have this, I have to have this. So I think I scooped that up, Yep. And I use it, I use it on my little potpourri pillows. I love it. In my, in my, in my intimate drawer. Or whatever. Intimates. Intimates. Spray it on my little pillows and tuck them away. And it's so sweet. That's very Anvinette-ish. Very Anvinette-ish. And then the Crabtree and Evelyn. Okay, so Crabtree and Evelyn. That other one, too, wasn't it? That was like soap, though. That was soap. Yeah, I don't think there was any perfumes. It was soap, maybe lotion. It was a smell. I don't know. It was a smell. And the packaging was just so intricate, beautiful, like fruits and vines and flowery, flowery vines. And I think we went to Cooperstown with Mom one time, and we went to a Crabtree and Evelyn store, and I mean, it was so special. Of course, I bought some soaps there, and I tried to make them last as long as possible. But I don't think you can find Crabtree and Evelyn anymore outside. I don't know. I'm going to have to look it up. I know you can get the Gina Tay. I know you can get the Love's Baby Soft, because Sophia likes it. I don't know about Joy. I'm going to have to look that up. And I don't know if you can get the Crabtree and Evelyn. Yeah, Crabtree and Evelyn. That's right. And then the other one I used to love was the Jovan Musk. Did you ever use that? Jovan Musk, no. No, that was no. No. With the orange top on it. Oh, you'd like that smell. You can still get that. What were the ones that we used to get as teenagers that were the faux? I remember the Giorgio. Giorgio, and you could get them at CVS. I remember they smelled just like Giorgio. I remember you got one. Yeah, because I wanted the real stuff. My friend, Shawna, had the real stuff. Was it Giorgio? Yeah. One of them was Giorgio. They had a few knock-offs. Yeah, the knock-offs. They were knock-offs. Those were nice. Those sent right back to when we were kids. It does. Music and perfume, I think, are the strongest. Yeah, they are. They say the smell is the strongest memory. The memories. It immediately just tap into your memory cells. So, any memories. What kind of smells are your daughters getting? So, my daughters really like my perfume. Which is? My everyday perfume is simple. It's Estee Lauder Pleasures. Oh, nice. It's just an everyday, pretty, not too sweet, not too spicy. Estee Lauder? Yeah, it's Estee Lauder Pleasures. It's got a round silver top. And then, if I want to go out on a town, go out to dinner, I use Michael Kors One, which I like. It's a little bit more intense, a little bit spicier. For the night time. Yes, of course. Lady of the night. Lady of the night going out on a town with someone special. So, yeah. So, I use that. But, of course, I'm sure that there's better perfumes out there. I haven't really indulged too much in perfumes. I haven't either. Have you ever tried Jo Malone? She's English. No. Okay. So, Bridget turned me on to her a few years back. She gave me a little sample. It's absolutely gorgeous perfume, but it's really expensive. My everyday is an Estee Lauder Beautiful. Oh, beautiful. That's right. But, my cream is Jo Malone, and I need to use some more. Jo Malone, okay. It's Orange Blossom. It's absolutely gorgeous, but it's pricey. But, those are the smells in a sense. Yes, Gina Tay, Baby Soft. Yeah, the Crabtree and Evalon. Crabtree and Evalon. For me, also the Jovan Musk, and some of those knockoffs. Well, thanks, Shelly. Well, it was my pleasure. Well, have fun. We'll do this again. Thank you, sister. Okay. All right. Bye. Until next time. Bye-bye.
