The podcast will compare women and men's roles during the Civil War, covering military service, home front contributions, spying, propaganda, and more. Personal stories will be used to show how women and men contributed. Harriet Tubman and Martin Delany will be focused on, as they had an impact on civil rights movements in the 20th and 21st centuries. The podcast aims to clarify their influence on modern movements. Another part of my podcast will consist of comparing women and men's roles during the time of the Civil War. I will look at military service, home front contributions, spying and intelligence, propaganda and political influence, the impact of war on gender roles, the aftermath and the legacy, diversity of experiences, personal stories and perspectives. I will use the personal stories to tie together all of the different aspects and ways that women and men contributed to the Civil War during these times and I will focus on Harriet Tubman and Martin Delany. Diving further into Delany and Tubman, I will focus on how both of them had an impact on the 20th and 21st century movements of civil rights. I understand that it may be difficult for some people to understand how these figures directly impacted these more modern movements, but I look forward to dissolving the unclarity of these figures.
