The hosts of the radio show, Sports Uncaged, discuss various topics such as the potential starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the March Madness brackets, and upcoming college basketball games. They also make predictions for the NCAA tournament, including their picks for winners in different matchups. You're listening to WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. It's 2 o'clock. This is Sports Uncaged. I am your host, Christian Mitchell, joined alongside here by Braxton and Will, as always. Been a couple weeks out of this chair, but man, it's been some very exciting times. March Madness coming up in the heat of NFL free agency. Too many things to talk about. We want to focus this episode mainly on March Madness, not for this intro segment, but we're going to be going through and making our own brackets over the air, something we've been talking about for a little bit. Now that I'm seeing it in front of me on my phone, I'm very excited for it. But before we get into all that, we cannot not talk about Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, now both new members of the Pittsburgh Steelers. We'll start with Braxton here. If you're the Steelers, who are you starting, day one, Justin Fields or Russell Wilson? I think they're going to battle it out first. I think it's going to be a battle first, but I believe they're going to start Russ first. Because Justin Fields has never had that situation of being behind a veteran QB and learning from someone. Because let's be honest, there was no Bears veteran QB except Nick, was it Andy Dawn or Nick Foles at that time? I think Nick Foles was there. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Boo. No, that's not good. I think Russell Wilson is going to be the day one starter and Justin Fields is going to learn behind him. But I don't think Justin Fields is very far off from Russell. Okay. What do you think? For Justin's development, I honestly think they're going to start Russell and everything that I meant. I just let him develop and behind and then, so I can really get the experience I learned from Russell himself. But yeah. No. Yeah. I mean, I agree. I think Russell is probably, even though he had those, let's not sugarcoat it, he's been terrible. Not so much last year, but especially that first year in Denver, it's horrible. This Steelers team, it reminds me a lot of when he went into the Broncos where it's like, oh, they're just a quarterback away. Their defense is good. Their skills are pretty good. They just need a quarterback. It's the same thing. He kind of has an opportunity to almost redo his time in Denver with a similar situation now in Pittsburgh. I'm just not the biggest Dangerous fan no more. Yeah. No. Also, Pittsburgh's got to get some receivers now. Deontay's gone. What can I say? My Panthers made a move. You know, Deontay's gone. Deontay's gone. It's just pick-ins, and I don't even know who the receiver to there is now. I think it's like Armstrong or something. Hey, we love talking about this. Deep receiver class. Feels like a receiver is a heavy need for the Steelers. The ground game should be good with Najee running, you know, two miles an hour, but Jalen Warren back there, they complement each other pretty nicely. We'll get into March Madness brackets after this. This is Sports Uncaged. Welcome back. You're listening to WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student radio station. This is Sports Uncaged. Today, you know, finally getting into this March Madness stuff with the games officially starting on Thursday. We're going to have a couple of the first four in-games later this week. Just overall, very exciting time. And to start this very long round of 64 bracket, the first game is UConn being the one seed out east versus number 16 Stetson. Shout-out to Stetson for making the tournament. It's great as a small school. Love to see you. We'll be seeing you for one game. Yeah, yeah. It's done. Yeah, UConn. Yeah, UConn, not much more to say about UConn. Yeah, I know. They're reigning champions of their conference now the last two years and overall last year. No way they lose to 16 seed Stetson. That would be crazy. I don't know. Exactly. Stetson did it. That's all I know. Moving forward is an eight versus nine, a game that we were talking about a little bit during the break is FAU number eight versus number nine Northwestern. And in this game, I'm going to have to take Northwestern. The eight and nine games, there's not really an underdog or a favorite, but FAU being or going to the Final Four last year on a crazy run has to make them a favorite a little bit. A little inconsistent this year. I'm taking Northwestern. Yeah, like you said, I'm also going to take Northwestern here. With FAU, I think they're going to have that Final Four sophomore slump type of deal. I also think Northwestern, their big thing on that team is big men. They've got some really good big men down there, grabs rebounds, second chance points. I think Northwestern is definitely going to win this one. I'm also going to go Northwestern as well. You've seen them play last year. As you said, they haven't been able to grab points when you need them and everything like that. Also, wearing purple jerseys boosts your overall. Somehow it works like that. When you've got cool jerseys on, you're cooler in my eyes. Moving on to the five versus twelve, the five seed San Diego State taking on number twelve UAB. After UAB just won their tournament literally yesterday over Temple. It's always the upsets from the five and twelve here. I'm kind of either way. Respectfully, I don't want to pick UAB because they just beat up on Temple. I'm going to go San Diego State here. I'm going to have to go with the Aztecs as well. I haven't watched that team that much, but I know they're really good in the paint. Especially with their forwards and stuff. I don't know much about UAB, but I feel good about the Aztecs on that one. I also feel good about the Aztecs. Like I said, I don't really know much about San Diego State or anything like that. But I've got a gut feeling that San Diego is going to beat them. San Diego State is coming off of a deep run last year. It feels like they've kind of been always hanging in around there the past few years. Moving forward, we've got No. 4 Auburn taking on No. 13 Yale. The Ivy League kids, man. Making it into the big dance, but checking out early. There is no way that Yale beats Auburn. This is an Auburn team that I think is going to go pretty far. And I got them here. I mean, Yale almost lost to Brown in the Ivy League tournament. The buzzer beater, yeah, right? And Auburn just came off an SEC tournament win. So I got Auburn also on that one. I got Auburn. I have the most faith in Auburn. I don't want to see Yale getting past this round, but yeah. I get that. Yep. Moving forward, we've got No. 6 BYU taking on No. 11 Duquesne. We talked about this a little bit before. I'm kind of in between here. I took BYU in an earlier bracket. I'm picking Duquesne here. You know, it doesn't make no sense, but Duquesne just won their conference. This could be one of those random small schools that makes a run. And the Mormons up in BYU. I don't know how I feel about this. Again, I mean, we talk about March Madness, upset after upset. I think this one's also going to be upset. I think Duquesne's going to take this one over BYU. Nah, man. I'm going to go with Duquesne right there just because I do think it's going to be one of my favorite teams that does upset on March Madness because you never know what happens. Yeah. I mean, there's a reason that the random Instagram dogs make it better than these analysts because there's no predicting it. Moving forward, we've got the three seed Illinois taking on the four team seed. I'm sorry. Moorhead State. Relatively unknown. Moorhead State has played, you know, major teams, but that includes losses to Alabama, Purdue, and Penn State. I have a good record. I just can't see them getting it done. Where is Moorhead State? I don't know. Why does the team logo look like it's from a high school? I don't know. That's why I'm rocking with the Fighting Illini. Yeah, rocking with the Fighting Illini as well. I'm going to Illinois. Moving forward, number seven Washington State taking on number seven Drake, not the rapper. Just thought I'd put that out there. Still picking Drake. I don't know much about Washington State. Drake has been randomly in the tournament a little bit. This is also a token of my appreciation to the rapper Drake. Got to give him one. God's plan. Disagreeing with you on that one. Washington State really good from the three-point lines, and I think that's what they're going to tear Drake up on, just on the three-point line. I really don't know much about Washington, but I'm going to pick Washington this game. Could be one of my sleepers. Moving forward is number two Iowa State versus number 15 South Dakota State, which now is two straight appearances for South Dakota State. Sorry, two straight appearances with no wins. Iowa State is coming off of a huge upset win over Houston, and they're also going to be going on a run. I'm going to take them here. Absolutely. I actually think Iowa State is going to go on a run as well. I'm very confident in Iowa State this year. Coming off that huge win and everything. I'm going to take Iowa State. That has an effect on Houston and everything. When you have that momentum going into March, you see teams build momentum and go all the way. I can see Iowa State going. Moving forward, now we're going to be in the West. One seed in the West is going to be UNC taking on either Howard or Wag. Whatever Wag is, it does not matter who they're playing. Exactly. We're going to be taking UNC, the Tar Heels. I would assume that's pretty common from all three of us. We're going to move forward to the eight versus nine out West in Mississippi State versus Michigan State. Just off of pure Tom Izzo Michigan State bias, also shout out to MMG, I'm going Michigan State over Mississippi State. Shout out, MMG, by the way. Mississippi State. I'm going Mississippi State because they have in the SEC, I know the SEC is not the basketball, but Mississippi State has competed against those teams very well. As a matter of fact, beat some of those teams, including Tennessee. I have Mississippi State winning this one. Honestly, it's going to be this one because they have that title and everything in order to beat Mississippi State. Yeah, Mississippi State was the one that beat Tennessee just in their conference tournament. I just go Sparty. Moving forward in this side's 5-12 matchup, another kind of, I want to pick the upset here, not too sure. It's number five, St. Mary's versus number 12, Grand Canyon. It's like, wow, Grand Canyon is a new school. I've seen your ads and stuff, I guess, but St. Mary's coming in at 26-7, beating Gonzaga, and have only lost two games since Christmas. Can't. I can't go the other way. I see why. I wouldn't hate the Grand Canyon pick, but for me, I got to go with the girls. Yeah, I mean, I would also go with St. Mary's here. I mean, hot, hot, hot team. I think they're going to carry that momentum over. I'm going to go with St. Mary's. Like I said, man, you need momentum heading into March, I can really carry them. Yes, that's just one of those things. Popular upset pick here coming up again is number four, Alabama, taking on number 13, Charleston. I took Charleston to upset. Whoever they played in the first round last year, don't remember, but they did it. I'm rocking with Charleston again. Shout out. Go Cougs. Cougs, I'm also going with Charleston right here. Oh, man, I'm going to upset here. Alabama, man, when you have that offense, when you have that defense, when you see them play it, like I said, I'm going to go upset. Definitely a difference in SEC and whatever conference Charleston is in. But I just, you know, somewhat local. I'll claim it. Go Charleston. Moving forward, sticking to somewhat local is the number 16, Clemson, taking on number 11, New Mexico. Clemson did beat UNC earlier this year in UNC, but, but, there's always a but. I'm picking the University of New Mexico. Go Lobos. I'm with you, okay? I hate the orange. We're going with New Mexico. We're going with New Mexico. There we go. Clean sweep for New Mexico there. Moving forward, number three, Baylor taking on number 14, Colgate. Colgate is always somehow in the tournament as well. I'm going to go Baylor. Baylor bears here as the three seed. Yeah, I'm not going against the toothpaste company. I'm going to choose Baylor here. I'm going to choose Baylor as well. And now with just two games left out east, we've got Dayton, number 17, taking on number 10, Nevada. I'm going to take number 10, Nevada, over Dayton, who's been struggling recently. Steph Curry graduated like 15 years ago. Nevada is my main sleeper in this tournament. I believe that they're going to go to the final four, actually. Wow. I know. This is my extremely hot take. But, yeah, Nevada. I could also do Nevada. Nevada is going to be extremely far. You're taking Nevada? Yeah. Okay. And then our final matchup out west is going to be number two, Arizona, versus number 15, Long Beach State. Nothing more to say here. Go Caleb Lowe. Shout out Long Beach, Joe. Yeah. Shout out. And that's going to take us through half of the round of 64. We'll be back for the second half and finishing out the racket after this. This has been Sports Uncaged. You're listening to WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina University, student-run radio station. This is Sports Uncaged. I am your host, Christian Mitchell, joined alongside here by Braxton and Will. In the first segment, we're going through our March Madness brackets, and let's just hop straight back into it. We are now making our way to the south division, where we'll be the number one seeded Houston, taking on number 16, Longwood. Sorry, Longwood. Can't tell you one thing about you. Exactly. Where is it, bro? Yeah, go Houston. I assume that's the common answer here. Longwood's one of those teams you've got to get ESPN Plus for to rock. Moving forward, it will be the eighth seed, Nebraska, versus the ninth seed, Texas A&M. Here, normally I like going with the ninth seeds. I'm going to take Nebraska there over A&M. Me and you, man. I'm with you on Nebraska as well, because A&M, yeah, they've beat a couple of strong opponents, but they've also lost to, like, some of the smaller colleges. And I'm like, I don't know how I feel about you. And Nebraska, I just feel like Nebraska's going to move on. I'm going to go with Nebraska. I'm not confident in Texas A&M. Yes, SEC ball is not the same as it is for football, for sure. Moving forward, another five versus 12. Number five seed, Wisconsin, versus number 12, JMU. The Sunbelt winners. I don't want to do this, but James Madison is upsetting Wisconsin. It's happening. I'm pretty sure it's going to happen. I hate JMU so much that I can't even pick one. So I'm going with Wisconsin. I fully understand. I'll be going to Wisconsin. I can see a Wisconsin upsetting JMU. It would be JMU upsetting Wisconsin. I'm going to go James Madison. They won the Sunbelt. They just are good at every sport for whatever reason. Yeah, 12 v. 5, very common for upsets. I know that's what's going to happen here. Moving forward is the four versus 13. It's going to be Duke versus Vermont. I'm taking Jared McCain and being two days into college over Vermont. It's Duke. They're a blue blood. They've been good all year. They've been good forever. They're not getting outed by Vermont. Three lectures behind are also good, dude. I'm also going to have Duke. I really haven't heard of Vermont. I don't really know the play. So, like I said, they've been playing really well. They've been good. Yeah, I'll take Duke. Got you. Moving forward, we have the six-seeded Texas Tech versus the 11-seeded NC State. I'm taking another upset. Here I'm going with the 11-seeded NC State after just beating UNC for the conference tournament. I think NC State coming in as an 11-seeded is kind of disrespectful. I think they're going to show that they're not an 11-seeded right out the gate and beat Texas Tech. Yeah, shout-out CCU legend, Grayson McCall. I'm also going NC State here. I'm also going Texas State. With that big upset and everything, I think they will carry that momentum. Marsha Madison, we should take them all the way. Moving forward, number three, Kentucky versus number 14, Oakland. Again, I'm taking Rob Dillingham here. Shout-out, Rob. Get shifty. Get to the buckets. Number three, Kentucky. Moving forward. Wildcats. Wildcats. Got it. Moving on, we've got number seven, Florida, taking on number 10, either Boise State or Colorado. Now, this game, I'm going to mark down that Colorado or not Colorado. Boise State beats them if they play. I'm picking Boise State over Florida, hoping they end up beating Colorado, but that's how I'm feeling. I think either team is going to beat Florida. I'm not confident in this Florida team, and all I've heard was hype around them. Is it only the seventh seed? I don't know. I'm going with whatever team wins that. All right, gotcha. I'm not really confident in Florida, and I'm saying you're going to see them struggling and everything. Going back to what you said, I'll take Boise State or Colorado. Yeah. All right, that'll be the 10th seed, which is weird that the 10th seed is having a play-in game to me. I don't fully understand that. Anyway, moving on is number two, Marquette, versus number 15, Western Kentucky. No shade to Western Kentucky and Bailey Zappi. I just think Marquette's going to go pretty far this year, and I'm going to take them here. Yeah, Marquette's one of those teams you find in the tournament always, and they're always good. They're just a basketball school. I believe Marquette's going to win this one. I also think Marquette's going to win. They're always in the tournament, like you said, and all of us at Colorado. They always want to find ones that are aggressive. They know how to win, and they've been in other situations before, but yeah. Very experienced. Now we get to our last quadrant. It's going to be number one, Purdue, versus Grambling, or I believe Middle Tennessee State. Purdue, they are terrible. They play one seed. I'm not sold on them at all. I know you are. I'm sold. But I'm going to pick them here. Yeah, I'm going Purdue. I think they're going to win it all. I think they're going to catch some hot. I'm also picking Purdue. I can see them going far. We let the talent in there. I believe in them. Moving forward, this side's eight versus nine. It's going to be Usa State versus TCU. I'm going to take the nine-seed TCU. Again, purple jerseys, cool jerseys, and Big 12 basketball is really good. Yeah, shout out my brother's girlfriend, Alex. She goes to TCU, so I'm taking the Horned Frogs, baby. I'll take the Horned Frogs as well, man. Moving forward, we've got the five-seed Gonzaga versus the 12-seed McNeese. I believe McNeese College is 30-3 coming into this tournament. It just has not really played the most relevant teams. It's been in the popular upset. Not for me, though. I'm picking the dogs. Yeah, Gonzaga is shaky this year compared to other years, but I think they'll win this one. I don't think they're going much farther in this tournament. I completely agree with that. What do you think, Louis? Even though they've been shaky, I still believe in Gonzaga. I'm going to pass here. I think that would be McNeese. You're going McNeese? No, no, no. I've got to go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, next matchup is going to be number 14, Kansas versus number 13, Sanford. Kansas, Rock Chalk, Jayhawk. Come on now. That's all. Yeah, I'm going to go with Kansas. That's all I've got. I've got Kansas. Moving forward is number 6, South Carolina versus number 11, Oregon. Now, this is a pretty good game. I like both of these teams overall. I already see you emoting over there. I've got to go with South Carolina. USC, go Cots, baby. I'm going with the game, Cots. I'm going with South Carolina as well. Up next is number 3, Creighton versus number 14, Akron. Sorry, LeBron. I'm going to have to go with Creighton. I think Creighton is another one of these teams that can go really far this year. I like them a lot. Creighton's speedy. Speedy team. I've got Creighton. I've also got Creighton. They're fast, speedy, fast. Sunbow. They're going to play well together. They have the chemistry. I'm going with Creighton. Up next will be number 7, Texas versus either number 10, Virginia or Colorado State. I'm picking Texas over either one. Yeah. Big 12 basketball. Yeah, come on. Big 12 basketball. Exactly what I was going to say. Texas. Texas, huh? And then our last of the Route of 64 is going to be number 2, Tennessee versus number 15, St. Peters. Now, Dougie McBucketts and his mustache are not on St. Peters anymore. It will be a great story. And Tennessee has been shaky this year. Not changing my take, though. Go Vols. Yeah. Tennessee, beginning of the year, a little shake. They got them hot towards the end, though. I think Tennessee will win this one. I also say Tennessee will win this because, based off your play last year, I think they have the experience they've got to continue to go for. All right. So now that we're in the round of 32, all of our brackets are going to look slightly different. I'm going to just read out my matchup. If your matchup's different than mine, just say who you're picking in between that. So to start things off from my side, it's going to be UConn versus Northwestern, number 9. I'm going to take UConn to move on there. Yeah. I got UConn winning that one, as well. UConn, huh? Yeah. UConn sweeped there. My next matchup is the 4 versus 5 in Auburn versus San Diego State. I'm going with Auburn. Yeah, I'm going with Auburn. Just too red hot right now. Now, Auburn doesn't have momentum in their lead, though, so I think they'll continue to prepare them into the tournament. Up next is going to be number 11, Duquesne versus number 13, Illinois. Go, Duquesne! Go, Duquesne! They cannot be all high Cs left in the final four of that region. I'm going Duquesne. Yeah, fighting Illini for me. Yeah, and I'm going Duquesne, as well. Wow. Moving forward, for me, I know this is different for you all, I have number 10, Drake, versus number 2, Iowa State, picking Iowa State to move on there. Yeah, my matchup's different, but I'm also going Iowa State right there against Washington State. Yeah, I have confidence in Iowa State, so we'll go Iowa State. Moving forward in the left, I got number 1, North Carolina, versus number 9, Michigan State. I'm going to take UNC. Yeah, I have North Carolina going against Mississippi State. UNC has gone way better towards the end of the year, so I'm also going to go in UNC. And then my next matchup... I'm also going to UNC. They have momentum and everything. They've been playing for a year. Up next, for me, is the 5-seed St. Mary's versus the 4-seed of Charleston. I'm going Charleston here. I think they'd take two games. Yeah. Gotta go with the hometown Cougs for me. Gotta go Charleston. I got Alabama and St. Mary's, but I think I got Alabama in the game, because they've been playing Leland and everything. Got you. Up next, for me, number 11, New Mexico, versus number 3, Baylor. This is... Am I really about to pick New Mexico? I am. I'm going to roll with the Lobos again. I'm just not very high on Baylor. I'm going to go with the Baylor Bears here. I'm going to go with the Baylor Bears as well. Moving forward is number 10, Nevada, for me, versus number 2, Arizona. I am going to take number 10. No, I'm sorry. I'm going to take number 2, Arizona. Shout out to Kayla Love. Going Nevada. Going Nevada. Taking the upset. And for our last game, right before the break, I've got number 1, Houston, versus number 8, Nebraska. I'm going to take number 1, Houston. Yeah, I'm also going to say number 1, Houston. Yeah, Houston as well. Houston as well. I don't know how far Houston's going to go after that. Not very confident in them, but I think they can take care of business and handle Nebraska. And we'll be back, finishing up our bracket. This has been Sports on Cage. You're listening to WCCU, Coastal Carolina University, student-run radio station. This is Sports on Cage. I am your host, Christian Mitchell, joined alongside by Braxton and Will. We've been going through our own March Madness brackets, and the game that we left off on is number, for me, number 12, JMU, versus number 4, Duke. You know, I kind of really want to take James Madison again. Not going to do it. I'm two days into college. Go Jerry McCain. I have Duke versus Wisconsin. And I will also go Duke here. I'm also going to Duke versus Duke as well. Go Blue Devils. Moving forward, I've got number 11, NC State, taking on number 3, Kentucky. Part of me wants to take NC State again. I'm not. I'm going to go. Nah, I'm going to go with NC State here. I'm going to go with NC State. I'm going with NC State because Kentucky just looks a lot different this year. A lot of young guys on that team. I don't think they have enough experience on that team to go much farther than the second round. And I have NC State taking that upset. I'm going to go with a sleeper pick here. I'll go with Kentucky. I think they'll get it together, get the experience in there. I think that Coach will take them farther. Look, I really want to pick Kentucky for Rob Dillingham. Love that kid, but NC State, after that win against UNC, I feel like they're going to be really hot coming in. And that's going to be, for me, number 2, Marquette, taking on number 10, Boise-Colorado. I'm going Marquette. I'm also going Marquette. Marquette. Moving forward in the Midwest is now number 1, Purdue, taking on number 9, TCU. And there goes number 1, Purdue, for me. Wow. I'm taking the horned frogs right there. I'm not a big fan of Purdue. Zack Eddy has just never been able to get it done. It's kind of like the Cowboys every year. I'm not buying into it. That's a fair point. I'm going Purdue. I'm going with TCU, man. I like what you said in there. For real. And then for the next game, it's going to be number 5, Zaga, for me, versus number 4, Kansas. Talked about Zaga being shakier this year, and I believe it. I'm rolling with number 4, Kansas. Yeah. I mean, Zaga's not the same team. I'm also going Kansas. I'm also going Kansas as well. And now that's going to bring us to South Carolina versus Creighton. I like Creighton a lot. I also like South Carolina a good amount. They are coming off of an absolute blowout loss to Auburn in the tournament. I'm going to go Creighton. I'm going to do it. That's a fair take, and that's what I've been hearing. But, listen, Auburn is just one of those teams that just smokes that's in basketball right now. Everything else has been competitive. I'm going to stick to my garnet blood here. I'm going South Carolina. I'm going Creighton. That's full bias, by the way. Moving forward here is number 2, Tennessee, versus number 7, Texas. I am normally a pretty big Tennessee fan. Not today. I'm going Texas over Tennessee. I'm going Tennessee. I think Tennessee's going to get hot. I don't really like how Tennessee's looking or anything, so I am going to take Texas. And now we're going to be into our sweet 16 here. For me, it's going to be the number 1 seeded UConn taking on number 4 seeded Auburn, and I am taking Auburn to beat UConn there. Yeah, I agree with you. Again, like we said, Auburn is just so hot right now. That team has got a future, but they are really good right now. I'm also going to Auburn just because of the fact when you have a momentum going to March Madness, that can continue to take you far. And they put the straps on. They play good defense. My next game here is going to be Iowa State versus Duquesne. I'm going to pick Iowa State there. Sorry, Duquesne, your run ends. Yeah, mine right now would be Fighting Illini versus Iowa State. Don't want the Fighting Illini. All right, I'll be going with Illinois State. You're going with Iowa State? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got you. Okay. For the West, now for me, it's number 1 UNC versus number 13 Charleston. I'm going to take UNC there. Yeah, I think that's where it ends for the Cougs right here. UNC's just a little too good. I'll take UNC. Tar Heels? Yes, sir. I'll take Tar Heels. It'll be the winner of Arizona and New Mexico. I'm taking the Lobos again. I don't think Arizona's that good. Caleb Love, the transfer from UNC, is not going to give us a UNC rematch. My match-up's completely different than yours with Baylor and Nevada. Again, I think Nevada's just going to be one of those teams that just gets hot. It's just a weird team for me. I'm thinking I'll have Nevada. I'll take Nevada, yeah. Nevada, okay. Up next is number 1 Houston versus number 4 Duke. Not very big on Houston. I'm going to go with Duke here, even though they're young. I'm going to go with Houston. I am big on Houston. I'm big on Duke, so I'm going to go with Duke. Gotcha. I mean, that's a tough one. That's going to be like an instant classic almost. Moving forward for me is number 11 NC State versus number 2 Marquette. This is a tough one. This is a real tough one. Do you have the same one, Braxton? Yeah. Yeah, okay. I like both teams. I'm trusting my gut and going with Marquette. Yeah, so the thing about NC State is that you're, again, I know I've said the word hot so many times, but they're catching fire towards this end of the year. Something about NC State, man. It's just in me right now. I'm going to choose NC State. I'm going to choose NC State as well, man. NC State, okay. Up next is going to be number 9 TCU versus number 4 Kansas. I'm going to go with TCU. Kansas, in its tournament games, has had two of their leading scorers hurt. I would assume by the time they get to the Sweet 16, they would be feeling better. It's just not enough. I'm going to go with TCU. Yeah, like you said, I'm hot on Purdue, so I'm going to go Purdue against Kansas on mine. I'm going to go on TCU because of the fact that Kansas, they didn't have a lot of star players right now. And then the last game in the Sweet 16 is going to be number 3 Creighton versus number 7 Texas, and I'm going to go with number 3 Creighton. Yeah, for me it's South Carolina versus Tennessee. We beat Tennessee once this season, then we lost on the second time. I think Tennessee is also going to win this third time against South Carolina, so I think I got Tennessee winning that one. All right, I got Creighton, man. Creighton? Yeah. All right, so now we should be into our Elite 8s. I've got Auburn taking on Iowa State, and this is where things get hard. I'm going to go Iowa State. I like Auburn, picked them to win in a different bracket, just splitting it up here. Going to go Iowa State. I got Auburn versus Illinois. Choosing Auburn. I got the same thing as you. I got Illinois. Illinois. Yeah. Three different answers there. I think that's the first time that's happened. Moving forward, for me I've got UNC versus New Mexico, and UNC, again, is just going to prevail. I think they're done after this next round, but they're going to get there. I've got UNC versus Nevada, and I know I said I got Nevada on the Final Four. That was my bracket that I made earlier. I got UNC winning this one because I think UNC is all around just a very good team. All right, man, I got the same thing as you. I also think UNC. Moving forward, we've got number four, Duke, taking on number two, Marquette, for me, and I'm going to go with Duke. Yeah, I have Houston versus NC State on this one. Going wolf pack. I got Duke and Marquette. Marquette. Okay, the NC State pick. I can't say I hate it. Up next I've got number nine, TCU, versus number three, Creighton. I want to say that Creighton makes the run, but I'm going to take TCU. Something about TCU also being the ninth seed, I needed to split my bracket up a little bit. I'm going to go TCU. Yeah, I have Purdue going against Tennessee here. I think Purdue is going to win this one. I think Tennessee is going to get wore out. I can see Creighton going so far, so I'll go Creighton. Right, and that should bring us to our Final Fours. My Final Four is Iowa State and North Carolina, and then on the other side, Duke and TCU. Honestly, I like those picks so far. In my head, at least, they sound reasonable. Between Iowa State and North Carolina, I'm going to go with the Cyclones. I'm going to go Iowa State here. Just after watching them absolutely destroy Houston the other day, I'm sold. Yeah, for my East-West, I got Auburn versus North Carolina. I'm going Auburn. I think Auburn gets the hot hand right there. All right. I got Auburn on Alabama. I got Alabama going far, and then I got Duke. Wow. And Kansas. Auburn, Alabama in a Final Four? Oh, my goodness. That would be intense. I got Duke. You got Duke? Yeah. What about the East-West side? I'll go with that. Who are you picking? It's a tough decision. I know. All right. Alabama? You're rolling with the tide? Yeah, man. All right. For my South-Midwest, I've got Duke versus TCU. And I don't – like this Duke team has suddenly found their way to the Final Four. I'm going to go with TCU. I can't go TCU. I'm going to have – we ride with Jared McCain. Okay. Okay. All right. I got NC State versus Purdue. I got Purdue in that one. And we've got ten seconds right here. So we'll be back to wrap up the rest of the bracket as we go on to our final matchups in Final Four after this quick break. You're listening to WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina University's student-run radio station. This is Sports Uncaged. I am your host, Christian Mitchell. We're here going through our brackets together. I have my championship set. I believe we all have our championship set. So I'm going to start things off. I've got number two, Iowa State, taking on number four, Duke. I can almost guarantee you nobody else will ever have this finals. But I'm going to go with Iowa State. Did not realize that I got Duke this far. Just been riding the cyclone wave. I'm going to be a part of the hurricane, you know. Yeah. No, that's a good choice. Honestly, a good upset choice, I should say. I got Auburn versus Purdue. I'm going to go against my first bracket, too. I got Auburn winning it all here against Purdue. I got Auburn versus Duke, and I got Auburn winning it all. Okay, clean sweep there. Auburn, I really like Auburn. I feel like defense, like the things that you need in my head to win in the tournament is defense and to shoot the three. They do both of those things. And that's just kind of what it comes down to. I'm just pretty excited. It should be a fun one. March has really rolled up on us this year. Did not realize that I had Jerry McCain reach in the finals now that I'm, like, looking back through my bracket. But it is what it is, you know. Shout out to Charleston for being in the tournament. I do love how in college basketball there is a lot of just random small schools that can go on the line. That makes it exciting. And, honestly, this year should be no different. I just, as a watcher, I don't really have a college basketball team. This is still some of the best time of the year. Oh, yeah, 100%. And it keeps us in the loop or held over while NFL free agency was going on, which I want to get into here with our last, you know, minute and a half right before the break. Obviously there's been a lot of moves. We'll ask Braxton real quick, what was your favorite move so far? I hate saying this in front of you all right now. Saquon Barkley to the Eagles. That's amazing. That Ravens getting Derrick Henry as well is probably one of my favorite moves as well. I got Devin White. Somehow, somehow, how we got Devin White over to the Eagles. I don't know what type of dirt he has over there, but I really liked that signing because we did really last year need linebacker help. Desperately needed linebackers. Yeah, we couldn't tackle at all. Like all year. And I feel like that's what the Eagles as a team have needed for, like, the past, like, ten years. Yeah, we never invest in our linebackers. So to bring in Devin White is really nice. I'm hoping, praying that we draft another linebacker, specifically Jeremiah Trotter Jr. from Clemson in the draft. Or at least just add to that room because it was such a struggle. Sticking with the Eagles, my favorite signing was their other good defensive signing. Not Bryce Huff. CJ Gardner. Yeah, bringing in CJ and Chauncey, welcoming them back. You know, it's a lot like a toxic ex-relationship, the things that were said. It's kind of funny looking back on it. But at the end of the day, I don't care what you said about us. You're on our spot now. You're back home. You've been so good. You were so good with us. And we need you. I love you. You know, go birds. I want to thank you guys for listening. This has been Sports Uncaged. We'll be back next week.
