Details
The 1968 release of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida and album of the same name was written by Doug Ingle who passed away May 24, 2024 at the age of 78. He was the sole surviving member of the band Iron Butterfly. The name of the song and the album came from the story that organist and singer, Ingle had downed a gallon of wine and as he played the song, the drummer Ron Bushy wrote down the lyrics. Ingle thought he sang In The Garden of Eden, but Bushy wrote what he heard from the slurring Ingle.
