Public health prevention is the best way to manage and prevent maternal mortality among young women. Ensuring access to quality health care at different levels will promote better behavior in preventing maternal mortality. Here are three levels of prevention. First is primary, education and awareness. This will teach young adults about the importance of parent care, family planning, and a healthy lifestyle. Next is secondary, screening and detection. It is important to screen while pregnant in order to identify any complications during pregnancy. Third is tertiary, emergency care. Once a mother finds out that they may be greatly affected by their pregnancy, they must be under emergency care in order to keep them safe in case of hemorrhage, eclampsia, or worse. Another important form of tertiary prevention is postpartum care. This is important for ensuring that the mother is in good health a few months after childbirth.
