Keyword_search: attachment, non-attachment, feeling, joy, happiness, mind, Zen, monk, master Question_content: Questioner: I'm sometimes attached to non-attachment, definitely. Today I experienced a very unusual feeling, which was joy. I mean, I know what happiness is, but this was joy. I don’t even…I can't even recall experiencing it before. And right away, I started saying to myself, don't get attached to this, because then it's going to leave, and you're going to feel, you know feel bad. And so, I mean I was controlling the situation, because I said in my mind, don't get attached to this. Don't get attached to this. So I wasn't able to really be with the joy. Larry: That's right. Questioner: I was attached to the non-attachment. Larry: Well, the words about it. The words about…. Questioner: And I do that sometimes when I'm enjoying myself. I just kind of you know…It's not a very kind way to be. It’s, don't enjoy this too much, because then it'll go, and and you'll be disappointed. I think what I…you know if I could just say, don't get attached to it. If I could say it in a loving way, maybe… Larry: It's not… you…don't…forget…. I think it can be helpful sometimes to say the saying, but the main thing is, not saying, it's seeing. There’s a…I don't remember this exactly, but there was a Zen exchange where… if any of you remember the exact one help me out. Where a Zen monk comes into the Zen master, and says, everything's dropped away. And so, then the teacher says, well, drop that, too. And he says, no, you don't understand. Everything is dropped away. So, then he says, okay, if you insist, carry it around. End_time: 01:06:21
