Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have partnered with Louis Vuitton for a new campaign called Core Values. The campaign focuses on values like going beyond physical boundaries, excellence, and pursuing dreams. Federer and Nadal, who have had a famous rivalry in tennis, posed together on Italy's Dolomite mountain range for the campaign. Louis Vuitton's Core Values campaign celebrates travel, working with exceptional individuals, and the transmission of dreams. In contrast, the USTA (United States Tennis Association) leadership is criticized for their failures and lack of commitment to the sport. The author calls for their resignation and expresses support for Federer and Nadal's positive impact on tennis. Roger and Rafael have teamed up with Louis Vuitton for a new chapter in its Core Values campaign, announced on Saturday morning. The campaign emphasizes values such as a journey beyond the physical, a commitment to excellence, and the transmission of dreams. All of us who know and follow tennis from 2004 to 2019, Federer and Nadal faced off 40 times on the ADP Tour, including nine major finals. Federer has won 20 Grand Slam titles, while Nadal has 22 and counting. Their rivalry has captivated tennis fans worldwide, often making it impossible to mention one without the other. For the campaign, Federer and Nadal set aside their rackets and embarked on a journey to the summit of Italy's Dolomite mountain range. Renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz captured them smiling together on the mountain, with another image showing them standing at the peak. The campaign's tagline, These are journeys that turn into legends, accompanies photos of the duo in the snowy mountains. Originally launched 17 years ago by Pietro Beccari, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, the Core Values campaign celebrates the brand's legacy of travel, working with exceptional individuals, and the transmission of dreams. For a clearer point of view here are the four core values that Louis Vuitton pursues in their business and now ties them to two of the greatest stars of all times in the sport. Be creative and innovative. Deliver excellence. Cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit. Be committed to positive impact. These make perfect sense and of course the tie-in to our sport is really a shoe-in. Now this campaign is very important as it has become part of the culture of the world and the elites and helps the sport in many ways. Now contrast this image of core values, legacy, champions, tennis and top of mountains with the clan of incapables at the USTA, the board and the CEO. Remember these fellows represent the dead past, the clan of the oldie boys club, the kind of people that all they want is to benefit from the game rather than serve it and they make sure that no one joins the club unless they are limited and can sing the same songs. A laughable state of leadership for a not-for-profit in America. In the last few years and weeks the points below are all the OL boys have delivered for the game, the worst part is that they will not let go of the sport until they milk its last drop. Here are just some of the failures of the 10M per year executive team, what an embarrassment to us all. Hiding sexual abuse cases and losing brutally in court. Welcomed a congressional investigation against its leadership. Sold off all money making tennis events they own to cover for losses. Censor and block any dissenters who wants to hold them to account. Settling too many discrimination lawsuits. Lying about amount of players in the USA and not caring, not wanting to address press investigations about sexual abuse complaints by rejecting to speak to the press. Losing money with money. Defending the dumb status quo at any cost, when it is a failure all around. Not firing any employees involved is the main problem. Protecting their petty jobs. Their retrograde thinking from the 30S in 2024 makes no sense. It does make sense if your objective is to milk the game, not serve it. Being fearful of dissent when dissent opens anyone's minds if you are willing to listen. But, holds you accountable if you wish to listen, so they avoid that at all costs. Cheating NYC of rent money. Not wanting to pay school taxes in Orlando. Morally bankrupt and void of decent values for the game and future. I do not need to say anything else than what is obvious. The only solution for tennis to survive in pockets of the nation, is for the board and CEO to resign, they have proven to be a true embarrassment to the nation, the sport, non-profits and human intelligence. There is no other solution, they are the problem, and to solve the problem they have to leave the building. Javier Palenque. To close simply watch the short video and compare the actions and motivations of the USTA with that of those fabulous champions, both regarding the same sport, tennis. The poor leadership of the USTA is simply a curse for the sport, a cancer to the nation and dignity, and they must, I repeat must be shown the exit door. Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer were asked how they want to be remembered in a new campaign for Louis Vuitton. Rafa, at the end what will make me feel proud and happy is when I leave this world, if the tournament directors, the people who work at the tournaments, staff, ADP, say good things about who I was on the tour, or who I am as a person more than a tennis player. Because as a tennis player, at the end, we have the titles, we have the achievements and that's how it is. I achieved more than what I ever dreamed of. So for me at the end, the legacy in terms of a human being, after achieving all the things that we achieved, for me is the most important thing. Roger, I hope if I'm remembered not only as a tennis player, but as a person behind what I gave to the game and what I represented to the game, and it was less about all my Wimbledon victories or whatever it was, that would mean a lot to me. If I can be remembered more as the personality rather than just a player, that would be great. And if I was a good role model for kids, that would make me happy too. And it would be nice, like Rafa said, if the people are happy to see us again. Not like oh no, that guy again. Now imagine if we ask the USTA leadership the same question, how do you want to be remembered by the sport, the list is above and it tells you all you need to know, they are a shame to us all. I say no to ineptitude and yes to growing the game, I can be reached at jpaulenke at yahoo.com. P.S. Imagine sending the salesperson to pitch Louis Vuitton to sponsor the US Open after reading all the things the board and CEO allow and expose the sport to for those not marketing savvy, they are destroying the tennis brand, alienating future fans, funding the wrong causes and living off the welfare system that all it does is promote incompetence and solidifies the nefarious status quo. It is is a loser all around and anyone reading this knows it, I want them out. And so should you. Letitia James The complaint is on its way. Revoke the non-for-profit status.
