The speaker learned the importance of attention to detail and storytelling in different contexts from their class. They discovered new ways to approach storytelling, such as making a tour of their workspace more interesting. They believe this skill will be useful in various situations. One challenge they faced in a project was dealing with echoey sounds, but they found a similar sound to use instead. I think something that I will be able to use in other situations and environments that I've learned from this class is having just kind of an ear for detail and more of an ear for storytelling as someone who's a writer and writes for a lot of different things and has the ability to write all kinds of different stories. I think that this class and the assignments that we have done have kind of opened me up to storytelling in different ways. Like I would have never thought to give something as boring as a tour of my workspace and my job and paint it in a way that makes it seem like it's more than just where I work. It gives it more of a tour and I think tours are something that are held really close to us and I mean kind of have a lot of influence in our lives and you know help us make decisions of what things that we want to do and places we want to go. So I think just kind of looking at storytelling in a different way is going to be beneficial in other environments and situations. One challenge that I had with the Sonic Tour assignment was that a lot of the sounds that I was recording at UREC and a lot of the sounds that I was recording in the Aquatic Center were really echoey and weren't really picking up the sounds that I needed. So instead of using those sounds I was able to find a sound that was really similar and kind of took the idea of swim lessons and groups of people that I was looking for in my project and made it so that I wasn't worried or overwhelmed with the echoing noises and just a lot of the loud background sounds of a pool.
