Hey, fellow teachers, my name is Jacqueline Medina, and welcome to Media and Technology. Today, I will introduce three media and technology resources that can support content and skill development and engage and support the learning of all students while also relating to STEM. Links to all three resources will be provided at the end of the video. First up, we have iExcel, tops the list as a complete learning platform that provides customized learning experiences in math, language arts, science, social studies, and Spanish. Teachers can create customized practice sheets and monitor student progress in real time. iExcel offers over 8,000 skills that align with STEM standards, making it an excellent resource for teachers who want to ensure their students master these skills. iExcel offers personalized learning in various subjects, allowing students to practice and master skills at their own pace. Next up is Kahoot. Teachers can create their own Kahoot quizzes or select from a large library of pre-made quizzes on the platform. This makes Kahoot an excellent resource for teachers who want to incorporate enjoyable and engaging elements into their lesson plan, ultimately enhancing the learning experience for their students. Kahoot is an online platform that uses game-based learning to help teachers create interactive quizzes, surveys, and discussions for their students. Kahoot engages students through gamification and interactive quizzes, promoting knowledge, retention, and skill development. The third on the list is Flipgrid. It is your go-to resource for fostering critical thinking and discussion skills by enabling students to share their ideas in collaboration. Flipgrid is a video discussion platform that allows students to record and share videos in response to teacher prompts. Teachers can create prompts encouraging critical thinking and discussion, making it an excellent resource for STEM classes. Flipgrid is a great way to get students to engage with each other and share their ideas about a particular topic. By incorporating these resources into your lesson plan, you can support content and skill development while engaging and supporting the learning of all students, particularly in STEM. The use of educational technology tools such as IXL, Kahoot, and Flipgrid can greatly contribute to the development of the problem-solving and innovative skills among students. These tools are designed to cater to different cognitive domains of Bloom's taxonomy, which includes remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. By using these resources, students can improve their critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills that are crucial for success in STEM fields. Your students can have a fun and interactive learning experience while also developing important skills in problem-solving, communication, and collaboration. These skills are essential for success in STEM fields and can be improved with the help of the resources available. I hope you find this information helpful. And as promised, links to all three resources. Thank you.
