Jack wakes up early for a fishing tournament. He prepares and meets his team at the docks. They set sail and encounter whales, dolphins, and tuna. They catch a monster tuna and continue to the canyon where they catch a huge marlin. They return to the docks and win the tournament. Hi, my name is Jack, and this story is about me and my experience at a fishing tournament. One summer morning at 4am, I was awoken to an alarm clock that was blaring in my ear from the bedside. I hit the alarm off and frantically got up to pack. I was digging through my drawers to find clothing to wear, a spare case just in case if I needed it if I got wet. I rush over to my bathroom to brush my teeth, and my dad comes in and asks, Hey Jack, are you ready? I frantically responded to give me a little more time. I rushed downstairs, packed waters and snacks in my bag, and waited for my father's instruction. He came down and said, Let's get in the car and let's get moving. We have a boat to catch. I loaded up the car with everything and jumped in the car to head to the docks. There was nobody out on the road, and it was eerily dark out. The cool summer wind was whipping, and there was dew all over the car windshield. We raced down the highway and passed through the city and arrived at the docks. We unloaded the car and started to walk to the gate where we met up with our fishing team, our friends, and our family. We walked down the long, seemed to never-ending dock and arrived at our boat. Right beside us to the left was Michael Jordan and his fishing team, and to the right was our competitors in the boat building industry, which the company is Viking. We said hello and went on to prep our boat for the day at sea. We rigged up the outriggers on the boat and set up our fishing rods to battle fish for the day. Finally, I got to unpack my stuff into the boat, put the stuff in the fridge, set up a little area for me to relax on the trip. I headed upstairs to the deck where I met our captain, my grandfather, and we set sail. Everyone was nodding off and passing out except for me and the captain. So I decided to go downstairs and sit by the stern of the boat where I sat and watched the skyline of Atlantic City disappear. We got to a point where we were about 60 miles out and three hours in, and all of a sudden, the lifeless ocean sprung up and started to gleam with life. A pod of whales with thousands of pilot whales started to jump out of the water and swim right alongside our boat. Suddenly, multiple dolphins started jumping and playing in the wake of the boat. Off in the distance, you could see a bunch of tunas jumping. Our captain started backing down the boat to where the fish-feeding frenzy was happening. Our fishing crew sprung into action, pointing all sorts of different directions, casting fishing lines in all different directions as well, and we ended up hooking a monster tuna. We sat there and fought with the beach for an hour and threw it in the live well to save for later. We went on to proceed en route to the canyon, which was another hour away, about another 20 miles farther. We all sat down, drank some beer, cracked some jokes, and laughed. I sat with my uncle for the time being while we went further into the deep blue ocean. We got there. We got to where we wanted to be. Our crew set up the big outriggers on the boat, and we started to coast, waiting for the big fish to catch, to catch the bait. After hours of patrolling the canyon, we finally got a bite from a huge marlin. We fought with the monster for two and a half hours, until our hands started to blister from the fight, and it was a massive marlin. We brought it onto the boat and called it a day of fishing and raced back to the docks for the weigh-in for the catches. Coming back to the docks, we ran into an ocean swell. In the ocean, the waves turned huge. They were probably eight feet high, and the boat started pounding through the waves. It was shaking like a plane in turbulence. We were bobbing up and down over the huge waves. Finally, the city reappeared, and the ocean waves started to calm down, and we got back to the dock. We hauled over our fish to the weigh-in station, and Michael Jordan was right ahead of us. He weighed in his fish. They found out he cheated by stuffing in weights. We then were up next, and then when we weighed our fish, we won the tournament. The feeling was surreal, and all of the effort came to be worth it at the end. And at the end, we took home the trophy.
