Suffolk Yacht Harbour is a working marina with a lovely view of the river and Felix Day Docks. There is a boat hoist, a workshop, and several businesses nearby. The river Orwell connects to Shotley Peninsula and Harwich. The river is not only for leisure but also for business, like boat building and other marinas. So Ed we're standing out here in Suffolk Yacht Harbour. It's a working marina. What can we see? What do you see when you come down here? So we've got a lovely view of the river and we can see Felix Day Docks and quite nicely we've got a ship that's come up from Ipswich on its way out off to somewhere else and then in the boatyard itself we've got a hoist which lifts the boats in and out of the water and then Suffolk Yacht Harbour's workshop and then behind us we've got all the businesses mentioned earlier. So it's a beautiful calm day. What can we see? From here we can see other parts of the river Orwell. Yep so on the far bank we've got Shotley Peninsula and then just off in the distance you can just see the water tower at Shotley and then past that on the other side of the store you can see Harwich. So for a lot of people they drive over the Orwell Bridge every day. Is this a working river? Yep so the river has got Ipswich Docks which ABP run and then Felix Day Docks and Harwich as well. And so it's not just a place for coming down and having a nice cup of tea. There is actually business going on? Yeah, yeah. A surprising amount of business on this river. Boat builders and many other marinas as well.
