The Daily Devotion for November 10th, 2023, discusses the different gifts and ways to serve that the Spirit gives each person in the church. Using our unique gifts to serve others helps the church thrive. We are each designed uniquely by God and have a special way of serving others. Many people settle for someone else's story and never find their own call, but we shouldn't make the same mistake. God has equipped us with skills for a purpose, and we should use them to glorify Him. Welcome to Christ Church's Daily Devotion for November 10th, 2023. Today we will be reading from 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verses 4 through 7. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in every one, it is the same God at work. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. The Spirit gives each person in the church different gifts and ways to serve. As we use our gifts to serve, the church is healthy and at our best. Max Lucado said it in this way, No one else has your ewness. No one else in all history has your unique history. No one else in God's great design has your divine design. No one else shares your blend of personality, ability, and ancestry. When God made you, the angels stood in awe and declared, We've never seen one like that before, and they never will again. You are heaven's first and final attempt at you. You are matchless, unprecedented, and unequaled. Consequently, you can do something no one else can do in a fashion no one else can. Call it what you wish. A talent. A skill set. A gift. An anointing. A divine spark. An unction. A call. The terms are different, but the truth is the same. The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others. Each of us. Not some of us. A few of us. Or the elite among us. Many people stop short of their destiny. They settle for someone else's story. They fit in, settle in, and blend in, but they never find their call. Don't make the same mistake. Your existence is not accidental. Your skills are not incidental. God shaped each person in turn. Psalms chapter 33 verse 15. Find your you-ness and use it for the kingdom. Today's personal worship option. God created you to show his glory. Do you have times that you feel you have nothing to offer? Ask God to show you what he has equipped you to do. And then do it for his glory.
