Nothing to say, yet
The Daily Devotion for January 5th, 2024 discusses the importance of choosing to serve the Lord and committing to follow Him. It emphasizes that we have a choice every day to either serve God or be self-absorbed in our own agenda. It encourages us to recognize God's faithfulness and trustworthiness, especially during difficult times. The prayer at the end asks for guidance in serving God in every aspect of our lives. Welcome to Christchurch's Daily Devotion for January 5th, 2024. Today we will be reading from Joshua chapter 24, verses 14 through 15. Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your ancestors worshipped beyond the Euphrates River and into Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourself this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Sometimes we have to renew and commit, recommit, to following our Lord. We have to choose who we will serve, and who or what we will choose will make all the difference in whether we are prepared for the storms of life. The reality is, we have a choice on a daily basis, every day, when we wake up in the morning, we choose. Do we say to the Lord, Here I am, ready to live for you today, ready to follow, lead me, guide me, direct me however you will, or are we self-absorbed with our own agenda of the day? When we consider all that God has done for us over the years, it should create in us a desire to serve Him in obedience. God is always faithful and trustworthy, and in times of stress and storms, we can hold on to Him. If we choose wisely, we will experience the presence of God in ways that surpass the imagination. The choice is yours. Who do you choose? Today's personal worship option, a prayer for today. Precious Jesus, we choose to serve you. Help us to live this out. Help us to serve you when we are alone than we are with others. Help us to serve you in our family, friends, work, and neighborhood. We pray that you would help us to serve you in every way, with our thoughts, with our desires, with our words, and with our actions. Use our lives today in ways that you are honored and glorified, and your purposes are embraced. In Jesus' name, amen.
