The speaker reflects on the idea of rescuing those who are sinking in despair and relates it to the message of Zachariah. They discuss the historical context of Zachariah's visions and the opposition the Israelites faced in rebuilding the temple. The speaker emphasizes the importance of staying steadfast in the face of opposition and not compromising God's standards. They also touch on the topics of abortion, homosexuality, and the influence of the media and celebrities. The speaker concludes by discussing the sixth vision of Zachariah, the flying scroll. morning I was thinking about that line there it says help me rescue someone sinking now with no hope I thought this world there's people out there sinking right now and I want to be diligent thought of a lifeguard out there maybe at the ocean brother Austin and someone else just drowning and lifeguard not paying attention maybe on their phone or looking to the right to the left not paying attention but there's people out there sinking right now and I want to be diligent let's get right into Zachariah once again the second part we we still I'm going to move on Lord willing after today but we still probably won't do it justice or get all the way through it there's just so much there and there's things in there that I feel like really would require its own Sunday or month of Sunday but we will get started we left off last Sunday and see Zachariah was less than six yeah Zachariah's message of victory we'll just kind of call this part two and we'll get turned it turned to Zachariah there maybe chapter we'll get to that here in a minute but we left off last Sunday Zachariah was seeing his fifth vision the vision of a golden lampstand or candlestick and Zachariah has a total of eight visions from the angel of the Lord remember that Zachariah was a post-exilic prophet and a contemporary of Haggai God placed both of these men at a time where the Israelites are establishing their lives back at Jerusalem God remember had stirred the Persian King Cyrus's heart to send his children back home and to rebuild the temple they built the foundation of the temple in about two years and then just kind of got discouraged in the work the discouragement mainly came by opposition from other inhabitants in the land and even the government got involved they sent letters to the government they put the building of the temple on hold for about 14 years and then Haggai and Zachariah spoke words of encouragement from the Lord and the children of God and they started building again and that's where we're at here this morning opposition from this world will come even to us today and it should not stop us nor should we bow to it shouldn't slow us down we shouldn't give in to it we shouldn't listen to what they say remember the children of God wouldn't let these polytheists serve alongside them in the building of the church but then they stopped the work when those same people came against him I thought both is wrong stopping or allowing them to be part of the work or listening to what they had to say in establishment of the church or just stopping all together both of those things are wrong with a didn't let them be a part of it but then they stopped when the discouragement came if they went on but let these people in their beliefs be a part of building the temple they wouldn't have gained any ground it would have only rented the work of God useless they may have brought more money more skilled labor but it would have still been wrong I thought there are other denominations letting people join the church that is contrary to the Word of God and that is wrong it may feel like they're progressing to them by dropping God's standards and fill the pews but they're in fact regressing if this church stays the same size 20 years from now but it will be better than if we had built 20,000 square foot building out there to accommodate all the new converts if we had lowered God's standards to get them in we are only saying the beginning of opposition to the church but let's not get discouraged not stopping not wavering I thought homosexuality and abortion supporters will always be on the rise because it's what children in America are being taught the media even cartoons social media news networks and even the school system is putting these beliefs in our children today people say that the Republican Party is not up against Kamala Harris not trying to be too political but they're up against a machine I've heard people talk about the machine not really Kamala Harris and Kamala Harris's campaign was donated 81 million dollars in 24 hours for her candidacy announcement we'd heard about that and like I said I'm not trying to get too political but there is a machine that wants nothing more than issues like marriage equality trans rights and abortion to thrive in America and even infiltrate the church and it is the devil he has his own husbandry we're the husbandry of God but the devil has his own husbandry the media most news networks social media the public school system celebrities and some of the richest people in the country are all at work for the devil and I thought I won't name these individuals not here to promote anybody but some of them have their own issues but journalists that are the most effective at fighting against this machine have been kind of segregated to podcast they've been kicked off these news networks and stuff like that and they're trying to silence them and put them over in this corner and podcasting we know is just saturated so they're trying to hide that but but even Donald Trump will say yes I'm against abortion but you have to get elected I've heard those words out of his mouth you know yeah I'm for I'm against abortion but you still have to get elected whether it be on a government level or state level I thought I doubt abortion will ever be overturned completely until Jesus comes back I read a quote and I want to share this with you I read a quote from Dr. Peter Kreeft and y'all might have heard this he's a Catholic and a professor at Boston College last week and it really touched me I wanted to share it with you it said abortion is the Antichrist demonic parody of the Eucharist the Eucharist being the Last Supper abortion is the Antichrist demonic parody of the Eucharist that's why it uses the same holy words this is my body with the blasphemous opposite meaning think about that you see the devil's desire is to kill Jesus for good that's what he would like to do but he can't brother Quentin Jesus defeated the death in the grave but he came to this earth in the form of a baby he could have came anyway he could have came as a 33 year old man but he came in the form of a baby through the miraculous virgin birth of Mary from the beginning Satan tried to kill him through the hands of Herod Matthew 2 and 16 says then Herod when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men was exceeding wrath and sent forth and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem and in all the coast thereof from two years old and older or under according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men Jesus was already in Egypt we remember the story always outsmarting Satan having the upper hand even in the form of a baby Satan can't stand this but there's nothing he can do about it so he tries to get to the heart of God by killing his children Psalm 127 and 3 says low children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward Luke 18 and 15 says and they brought unto him also infants that he would touch them but when his disciples saw it they rebuked him but Jesus called them unto him and said suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for as such is the kingdom of God verily I say unto you whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall know wise enter therein so Satan desires to hurt the heart of God through the killing of his innocent children Peter Kreeft makes a point that the rallying cry for an abortion this is this is my body that's a mockery of what Jesus told his disciples at the Eucharist Matthew 26 and 26 and as they were eating Jesus took bread and blessed it and break and it gave it to the disciples and said take eat this is my body an abortionist cries this is my body my choice I choose that this child dies so I can live my life but Jesus says I will lay down my life so that you can live so as the church we have to stand against such demonic forces even when the world comes against us and stand with love and long suffering not hatred I thought that's that's the key with love someone out of misled compassion I thought drove a young lady to an abortion clinic it happens every day somebody you know they think they love somebody and they're taking them to an abortion clinic that looks like love to them it probably feels like love that someone supports them enough to do that we have to show them true love by leading them to the house of God hatred won't work even in homosexuality you know I get it it's it's about God even said you know in Roman 126 for this cause God gave them up to vile affections we don't understand it we don't like it we don't know what to do with it but we don't got but even in those cases we will never win those by showing hatred and disgust for the actual center it could be your loved one that faces that homosexuality someday it could be your loved one we are God's husbandry go out in your garden today and see how many tomato plants you're going to produce by taking a sword and a bad attitude just hacking away at it it won't work you won't produce anything but I just wanted to share that share that with you but we're in the sixth vision this morning of Zachariah we'll discuss these six real quickly and move on Zachariah five and one is where we're at and this is the vision of the flying scroll we won't get all the way to the end but let's just start here I have a habit of rambling talking I'll talk 30 minutes how we're not going anywhere Zachariah five and one then I turned and lifted up my eyes and looked and behold a flying row and he said unto me what seest thou and I answered I see a flying row the length thereof is 20 cubits and the breadth thereof 10 cubits I thought Zachariah here he's not at Lambert's the house of the flying rows he's having a vision of a flying row but it's a scroll like a like a road up piece of parchment letter the scroll was open and Zachariah could see that it was roughly 15 foot by 30 foot long verse 3 says then said he unto me this is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth for everyone that still is shall be cut off is on this side according to it and everyone that swears shall be cut off is on that side according to it I will bring it forth sayeth the Lord of hosts and it shall enter into the house of the thief and into the house of him that swears falsely by my name and it shall remain in the midst of his house and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof this scroll proclaims a condemnation and a judgment of sin sister Hannah I'm thankful for the blessings and the promises of God but just as important as that we need to read and be aware of his wrath and his judgment that's in his word attended a church that only proclaim proclaims the blessings of God will always produce large numbers but there's a judgment coming and it's in this book and we need to teach about those as well Romans 14 11 says for it is written as I live saith the Lord every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall confess to God so then every one of us shall give account of himself to God we're not told if this was the Ten Commandments exactly but it was obviously a judgment of sin and it very well could have been notice the angel of the Lord asked what seeest thou Zachariah had to look at this flying scroll and from there the angel instructed him further like Zachariah we have to get our eyes on the Word of God read it for ourselves and then God will help us understand his word we will be judged by the words of this book whether we choose to read it or not it's there not knowing what is in here will not be an excuse on the day of judgment we often slight the Old Testament is being solely for the Jewish people but the angel of the Lord says in verse 3 this is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth there's a covenant between God and Israelites but there's a judgment that we all face the commandments of God are still in place today some try to excuse it as legalism but if it's in here if it comes from the Word of God it can't simply be dismissed as legalism your argument will not hold up to God on the day of judgment it's not man's law if it's right here the seventh vision moving on a vision of a woman in a basket verse 5 says then the angel that took talked with me went forth and said unto me lift up now thine eyes and see what it is this that goes forth and I said what is it and he said this is an ephah that goes forth he said moreover this is their resemblance to all the earth an ephah is a dry measurement of grain that is a little over a bushel as far as measurement and this is represented the sin this represented seeing verse 7 says and behold there was lifted up a talent of lead and this is a woman that said it in the midst of the ephah so the cover the basket is raised and there's a woman inside and verse 8 says and he said this is wickedness and he cast it into the midst of the ephah and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof the angel cast this resemblance of sin and wickedness back into the basket and puts the lid back on verse 9 says then lifted up then lifted I up mine eyes and look and behold there came out two women and the wind was in their wings for they had wings like the wings of a stork and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven so now two women have showed up with wings like a bird and they carry the basket away and verse 10 says then said out to the angel that talked with me whether do these bear the ephah and he said unto me to build it a house in the land of Shinar and it shall be established and set there upon her base Shinar is a place in Babylon so it's going back to Babylon sin is being driven out of Jerusalem and carried back to Babylon Babylon is known as the seat of wickedness throughout history which brings us to the final vision this morning vision 8 the vision of four chariots verse 6 and 1 says and I turned and lifted up my eyes and looked and behold there came four chariots out from between two mountains and the mountains were mountains of brass in the first year it were red horses and in the second year it black horses and in the third year it white horses and in the fourth year it grizzled and they horses so two brass mountains with four chariots come out of them all having a set of different colored horses pulling them red black white and it like an ashy ashy red mix color the mountains made of brass represent strength so must most assume they are the Mount of Olives and Mount Zion that we read about so often in the Bible verse 4 says then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me what are these my lord and the angel answered and said unto me these are the four spirits of the heavens which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth the black horses which are therein go forth into the north country and the white goes forth after them and the grizzled go forth toward the south country and the bay went forth and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth and he said get you hints walk to and fro through the earth so they walk to and fro through the earth then cried he upon me and spake unto me saying behold these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country and to expound on this much would just be speculatory on my part to be honest I did study it and study as much as I could and studied men that studied it and it's a lot of speculation and a lot of people think these are the same as Daniel's four world empires some think it's the four horsemen and revelations even in our homeless heritage they smartly use the words like seem to or probably and I would just like to say that it's OK to not know some things if you're if you're actually studying it out it's OK to say I'm not sure about this and leave it to God and pray about it and study it God will reveal it to you what you need to know if you're seeking him a study in his word Isaiah twenty six announces with my soul have I desired the in the night yay with my spirit within me well I think the early for when I judgments are in the earth the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness with all these visions notice that Zacharias said what am I looking at what is this he had a desire to know what he could about the Lord I thought he could have rolled over and went back to sleep after the first vision didn't make a lot of sense you know but he wanted to know what he could and he became a great encouragement to God's people let's keep a desire to learn about the Lord and about God's word the homeless heritage speaking on this vision states these chariots seem to refer to God leading in the destruction of the Israel's enemies to the north and south probably Babylon and Egypt and that's where they leave it I would like to point out that Zacharias six and eight says then cried he upon and spaken to me saying behold these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country this is God speaking most agree that this points to the judgment coming upon Babylon because of where it's placed in accordance to Jerusalem I thought God's spirit will not quiet until the enemy of his children are judged we can take comfort in knowing that God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble he is that great high priest that is touched is touched with the feelings of our infirmities and that concludes the eight visions of Zacharias chapter seven tells again and we're going to go through this really quickly chapter seven tells again why Israel was scattered turn to seven verse four seven verse four says then came the word of the Lord of hosts unto me saying speak unto all the people of the land and to the priest saying when you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month even though 70 years did you eat did you at all fast enemy even to me and when you did eat and when you did drink did not you eat for yourselves and drink for yourselves the word mourned here means to wail or lament and I thought I'm not the only one guilty of this but sometimes we're pretty hard on the Israelites but this reminds me of people that are like spoiled you know like a spoiled brat you've seen them they go for you know living for themselves and doing whatever they want to do and when things don't go their way they go on a hunger strike and you know they start having a pity party and we see that often in the Israelites and sometimes we can be guilty of that first Samuel 15 and 22 says and Samuel said hath the Lord is great delight and burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord behold to obey is better than sacrifice and to harken than the fat of rams fasting is ordained by God and it's a great tool to get self out of the way brother Ronnie and to get closer to God but you can also do it for the wrong reasons we've seen the Pharisees in the New Testament being accused of doing it for the wrong reasons and it won't profit anything we can fast for 40 50 60 days and we're not going to get see anything done I've made up to fast myself before and I like to tell myself and but in the back of my mind sometimes I'll be like you know if I fast for a week I'll start out strong I'll be like I'm fast for Lord and I'll be like fast for a week I probably lose 20 pounds and then I'll start thinking about that more than anything about you know so yeah you know the devil can get anything in self just self alone can get in the middle of anything and and it will try to we are not to live for sales anything we do should be to do it under God 1st Corinthians 6 and 20 for you are bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's I thought brother Beavers one time testified and y'all probably probably remember I think it was a boy that was sick and he decided I'm going to fast and try to get out of God and he fasted for quite some time and I don't the boy never got any better y'all remember this story I think it was okay I think it was a boy I want to say that he died I don't want to say that he died but I believe that's the way the story goes but brother Beavers was really disheartened by that you know he really gave gave it everything and he felt God speak to him and say I'm not looking for someone great value effort I'm looking for consistency and I thought that made a whole lot of sense you know sometimes we just think we're just gonna do something great for God and just one give one big great effort and then God's going to come down and do everything that we ask and he's looking more for obedience and consistency than he is more for something like that I believe chapter 8 the Lord moving on chapter 8 the Lord tells Zachariah how Jerusalem will be inhabited once again and how he will bless them I love verses four and five you want your turn eight four and five bless you it says thus saith the Lord of hosts there shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem and every man with his staff in his hand for very very age and the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof the God of the Old Testament often gets a bad rap people point to the laws and the punishments of those laws and the wars and how bloody the Old Testament is and paints God is a mean God but the God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament and he loves his children he loves Israel he loves us and I thought what paints a better picture here than this is the streets of the city full of boys and girls playing there's nothing more serene than the thought think of children be able to play in the city streets and just last night I seen a headline read the story but look like Israel had been attacked by some missile and eleven kids up out playing get killed and talking about Jerusalem right here and he's talking about us the city streets full of boys and girls playing and that's God's heart I'd love for that to be able to happen in Israel today for the boys and the girls to go out in the streets and play freely without the bombs overhead and I'm praying for that the he is that God is a just God but he is also a loving God and he loves his children first John 3 and 1 says behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God moving on to chapter 9 chapter 9 has a wonderful prophecy of the coming Messiah we start seeing prophecies of the Messiah here in the Old Testament Zachariah and keep in mind this was 500 years brother Ronnie before Jesus was even born remember the Zacharias considered a minor prophet he does cover more than even the book of Daniel who is considered a major prophet and we do love the book of Daniel Zachariah is also quoted at least at least 40 times in the New Testament let's look at Zechariah 9 and 9 my heart is go verse by verse we just don't have time to do that Zechariah 9 and 9 says rejoice greatly Oh daughter of Zion shout Oh daughter of Jerusalem behold that King cometh unto thee he is just and having salvation lowly and riding upon an ass and upon a coat the full of an ass keep in mind that Zion is a heel in Jerusalem I know that might sound kind of and sometimes interchangeably as Jerusalem that might seem kind of elementary to some of you but when you hear the word Zion a lot often it's it's Jerusalem or a heel in Jerusalem but here we see an amazing prophecy of Jesus that has already came to pass does anybody know what this is referring to what what we call it now we this is this is what we would call Palm Sunday brother Tim talked about this not too long ago Jesus is triumphal entry into Jerusalem if you turn to John 9 or I'm sorry John 12 John 12 and 12 we'll see this prophecy here so this would be roughly 500 530 years after Zechariah here John 12 and 12 talking about that first Palm Sunday on the next day much people that were come to the feast when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him and cried hosanna blessed is the king of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord and Jesus when he had found a young ass set there on as it is written fear not daughter of Zion Zion behold thy king cometh sitting on an ass's coat why did the crowd cry hosanna what it hosanna mean save us that's what they was crying and most of you remember the story on Palm Sunday the problem is they thought of Christ is more of a political savior they wanted freedom from the oppression of the Romans Rome had total control over Jerusalem at this time and they looked to a king to come in and save them out of the hand of the Romans Luke 19 and 41 says I'll wait for you to turn this is right after what we just read another gospel gospel Luke 19 and 41 says and when he was come near he beheld the city and wept over it saying if thou had known even thou at least in in this that day the things which belong unto thy peace but now they are hid from the eyes for the day shall come upon thee that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee and can pass thee round and keep thee on every side and shall lay thee even with the ground and thy children within thee and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation Jesus knew that the destruction that was coming for Jerusalem in less than a week Jesus would be crucified but he wasn't weeping for his own death here he cried for his people in Jerusalem they knew not the time of the visitation Jesus wanted to do much more than save them from the hands of Rome he cared for the current situation of course but he wasn't just on a mission to save Jews from Rome but to save all men from hell many were displeased by Jesus's entry weeping on a donkey they wanted a strong leader coming in on a war horse but if they knew the Bible is the claim in these Pharisees claim that they knew the Bible very well they would have known the Messiah would be lowly and riding upon an ass as it Zachariah prophesied 500 years ago we just read it rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion shout O daughter of Jerusalem behold thy king cometh unto thee he is just and having salvation lowly and riding upon an ass and upon a coat the foal of an ass if they knew the word like they said they did brother Austin they would have seen this Jesus coming down on a donkey but well here it is this is what Zachariah was talking about but they knew not what they was looking at they knew not the time of their visitation we can't make the mistake that Israel made here let's know the signs as Paul writes in Timothy for second Timothy four and eight hence forth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge shall give me at this day and not to me only but unto all of them also that love his appearing I wanted to ask you this morning will you be caught off guard when Jesus comes back again or will you be educated and enlightened by the Word of God God's Word knowing what to look for Jesus speaking on the end times he told his disciples in Matthew 24 and 24 he says for there shall arise false Christ and false prophets and shall shoot great signs and wonders in so much that if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect this is why Sunday school is so important and but not only that a daily private devotion between you and God throughout your work or throughout your week I don't want to be fooled you don't want to be fooled we want to know Christ when he comes back it is said that there are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament concerning the first coming of Jesus Christ the Pharisees like I said who prided themselves in their knowledge and their strict living according to God did not even recognize the Messiah when they saw him and Jesus fulfilled every one of those 300 and so on prophecies every one of them didn't miss one and you can rest assured that he will fulfill every prophecy concerning his second coming and there are roughly it's told there are roughly three times more about his second coming than his first we will have zero excuses for not knowing and you know that that's a frightening thought for me as a Sunday school teacher but it also thrills me to know that God loves us enough to preserve this word to let us know what to look for he doesn't want to be caught that's not his will I thought how scary would it be for me to stand up here empty-handed and have to guess that you know we should probably look for what do you think what do you think we should look for we don't have to do that thank God we don't have to God is not a God of pop quizzes I hated pop quizzes when I was a kid I liked a really good notice before a test come around he wants us to be prepared let's turn to Zechariah 11 skip a little forward here Zechariah 11 and 10 Zechariah not only prophesies Jesus coming but the price that would be paid for his betrayal we read here Zechariah 11 and 10 says and I took my staff even beauty and cut it asunder that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people and it was broken in that day and so the poor the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord and I said unto them if you think good give me my price and if not forbear so they weighed for my price 30 pieces of silver we read here that God's covenant with Israel was broken when he was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver I turn with me to Matthew in 26 and 14 there's a little bit of time this morning to prove these the fulfillment Matthew 26 and 14 Matthew 26 and 14 says then one of the 12 called Judas Iscariot went unto the chief priest and said unto them what will you give me and I will deliver him unto you and they covenanted with him for 30 pieces of silver our Savior was betrayed by one of his disciples Judas Iscariot for 30 pieces of silver it's prophesied in Zechariah the greatest that heaven and earth will ever know so for a price of a slave Exodus 21 and 32 says if the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant he shall give unto their master 30 shekels of silver and the ox shall be stoned. Let's read on to Zechariah 11 and 13. Zechariah 11 and 13 if you have your places and the Lord said unto me cast it unto the potter a goodly price that I that I was prized out of them and I took the 30 pieces of silver and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord. Let's start turning to Matthew 27 and 1. It almost sounds like sarcasm to me when he says Zechariah says here cast it unto the potter a goodly price that I was prized out of them 30 pieces of silver. Matthew 27 to 1 when the morning was come all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death and when they had bound him they led him away and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. Then Judas which had betrayed him when he saw that he was condemned repented himself and brought again the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders saying I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood and they said what what is that to us? See thou to it and he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed and went and hanged himself. Judas realizes what he's done and now he's extremely remorseful. I don't think anybody doubts that he was extremely remorseful. He had betrayed his friend. Judas had a love for money if you read read the Bible read the Gospels you'll see early on that Judas had a love had a love for money but I don't think it would have mattered how much money he got at this point with those 30 60 a thousand pieces of silver at this point the amount didn't matter he was he'd realized what he had done and it was over the deal was made. The prophecy fulfilled and now it was Judas's problem. James 1 and 12 says blessed is the man that endure temptation for when he has tried he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted I am tempted of God for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempted he any man but every man is tempted and when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed then when lust has conceived it bringeth forth sin and sin when it is finished bringeth forth death. I don't think there's any other story in the Bible that we can read that portrays this more closely. When sin is finished it bringeth forth death he hung himself. That money seemed so important until the betrayal was fulfilled and then he felt just empty inside. Judas cast the money down at their feet and goes and hangs himself. You see remorse is different than repentance. Remorse is not repentance. It can lead to it can lead to repentance and hopefully it does. I believe that is why we see so many depressed individuals today and I'm not a doctor or psychiatrist but this world is full of people that has betrayed God. Their true purpose. They run around with souls that they're not feeding and they've betrayed the one true God. They no longer enjoy their lives so they walk around dead. They turn to alcohol and drugs and even prescription drugs to cope with this remorsefulness that consumes them on the inside. This guilt that they don't know what to do with because they're not going to the house of God. They're not praying to God when all they have to do is turn that remorse into repentance. But they choose to not do that. First John two and one says my little children these things right onto you that you sin not and if any man sin we have an advocate with the Father Jesus Christ the righteous and he is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. I thought if there's anyone here today that is feeling remorse for something that they've done come and turn that remorse into repentance. You have an advocate with the Father this morning that is full of forgiveness ready to forgive. Matthew twenty seven and six reads on and the chief priest took the silver pieces and said it is not lawful for to put them into the treasury because it is the price of blood money. They took counsel and bought them with the potter's field to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called the field of blood unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet saying and they took the thirty pieces of silver the price of him that was valued whom they the children of Israel did value and gave them for the potter's field as the Lord appointed me. Thus fulfilling Zechariah eleven thirteen and the Lord said unto me cast it unto the potter a goodly price that I was prized out of them and I took the thirty pieces of silver and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord. So we read a fulfilled prophecy of Christ's first coming. Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey. We also read a fulfilled prophecy of Christ's betrayal. Now let's turn to Zechariah twelve and ten. Zechariah twelve and ten reads and I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and of supplications and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son and shall be in the bitterness for him as one that is in bitterness for his first born. All the prophecies we read so far so far have been fulfilled. Right Brother Quentin? I mean they've already their past for us their future for Zechariah but they're in the past for us. We've seen them fulfilled. Now we see a day of Messiah's second coming. This prophecy is still in the future for us. We're still waiting for that second coming. We know that it too will be fulfilled because God has fulfilled everything else. If God said it you can believe it. This is a day when the Jewish people will know what they have done. They have crucified the Savior and that will cause a great mourning but God will pour out a spirit of grace and of supplication on his people. They will look upon the one that they have pierced is what the Bible says. Pierced how? He was pierced on his head Matthew 27 29 and when they had planted a crown of thorns they put it upon his head. He was pierced in the head. He was pierced in the hands and in the feet. John 20 and 25 the other disciples therefore said unto him we have seen the Lord but he said unto them except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and thrust my hand into his side. I will not believe. So they pierced his side. 19 and 34 but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side and forthwith came there out of blood and water. Jesus will not only cause mourning upon the Jewish Jewish people but he will save them. Romans 11 and 25 says for I would not brethren that you should be ignorant of this mystery lest you should be wise in your own conceit that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles become in. And so all Israel shall be saved as it is written there shall come out of Zion the deliverer and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob for this is my covenant unto them when I shall take away their sins. I've got a note here to read on or not. Time will not allow it but Zachariah even prophesied the battle of Armageddon that as we know it the rapture as we know it and the hundred-year reign of Christ on earth known as the Millennium. It would do you good to read Zachariah mainly the 12 to 13 14 chapter but that kind of deserves its own. I feel like if I just squeeze it in the next five minutes it would cause more confusion than anything but maybe we'll get into that before long. Matthew 24 and 36 is Jesus. Jesus says but of that day and hour knoweth no man no not the angels of heaven but my father only. Only God knows when all of this will take place but I want to be ready we've got to be ready. We've got a couple more minutes but I think the next three the ones that we've missed is an Esther Camden. I'm not just saying it because he's my son but he did a really good job preaching on Esther not too long ago so he might have just dug me out of that hole so if you want to hear about Esther go look that up on the on the link but I think we'll move along past Esther. I think it will be in Ezra again Lord willing. I haven't looked at it real close yet but let's be ready for Christ's return. I had some more to say. Oh just real shortly Zachariah we learn in Matthew 23 and 35. I just kind of put a cap on Zachariah that he was killed. Matthew 23 and 35 says that upon you may come all the righteous all your righteous blood should shed upon the earth from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Bacchus whom you slew between the temple and the altar. So that was the end of Zachariah killed in the temple. It seems kind of odd to me that he was killed. He was very encouraging. Don't know really what happened between that time. Maybe they just didn't like the prophecy of the Messiah you know of what was going to happen. I don't know we don't know that would be speculation but that was his end. We learned that in the New Testament. But let's close out today Hebrews 9 and 27 says and as it is appointed unto man once to die but after this the judgment so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
