The speaker starts by thanking everyone for attending the Good Friday service and mentions various church groups present. They read from the Bible about the resurrection of Christ and the concept of revival. They emphasize that revival is not about external factors, but about finding life in one's faith. They share a personal story of their cousin passing from death to life and express gratitude for the opportunity for revival. They lead the audience in a prayer for revival and encourage them to continue working on their faith and serving the Lord. The speaker ends with a song about building a spiritual foundation and being on the battlefield for the Lord. And you say amen to what? A lovely name, the name of Jesus. Isn't that why we're here? Why there's even the opportunity? I mean, it's Friday night, but this is the night that we commemorate, the day that our Lord gave His life for us and gave us all a reason to be here tonight. I want to say thank you to everyone who's come tonight. There's folks from Hodginville Pentecostal, Elam Holiness, Highway of Holiness, Full Gospel Assembly, folks from Owensboro. Thank you so much for being here. I really do appreciate it. We do want to get started here tonight. Come on, Brother Camden, get us started here. Praise God. I'm thankful to be in the house of the Lord tonight. How about you all? Praise God. He is so, so good. And I'm thankful for the Lord. I'm also thankful for what the Lord did for me. And I'm so very honored to be able to speak on Good Friday. Thank the Lord for what He did. I love the Lord. And I want to read here out of the Lord's Word in 1 Corinthians chapter number 15. And we're in revival right now. And the question may come to mind for people who really do not know what is revival. And revival is recovery from death to life. And 1 Corinthians chapter 15 starting in verse 16 says, For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised. And if Christ be not raised, your faith is in vain. You are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruit of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. I thank the Lord that He planned a great revival in His crucifixion and in His resurrection. God has prepared revival for us. And there's a need for revival because way back then, Adam sinned. And death came upon all mankind because of Adam's sin. But thank the Lord that although in one man everybody became sinners, but by one man everybody can be saved. And I thank God for that. And let me tell you, revival is not determined by the flyer that we send out. Revival is not identified by going to church more often in the weekdays. Revival isn't defined by having a certain preacher come and minister to us. Revival is defined and determined by whether it has life in it or not. And we must have life if we expect to have revival. Revival is life. And I'm thankful for revival. And let me tell you, we have been having revival. Last night we had revival. Praise the Lord. We experienced true revival last night because my little cousin, my 11-year-old cousin passed from death unto life. And I'm thankful that we can have revival again by God's grace. We can be revived just like she passed from death unto life. We can pass from death unto life. God can revive us again tonight. And I'm thankful for the Lord. And I'm praying for revival again. Please stand with me and let us pray for revival. We are in revival. We are in revival. Bow your heads and pray like we're in revival, just like we're going to have revival again tonight. Praise the Lord. Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, I pray for a great manifestation of the Spirit, Lord, in this revival. God, I pray for true revival, revival to be found with God in this place. Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, I pray that you'll meet us here tonight just like you did last night. Lord, I believe you are still a healer. Lord, I believe you're still baptized in the Holy Ghost. God, I believe you're still saved from sin. And God, I give you glory, and I give you thanks, and I expect you to do it again. Praise God. Hallelujah. Well, can you shout amen in the house tonight? Hallelujah! I'm thankful to be in revival. I'm thankful I started on this race and I intend to finish it. If you start on this way to finish it, can you raise your hands for a moment and say, I'm going to run this race, and I'm going to win it. Hallelujah. I'm glad I'm on the winning side. Hallelujah. I'm thankful that on this day, my Jesus went to Calvary, and He paid a price that I should have paid. Hallelujah. And He got back up. I'm thankful He got back up. I said He got back up. Hallelujah. I'm working on a building. Working on a building. Working on a building for my Lord. For my Lord. Oh, if I was a sinner, I'd tell you what you need to do. Quit all that sinning. Work on a building too. I'm working on a building. Working on a building. Working on a building for my Lord. It's a Holy Ghost building. Holy Ghost building. It's a Holy Ghost building for my Lord. For my Lord. It's a Holy Ghost building. It's a Holy Ghost building. Holy Ghost building for my Lord. For my Lord. Oh, I was alone in idol. I was a sinner too. I heard a voice from heaven saying there is work to do. I took my master's hand. I chose a heavenly man. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, I promised him that I I'll serve you till I die. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I'm on. Are you on it tonight? Hallelujah. Oh, I promised him that I I'll serve you till I die. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, I lost my flag in battle. But my staff is in my hand. I'm taking it to Jesus over in the glory land. In this land I cried. Crying sinner come to God. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I am. I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, I promised him that I I'll serve you till I die. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. I like this here. Well, now I'm fighting for my Savior. The battle is most won. The trumpet will be sounding at the coming of the sun. I lay my armor down. Take up my roving crown. And I walk those golden streets with my Lord. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, I promised him that I I'll serve you till I die. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, I promised him that I I'll serve you till I die. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, now I'm fighting for my Savior. The battle is already won. The trumpet will be sounding at the coming of the sun. I lay my armor down. Take up my roving crown. I walk those golden streets with my Lord. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Yes, I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, I promised him that I I'll serve you till I die. Now I'm on the battlefield for my Lord. Oh, I'm working on a building. Working on a building. Working on a building for my Lord. For my Lord. It's a Holy Ghost building. Holy Ghost building. Raise your hands across the house. Hallelujah. I'm working on a building. Oh, it's a Holy Ghost building. Holy Ghost building. Holy Ghost building for my Lord. For my Lord. Yeah, if I was a worshipper. Tell you what you need to do. You keep right on preaching. Work on a building too. If I was a jumper. I tell you what you need to do. You keep right on jumping. Work on a building too. If I was a sinner. Tell you what you need to do. Quit all that sinning. Work on a building too. I'm working on a building. Working on a building. Working on a building for my Lord. For my Lord. It's a Holy Ghost building. Holy Ghost building. Holy Ghost building for my Lord. For my Lord. One more time. Let's give God some praise in the house. Hallelujah. Glory to God. Oh, go ahead. Take a moment. Go ahead. Take a moment. Praise Him in the house. Hallelujah. The Bible says that the redeemed. The Lord say so. Are you redeemed? I'm asking you. Are you redeemed? Have you been saved? Have you been bought by precious blood? Are you set free? Are you healed? Are you saved? Are you delivered from the past? Hallelujah. You ought to raise your hands. And give God some praise in the house. Hallelujah. The Bible said. Let everything that hath breath. What? Praise ye the Lord. Have you got some breath in your lungs? Can you praise Him? Just one other moment. And lift up your hands. And shout unto God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus. Praise God. If you're going to build you a house. Go ahead and decide where the bedrooms are going. Go ahead and figure out how big the dining room is going to be. You lay it out just like you like to. But when we're working on this kingdom of God, the foundation has already been laid. The blueprint has already been provided. All we've got to do is follow it. Praise God. I'm glad tonight that God has given us the opportunity to work on His building. You all can be seated tonight. Praise God. I'm so glad to see everyone that is here. Brother Richard Binkley, pastor's there in Hodgenville at Full Gospel Assembly. Would you come on up and address? Just use whatever breath you've got left, brother. Come on. Obey the Lord. It's a joy to be with you tonight. Good to see Pastor Webb slip in here tonight. Good for him, Brother Doug Webb over here. Appreciate your pastor. Appreciate his family. He's a good spirit. I appreciate the Spirit of the Lord I feel in the house tonight. I'm thankful for God's faithfulness. And God's still on His throne, isn't He? He really is. And I'm looking forward to the preaching. And so I told the preacher tonight when I came in and shook his hand, he said, well, you know, sometimes it may not get to the preaching. And I understand that, but I was excited to hear about the young man that prayed and found Christ last night. And I've been thinking today of that verse in John 3 and verse 17, for God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Brother Ethan and I just got back from Panama. I say we just got back. It's been longer than what I'm thinking, but I've kind of been under the weather. And so if I start sucking air, you just... I'm not as young as that young fellow jumping around up here while I go. I was wishing I had some of that energy. And I wish I had some of that air. But we came out of heat like 102 and 103 degrees. And my wife's telling me on the phone, it's 18 degrees up here. And then we'd wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning shivering and shaking because the temperatures had dropped. On the last night of youth camp, I'll just share this and get out of the way. On the last night of youth camp, I noticed a lady that had been there all week during camp. And there was just a hardness on her face. And you could tell that she had been through a rough place in life. You know what I'm saying? Have you ever seen anybody that's had a rough life? It was all over. And every night, the Spirit of the Lord just came by and moved in every service. And she just sat there and just wouldn't make a move. And so I got to praying for her throughout the week. And on that last night, sometime during the altar service, at the beginning of the altar service, I looked over. And I began to see the Spirit of the Lord upon her. And I'd seen that hardness begin to melt. And I didn't even pay attention. Brother Lisandro, our mission director there in Panama, he said, oh, brother, did you get to see... what was her name? Norsandra? Norsandro? Whatever her name was, God knows what it is. Her last name was Lopez. So anyway, and I said, no. He said, she prayed, got saved, and received the Holy Ghost tonight. And I'm thinking, Lord, thank You. And he started telling me about it. And he started shouting, you know, got his arms going, that leg got going. He said, I said, I've seen the Holy Ghost on her. I've seen the Spirit of God. And here we are down in the jungles of Panama, out under the stars, rained two nights in a row on the service. It didn't hinder the Spirit of God. They just soaked it up. And my shirt soaked it up. And we just drenched in the rain. But I'm telling you what, the Holy Ghost came by. And when I got to looking at my photos, I found out that somebody had got a little clip of her praying and shouting. And she told Brother Lizondo, said, if I knew it was going to be this good, I would have got in a lot sooner. Amen. Aren't you glad that God can visit somebody that's thousands of miles from here? Amen. Doesn't have much education. Doesn't have much hope as far as material things in life. But God loved that soul. I'm glad He gave His life on an old rugged cross that we could get saved. Amen. Praise God for the work that's going forth. Isn't that what we're doing here? Isn't that what every church is represented here? We're not just a bunch of people with like minds getting together and comforting one another, patting each other on the back, telling each other, what a great job you're doing, how wonderful, you look good, you sound good, you're not going to the wrong place. It's good for us. We're out there to reach the lost souls in this world. We're not a shortage. We don't have to look real far. Praise God, I'm glad that the work... Brother, thank you so much. You're doing work that some of us aren't being able to get out there. We've not got the call to get out there and do that. But praise God for the work. Praise the Lord. Brother Adam Barrero. I think I said it right. Come on up here, brother, and address us from Owensboro. Thank you, brother. Thank you, brother. Praise God. It's good to be in the house of the Lord. Amen. Good to feel the Spirit of the Lord here. Amen. Praise God. I appreciate it, brother Sargent. Amen. I appreciate this church. Praise God. You know, we're here, amen, to worship God. We're here, amen, to give honor unto the Lord. Amen. And I got thinking, brother Sargent said it at the beginning of church, amen, that this is Good Friday. Amen. This is the night, amen, the day that Christ laid down His life that each and every one of us might receive salvation, might be saved. Amen. And I got thinking a little bit the other night, amen, where Jesus said, if I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me. Amen. Aren't you glad, amen, that He was lifted up, amen, upon the cross? Amen. And now He can draw all men unto Him. Amen. And Isaiah, as he went, amen, in the year that King Uzziah died, amen, the Bible says, I saw the Lord high and lifted up, sitting upon His throne. Amen. Don't you think that's how He is tonight? Amen. He's high and lifted up. Amen. And I want to lift Him up, amen, as high as I can. Amen. Because that's how people are drawn unto Him. Amen. Praise the Lord. I love the Lord this evening, amen, and I want to lift Him up higher, amen, and higher, amen, that souls will be drawn unto Him. Amen. I want them not to see me, Brother Binkley, but I want them to see Him. Amen. Praise God. That's why we're in this thing. Amen. That's why we preach the Gospel. That's why we witness. That's why we knock on doors. Amen. Not so people know who we are, but that people know who He is. Amen. Praise God. And that's what I want to do. I want to become less that He becomes more. Amen. And souls see Him and seek Him. Amen. I appreciate being here. I appreciate the Spirit of the Lord I feel in this place. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Thank you, Brother. Come on, Sister Andrea. Get ready to sing here. Today, as we commemorate the day that our Lord died, and I think back that the followers of Christ at this point of the day in their day, they were just... nothing made sense anymore. They were sad. They didn't know what to do. I mean, the women had gotten spices together because they were just going to go ahead and anoint the body when it come time, when they were permitted to again. So they're just perplexed. The Bible even uses that word. They were perplexed. They didn't know what to do. But us, we know the rest of the story. We don't come in down and sad and wondering what's going to happen. We're not waiting for Sunday so that we can kind of mull around and talk about what we're going to do now. We celebrate the risen Savior. We know the whole story. Praise God. Worship with us tonight. Nobody but Jesus can do it for me. Who can cleanse a leper? Nobody! Who can walk on water? Nobody! Who can make the blind to see Who can raise a man's dead daughter? Who can heal the sick? Nobody! Who can raise the dead? Nobody! Who can feed 5,000 with my teaching to loads of bread? I said nobody! And I'm telling you tonight, whatever your need is, there's one who walks on water. Hallelujah! If that's what you need, that's quite unusual! I mean, why? But if you needed it, He's proven He'll do it! Praise God! I'm glad tonight to be in this house with the Spirit of the Lord moving. Brother David Webb, he's my friend, he's been supportive of the Lighthouse, been supportive of Gospel Light Holiness Church, too. And I love you, brother. Come on up here, and I appreciate it. Come on up here and address us tonight. Praise God! Well, praise the Lord! I'm glad to be in church tonight. Amen! I feel the presence of the Lord. When I came in tonight, I heard the sounds of saints on joyful ground. Praise God! Amen! I appreciate Brother and Sister Sargent, and give honor to them and to the church here. Even if I did get your name wrong, brother, the name of the church wrong, I'm sorry. Amen! I'm still learning! Praise God! Praise God! Good to see Brother Selfridge and his wife. Looking forward to hearing them preach tonight and minister. Good to see all the fellow shipping brothers also. But I was thinking about graveyards today, and I took a little stroll through the Hodgenville Pentecostal Church Cemetery. And in that cemetery, there are some folks that passed away when they were older. And then there's some there, like a 16-year-old boy who stole a car, took off down the road in St. Louis, and was hit and killed by a drunk driver. And then there's Brother Austin Hawkins who passed away, 30-some years old, of a brain tumor, and he's gone. I believe seven years passed just a few weeks ago. Not very much good news comes from the graveyard. It's just a place of sad news, terrible news, awful news. It's not a place... There's been a couple times when some good news has come from the graveyard. When the man that was killed was thrown in on Elijah's bones, and he'd come back alive because even the Spirit of God was still on the bones of the prophet, that was a little good news. And when Lazarus had been in the grave for three days, and Jesus came and said, Lazarus, come forth, there was some good news there. But there's not typically good news from a graveyard, amen. And the disciples on this fearful Friday, as they sat there, bemoaning, amen, the death of Jesus Christ, and they had seen Him give up the ghost and say, it is finished. And He had died, and they had placed Him in a grave. It was a fearful Friday that they had, amen. And tomorrow on Saturday, the silent Saturday, is even worse. When you've lost your hope of the Savior, and He's dead, and now everything's silent, and maybe somebody in this service tonight, you're in your silent Saturday. I want you to know, amen, that about 2,000 years ago, there was a Savior. Hallelujah! He died! He died! Hallelujah! On Friday! But He had to die so He could get back up again! Praise God! And on Sunday morning, hallelujah, there was good news that came from the graveyard! For the angel said, He's not here, He is risen! Aren't you glad that we serve a God? Good news from the graveyard! Hey, you may be in your silent Saturday tonight, but hold on, Sunday's coming! I said, Sunday's coming! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Jesus said it would be so! How many times did He tell His disciples, this is going to happen! And when it happened, they couldn't hardly believe it! But He said, I'm coming out of the grave! And tonight, every promise is still valid! Hallelujah! Even this late hour, souls can be saved! People can be delivered! Bodies can be healed! Praise God! Depression can be dispersed! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Glory to God! Hallelujah! I'm so glad! Brothers, visiting pastors, brothers, I appreciate you so much for being here! It is a great blessing! Brother Kerberos, would you please come? Pastor of Highway of Holiness, it's a great honor to have him with us tonight! Greatly appreciate you being here! Come on up here! Amen! Thank God! Praise God! Go ahead! Praise God! Amen! Amen! Sanctification isn't just a doctrine of the Holiness Church! It is truth! And it is demonstrated over and over again in the lives of people! If you're struggling, Brother Kurt just said, there's a sanctifying power that can take care of things! Praise God! Brother and Sister Selfridge, I'm grateful that you're here with us! I was asked the other day, I ran into somebody and said, Hey, aren't you Michael and Christy's preacher? And I said, yeah, I'm him! And this is my preacher, right here tonight! And I greatly appreciate Brother Selfridge, a wonderful friend, proven himself to be a friend, him and Sister Pam! So would you all come and obey God tonight? Praise God! Thank you, God! It's a great honor to get to be in the house of the Lord! To be here with all these great folks and see our friends over in this country! It's so great to be here! I appreciate everything that's been said and done! It's just the Spirit of the Lord! One of the greatest things to me took place right here last night! And that young lady, she prayed for those that was here! Her testimony was, He made me happy! Come on now! He made me happy! Amen! And I thought about, Sister Pam was going to sing, but I thought about her getting saved in this late hour! And some could say, what's a bad time for somebody young! And maybe her home life might not be storybook perfect and all this! You might say it's a tough time for somebody young! Trying to get going, trying to get started! But listen to what Jude said! He said, Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling! He didn't stop there! And to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy! How many believe that young lady can make it? The same God that helped you helped me! He'll help her in this late hour! Amen! Let's worship the Lord! The Lord you went the extra mile! Just to prove your love was true! And you held out your hand! As He drove the devils in you! Oh, you could have walked away! Turned your back to all my sin! But for me you gave your life! And you chose to be my friend! Oh, you were there for me! Through it all, when everyone around said I would fall! You were my friend, you believed in me! Oh, through the good times and the bad times! I felt that you were all I had! You were my friend, you believed in me! Oh, you went the extra mile! Just to prove your love was true! And you held out your hand! As He drove the devils in you! Oh, you could have walked away! Turned your back to all my sin! But for me you gave your life! And you chose to be my friend! So often like a child, so full of fear! You took back by my side, you held me near! You were my friend, you believed in me! And when my faith grew weak, my strength was gone! You took me by the hand, you led me on! You were my friend, and you believed in me! Oh, you went the extra mile! Just to prove your love was true! And you held out your hand! As He drove the devils in you! Oh, you could have walked away! Turned your back to all my sin! But for me you gave your life! And you chose to be my friend! Oh, you went the extra mile! Just to prove your love was true! And you held out your hand! As He drove the devils in you! And you could have walked away! Turned your back to all my sin! But you just gave your life! And you chose to be my friend! Could you just raise your hand one more time and worship the Lord? Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. It's been a great honor to get to be here, brother and sister sergeant and their family and their church. We appreciate everything, the nice place to stay, the meals, just everything that's been done for sister Pam and I, we really do appreciate it. And I know there's a lot of great preachers here and brother Jameson started out the service, I really thought he was speaking to me when he emphasized, if I was a preacher, I really felt the Lord trying to talk to me right there. Amen. So we're going to try to do our best, try not to keep you in here too long, but I have a burden to try to talk to us right here for just a little while. I'm not here to impress, they're far greater preachers and we're not in no competition. So let's just look into the word of the Lord and seek the Lord to talk to each and every one of us right here tonight. We all need him, don't we? We need the Lord. It's good to see brother Doug Webb here. I don't want to imply that he's getting older, but I remember hearing him preach in Middle Borough, Kentucky years and years ago. And I've never forgotten when brother Doug took the pulpit, brother Simpson was a pastor in Middle Borough, and brother Doug Webb said, I'm going to paint you a picture of Calvary. I've never forgotten that, when he preached that message years and years ago. Amen. I appreciate him being here in the house of the Lord. Turn with me to the book of St. John's Gospel, very familiar. Again, there's been a lot said already about the week, the day that we're celebrating. Brother Webb, he's already done put the icing on the surface here tonight. So all I've got to do is fill in a few blank spots here, and we'll see what the Lord will do with this. But I want him to talk to us tonight. St. John chapter number 20, verse number 1. The Bible said, The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark under the sepulcher. And seeth the stone taken away from the sepulcher. Then she runneth and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher, and we know not where they have laid him. Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulcher. So they ran both together, and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulcher. And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen cloth lying, yet went he not in. Then cometh Simon Peter, following him, and went into the sepulcher, and seeth the linen cloth lie, and the napkin that was about his head, not lying with the linen cloth, but wrapped together in a place by itself. Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulcher, and he saw and believed. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. Verse 10 is where I'd like to preach from. The Bible said, Then the disciples went away again unto their own home. Amen. Would you just stretch a hand this way and ask the Lord to help us? Father, we're out here tonight for just a little while. Would you please, would you stand with us? Would you stand with us? I know, God, that you can help us. I know that you can touch us. I ask you, God, that you would visit with us right here. Maybe there's someone in this building tonight, God, that's hard to help. Their load is heavy. Jesus' name, amen, amen. I want to preach tonight, if the Lord would help me. It seems like today He's got to deal with my heart about this. I want to preach on when God is out of sight or when God is gone. Amen. There's a lot said, it's been said even here tonight, and it should be said, about this week, this holy week, this passion week, if you will. There's been a lot said concerning Christ, concerning the suffering, concerning the crying, concerning the bloodshed. We preached about it Wednesday night, talked about how that He surrendered His will in the garden. We realize that all of this points us to the victorious, redemptive work of Christ. And we're so glad to, as has been said here tonight, that we can shout knowing what we know about this story. Amen. But how many know that the Bible is a story of both God and man? Now this book, to me, would not be near as helpful to me if it was only about God. But when He displays God and man, then I can relate to these people. And so I got to looking at this story, and like I said, it's already been mentioned here tonight, so I'll just ease into it. Amen. We can shout, but these, at this particular time, as Brother Welby talked about the fearful Friday and the sad Saturday, amen, we see here, amen, the faith of His followers. We see, amen, the toil and the strain that this particular time had on His disciples. And if you read this real carefully, amen, it's almost as you can see the depths of their despair. You can see their discouragement. You can see the disillusion that came into their lives. You could go with me back, and just for a moment, we can look at how these men had not only faithfully followed Him, amen, for the last few years, but in this week, I feel like that they had been by His side. And the toil that it had taken, it is displayed. We see their exhaustion in the Garden. How many knows that they loved the Lord? They wasn't there, Brother Tim, for show. They weren't there, amen, to try to make a name. They really loved this man. And they were intending on being with Him, and they were. But even in the Garden, you Bible readers remember, it wasn't that they were just looking for a place to lie down and sleep. I feel like that they were willing to watch and willing to pray. And even the Lord said that their spirit was willing, but their flesh was weak. And so we see that it has taken a great toll on them. They're exhausted from following the Lord. And again, let me emphasize, they don't have a King James Version Bible that they can flip a couple pages over and hear the conclusion of the whole story. They're navigating through this for the first time. And they don't know the end of the story. So are you with me here? Amen. So we see their exhaustion. We see the fear that's in their lives, the uncertainty, amen. They're dealing not only with those things, the emotions in their body, but it's also a cold time. Now I don't know about you, but I don't like being cold. Come on, somebody help me preach. Amen. We can point fingers at Peter all we want to, but had there been a fire there, you and I would have tried to warm by that fire, can you say amen? And so we see this. They go through the trial, through the long hours of all that they went through, amen. And I know they did not stay right there, but just to try to sympathize with them. And then they go to Golgotha. They go to the cross, amen. They watch Him. They hear. And all of these things that take place, amen. Then they even to the tomb, and they see the stone. But here in our Scripture setting, they come to Him on the tomb on the first day of the week. And when they get there, I don't know if you catch this, and maybe it's just by the sufferings being too dramatic, but the Bible said that Mary Magdalene came of when it was yet dark. And I believe that there was darkness in more ways than one in this woman's life. I believe it was a dark time. I believe it was a troubling time. They loved this man, can you say amen? And so they come to the sepulcher, amen, and to their amazement of that one that they loved. Can you see, amen, how much love, how much respect that they had, that even though they had watched them mutilate His body, amen, even though they had watched Him be His visage marred, Him being disfigured of, amen, from all the cruel treatments of, yet they wanted to be where He was at. And when they get there, and that's all that they had left of Him. Are you with me? Amen. But now, even that is gone. Even that last little thread, that last little hope, if you will, is gone, amen. And all they've got, amen, is when they look in, they're just seeing an empty tomb and seeing some grave clothes laying there. I don't know how you feel about it, but I feel like that at least when He was in the tomb, they knew where He was at. But now, He's gone. And listen to this, and see if you can feel with me here. Verse 19 said, For as yet they knew not the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. Verse 10 said, Then the disciples went away unto their own home. When I read that, Pastor, I felt like I was there with them. He's gone. If we could just see His body, if we could just get close enough to Him, but He's gone. He's not there. I saw this in different places. Bear with me here. In Matthew it said it like this. He said, Then went Pilate and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out of the rock, and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulcher, and departed. That's as far as it goes. He's gone. It's over. It's over. Our hopes have died. Come on now. That dream that we had, that spark, that hope that we had in Israel, it is gone. Can you say amen? And even the Scripture said it like this. And it said, And Luke, and behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus. I just feel like they felt like, what are we going to do? He's gone. There's nothing there. You know the story. They had trusted Him to be the Lord. And all of a sudden, Jesus comes and joins them. But they don't know who this stranger is. Are you with me? Can you hear them as they talk? The Lord began to ask them, Why are you sad? They began to talk to Him. And listen to how they said it. We trusted that it had been He which should redeem Israel. We trusted that. But now that trust is out of our sight. Now we don't even have a body anymore. There's nothing there. Can you say amen? And besides all of this, today's the third day. And they said early this morning, as some ladies went to the tomb, they saw an angel. They saw a vision. But Him, they saw not. Amen. Listen. As glorious as this was, as happy as me and you can be about it, these people were having a tough time. Can you say amen? What should have been a glorious time is a literal struggle for them. Can you say amen? They're having a time because the Lord, that one that they loved, they can't see Him. They cannot get to Him. He's not talking to them. Hallelujah. I said He's not talking to them. I feel like, for He had called them His friend. I believe, Brother Anthony, that John mentioned about things that happened that was not even written in the book. Come on now. So allow me some room to preach. I feel like they confided in Him. John leaned on his breast. But now that man's not there. I'm needing somebody at this point to talk to. It's a dark hour in my life. I'm needing something. And my God is gone. He's out of sight. I can't find Him. I can't touch Him. I can't talk to Him. He's not talking to me. Come on now. And I'm struggling. Oh, hallelujah. These men loved Him. Come on now. You can criticize Peter all you want to, but Peter's ready to die for Him. He's got the sword out. He meant business. Put it up, Peter. Put it up. Put your sword back up. Come on now. There's been a lot of times that we get really spiritual and we want to try to, hey man, maybe kind of be negative here. And we even talk about Thomas, where Thomas said, except I see Him. Come on now. Except I touch Him. I'm not going to believe in this. I'm struggling here. I'm needing help. Come on now. I'm going to be transparent. I don't know if I can help you tonight. Brother, there have been times, pastor, in my life when I felt like God was out of sight. I felt like God was gone. And I needed something, brother Tim. There have been times, I wish I could tell you, that every time I prayed, the heavens just opened up and I felt His glory. There have been times, even lately, that I felt like, Lord, I don't know where you're at right here. And I'm needing to touch you. Come on now. How many knows that in being a Christian, it's being spiritual? Come on here. And when you add the Pentecostal flavor to it, we like the experience. We like the adrenaline rush. We like something to really move. Come on here. Oh, I'd like to preach to you tonight. Hey man, Thomas was that man. You all done heard this preacher before. He meant his name means twin. He meant he had the two natures. Come on here. And that's where me and you are at tonight. There's times that our spirit flies high. There's times that our faith's in God. There's times that even nothing's going to slow us down. There's times, amen, when we're ready to just run on for God. But if you'd really be honest with me today, there's times, amen, that we're trying to get a hold of God. Amen, and God ain't to be found. Amen, and in our heart we begin to struggle. We begin to have them hard times. Could I tell you tonight, there'll be times in your life, amen, that that faith turns to fear. Will it always be this way? Come on now. Will it always be this way? I was talking to a preacher friend the other day. I called his name. Some of you would know him. He pastored in southeastern Kentucky for years. And brother Tim, now he's got some kind of disease. I can't even pronounce the name of it. But it just left him really sick and really weak, and he's unable to eat. Couldn't even drink. Couldn't hardly swallow. And it left him. And I'm not saying this to be ugly. He is my friend. Come on now. And brother David Webb, it left him almost like he was retarded. And he's a dignified man. Just a statesman in his speech. And I called to check on him. And this wife said, Brother Ronnie wants to talk to you. Brother Tim, I heard a voice at one time could speak so plainly and speak so eloquently. And he began to say, Hello, brother Ronnie. How you doing? And my heart just sunk. And as we began to talk and he began to tell me, he said, I can't hardly play no more. I can't hardly get it out no more. And he said, I hear a voice in the back of my mind saying, Is this how God treats holiness preachers? That have given their life to Him? You're hearing me? You're hearing me? I felt like but for a moment in that great man's eyes, his God was gone. He was out of his sight. In the times that he could walk to the Bible stand, he may have had to pump his fist and pound the pulpit and preach the Gospel. But now he's not even able to pray. Oh, hallelujah. And that faith is beginning. The devil and his flesh is beginning to work on him. I said, brother, let me try to help you. In my heart, brother Sergeant, I'm begging God. I need you to talk to me right now. And I felt the Lord begin to deal with my soul. And I said, brother, listen. Even in the book of Hebrews, the Bible talks about one crowd that they saw the dead raised. They thought they would escape the violence of fire. They'd done all these great mighty things. But then in the end of that chapter, it said, but others. Oh, hallelujah. And it tells what they went through. And I said, one had an earthly victory, a testimony of victory. But the others had an eternal testimony of victory. And I said to my friend, I can go to heaven being sick. I can go to heaven even dealing with troubles. But I can't go to heaven if I lose my faith in this almighty God. Oh, hallelujah. There will be times in your life that it feels like that He's out of sight to you. And they went home. They went home. Are you hearing me? They just went home. I'm through with this. I don't know what I'm going to do. Your faith turns to fear. Your love feels lost. Your joy turns to sadness. Your hope turns to worry. Your confidence turns to confusion and chaos. And like my preacher friend, why God? Why? Why does this happen? Your heart's broke. I have learned in the last few years of my life sometimes it takes some time to learn that. And I'm a slow learner. So forgive me. But I have learned that there is a symptom in life. There's a place you can get where your heart's broke. He's a preacher man. I've preached meetings for him. He's in another state. And his wife had left him. And he was dealing with a lot of things, trying to continue at that time to pastor. The love of his life is gone. It's a terrible, terrible situation. He had asked me to come and preach for him. I went and preached for him. She came that night, a back-slid woman, because she loves Sister Pam and myself. And we preached that night. And I had so much hope she would come back to God. That wasn't the end of the story. Brother Webb, how do you turn it back over to this man? And when he walked to the Bible stand as a pastor, but that's his wife. And now she's gone from him, literally. And she's only come back to church for this one service. And he just collapses over the Bible stand and starts crying. What am I going to do? But Brother Tim, he told me later, he said, I got to having pains in my chest. I got to hurting in my chest. And I felt like you need to see a doctor. And he said I kept putting it off, and that pain was there. And he said it was literally, I could feel that pain in my chest. And I realized this is not a medical condition. My heart's broke. Are you hearing me tonight? My heart is broke. Oh, hallelujah. I don't know how you're feeling about it. Amen. Tonight we're shouting because we know the end of the story. But these men did not know the end of the story. They're just going home. They're just saying we don't know what to do. They're just saying we don't know which way to go. Amen, and we're troubled. They're in the same place Job was. And maybe you're here tonight. Job said, oh, that I knew where I might find him. Oh, hallelujah. Ever been there? I would look for him. I'd go backward. I'd go forward. I'd turn to the right hand. I'd turn to the left hand. I just would love to find the Lord. Could you raise your hand and ask God to help me? I can't find him. Look, brother, I can't find him. He's gone. He's not there. He's not there. Amen. The other morning I went to the Lord in prayer. This past Sunday morning I went to the Lord in prayer. And there's a Scripture that leaped out to me. And I know the context of it. And it talks in 1 Timothy about the qualifications of the bishop and the deacon. But, brother Tim, that Scripture leaped out at me where it said this, holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. Holding the mystery. Sometimes how many knows that that's what it is? Am I doing any good here? Webster said that a mystery was something that has not been or cannot be explained. It is something beyond human comprehension. These things... Oh, I'd like to help you tonight if I could. There's things that you'll go through in life that there's no explaining it. There's no figuring it out. You're not going to understand it. Come on now. Could that be why some songwriter says we'll understand it better when? By and by. But right now we just can't seem to understand it. I've thought of the words of a song it said. I've had many tears of sorrow. I've had questions for tomorrow. There's been times I didn't know right from wrong. But in every situation, God gave me blessed consolation that my trials only came even to make me strong. Are you hearing me tonight? Oh, hallelujah. I want to preach to me and you. Right now you're seeing through a glass darkly. This Bible's full of men and women that walked in troubling times. Again, it's Easter weekend. They've been worth shouting to victory. But those men weren't. They was looking through a glass darkly. Their God was gone. But somebody stick with me right here. He had told them, A little while and ye shall not see me. But then he said it again, Ye in a little while and ye shall see me. I come to tell you tonight, In a little while, He's going to be waiting for you. He's going out of sight. But how would he know? He was working out the final touches of the redemptive plan. And that's what he does when it seems like he goes obscene and we can't see him. Amen. Come on now. Come on now. Oh, would you ask God to help me right here? I want to tell somebody tonight, He's not forgotten you. Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost. Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost. I just feel the Holy Ghost. He's not forgotten you. He's not forgotten you. You can't feel him. You can't see him. It's a dark day. But He's not forgotten you. We can't understand all these things. That people means well. Come on now. How many remembers what he told Mary right here, just in a few Scriptures here? He met Mary. She stayed right there. And she thought he was the gardener. You remember the story? And she goes to him. She's still looking for him, brother Tim. She still wants to be there, brother Michael. And she said, Sir, if you'll just tell me where you took him. If you'll just tell me where he's at. There have been times, preacher, if you'll just tell me where he's at. If you'll just tell me where he's at. Brother Adam, when he spoke her name. When he spoke her name. Oh, hallelujah. Oh, when he called her by her name. And she said, Master. But did you catch what he said to her? He said, Mary, don't touch me. Stay with me right here. Don't touch me. He was out of sight for a little while. Could I tell you? This was the only time he told anybody, Don't touch me. For he said, I've got to ascend. What's this? To my Father and to yours. I've got some work to do. Could I tell you tonight? He said, listen. He may be out of sight. You may be struggling in your trial. But I'm here to tell you. You might not be able to touch him right now. But there's going to come a day. Just in a few days. They're going to be gathered in a room. Listen. You can throw Thomas under the bus if you want to. But Jesus loved Thomas. And Thomas loved Jesus. And in a few days. They gather around. And Thomas just don't go. You can speculate. So can I. I don't know why he didn't go. But I have a little feeling, Brother Anthony. He was discouraged. Come on now. But they said, the Lord met with us. You ever heard that? You've heard it. The one time you don't get to go to church for whatever reason. Oh, we had a great meeting. Huh? You're smiling at me. The one time you didn't show up. And God came by. You know how that makes you feel? That's what I thought. But then there was another time. Come on now. I'm about through. Stick with me. There was another time. In a little while, you shall not see me. And again, in a little while, you shall see me. You see, the Lord had an appointed time for them. That angel had told them disciples, while the Lord was out of sight. That angel said, you tell his disciples. And be sure that you tell Peter about it. I want you to go somewhere. I'm going to meet you in Galilee. And I came tonight. I came into this Friday night service to tell somebody. There's an appointed time. He's got just ahead. I feel the Holy Ghost. There's an appointed time just ahead of you. He's fixing to meet with you. And the Bible said it like this. And they were gathered together again. And Thomas was in there. And the Bible specifically said. And the doors being shut. I'm here to tell you. He came in with the doors shut. He came in and you better shut the door. I'm through. I'm going home. I can't take it no more. I don't know what I'm going to do. And the doors is shut. I don't want to hear nobody else say. I understand what you're going through. I know where you're at. I just want to shut the door. But this time, brother Andy, when he come through that door. He said to him. Thomas. Come here. Touch me. Touch me. Touch me. And tonight. And I'm just through right here. He wants you to reach out your hand. On this night. He wants you to touch him. Because you know the other side of the story. Dark times. Dark days. I've got a picture of him back close home. He's got three young daughters. His middle daughter. She said something went wrong. I don't really know what it was. They don't know what it was. But she had something wrong with her stomach. She's a teenager. And she just couldn't eat. Kind of reminds me of what you told me the other day. He said she just could not eat. Anything she ate just made her so sick. And she had lost weight. And even if she tried to eat soup. She'd just get so deadly sick. And he said we had prayed. We'd had her to the doctor. We'd done everything we know to do. It just seemed like she wasn't getting any better. And he said we really thought. He said I thought my little girl was going to leave here. I'm a holiness preacher. And I can't get God to move for me. And I'm seeking God. And she's looking at me. Daddy, I can't eat. I'm struggling. But he told me. He called me. We was talking. And he said that one night. It's a dark time. Them little girls. Listen right here. I want to tell you the importance of a Christian home. A Christian prayer. You might think bedtime prayers aren't important. But you scoot up here. Let me talk to you just a little minute. Them three little girls was ready for bed. I say little, but two of them's teenagers. One of them's probably close to that. But Brother David, before they went to bed that night. Mom and Daddy's done laid down. In their bedroom. Those three girls as was a habit. They begin to pray. They begin to talk to God. But after the Spirit of the Lord came in that bedroom. Where three little sisters was praying. For that middle one. She said the Holy Ghost came down. Are you hearing me? They felt touch of the Lord. They felt blessed. And then it's like it lifted. And the other two went to their bedrooms. And she went to hers. And her daddy's telling me the story. He said that around one or two o'clock in the morning. She jumps up. Comes running into him and his wife's room. Beating on the door. Daddy, Daddy, Daddy. Oh, what's going on? She was weeping and sobbing and crying. He said finally he got it where she could talk. She said Daddy, the Lord visited me tonight. Come over here. He got her calmed down. He said tell me honey what happened. She said Daddy, we prayed. And I laid down that night. And said I was so sick. And my stomach was hurting. And said as I laid there. And I got to thinking about him. She said I felt faith begin to come in that dark room. And as I felt faith come into that dark room. She said I kept reaching for him. And this is what that young holiness lady said. She said Daddy, I heard his voice. And said Daddy, it felt like coils unleashed in my stomach. And weeping and crying. She said Daddy, I'd go through it all over again. If I could hear him speak to me one more time. Like he talked to me a while ago. Oh, hallelujah. Even it may be a dark time. But there's an appointed place. And he's going to meet with you. And I just kind of had a feeling. That it might be on a Friday night. Right here. Amen at Brother Tim Sargent's church. At the gospel line holding a church. Would you reach for him? If he's been out of sight. If he's been gone. If you felt like you couldn't talk to him. Would you tonight reach for him? Would you stand with me here tonight? This is not a vain story. It didn't end as the preacher said. It didn't end with a fearful Friday. It didn't end with a sad Saturday. But it ended with a victorious day. If you're here tonight. Listen, we're not critical. You've come out of respect for this man and his church. You've come. Some of you took a chance on it. You knew I was here. Amen. But we're all here. But there have been times I needed help. There have been times I've looked through that glass darkly. There have been times that I've wondered. God. So tonight right here just a few minutes before 9 o'clock. I'm not here to single you out. But I feel like there's more than one of us here. That tonight it would be good if we'd come right around these altars. And said, Lord. You're a resurrected Savior now. We're not looking for your grave clothes. We're a priesthood for the empty tomb. But we have a living Savior now. And He can be touched by the filling of your infirmities. Would you come tonight? Would you come? Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on.
